Very good breakfast. Many choices of Mexican style breakfast including traditional. Great Red beer too!

We went to this place expecting $ prices but were surprised when all the entrees were $$. We ordered some quac which came to $ 10 something then left to find a more budget friendly place. I recommend Unilocal replace the one $ with 2.

Not stellar but still very good, La Fogata delivered a decent meal not far from the Plaza in Santa Fe. We found this place after accidentally turning into a largely abandoned shopping arcade. All told is was quite good. My wife had the Carne Asada, I had a green chile burger, and our teenage girls split a Carne Asada Torta. All were quite tasty; the homemade fries were a particularly good accompaniment. I would almost certainly return again.

Taco Tuesday’s here are the best! They have a mariachi band here those nights and it’s a very fun experience with delicious food and amazing service, can’t ask for much more!

What a bad experience, we went for dinner based on the pictures and reviews, but for our surprise they didn’t have the same menu as on the reviews!!! They had a new dinner and way over priced menu.?$&&@! The salsa and guac with no flavor and its seems they used old avocados.:(when the waiter brought us our food it was dry and to top it off it came with old tortillas!!! Please help keep food places real and with no bull. Reviews.!!

I’ve yet to get bad food from here, I have only ever gotten my breakfast burritos to go and their always awesome! I have not been in yet to sit down and enjoy a meal, so I can’t say anything in the service, but if they do as well with that as their food is yummy, then I’m sure it will be amazing as well!

Service was great, tacos and enchiladas were yummy. Carnitas were a little tough but good flavor. Carne asada tacos were great. Take note, no liquor, just beer and wine. Had an agave wine margarita. Very sweet and slightly fizzy but cut through the fat/salt of the dish nicely.

Was excited about the fun menu. Unfortunately the food did not live up to the words written. We ordered 3 things so we could get a good feel. 1.) Guatemalan Garnachos. These were decent. The pickled toppings were more like coleslaw but the meat was very flavorful and just spicy enough to make you notice spice. The sides of rice and beans had no flavor and beans were most certainly canned. 2.) Salvadorian pupupas were interesting. I’m not cultured enough in Salvadorian style food to know if they were exceptional or not but for those curious as to what they are it’s like a flat Asian dumpling filled with beans(again canned flavor) and pork. The texture was very strange to me. 3.) El Pastor Taco. These are one of my favorite tacos in general so I was disappointed when I took a bite into my taco and it lacked all normal expectations for an el pastor taco. The onions/cilantro toppings were sparse and the flavor of the meat wasn’t satisfying nor was it soft. Overall, I won’t eat here again. I think the issue is they are trying to accomplish New Mexican, Mexican, Salvadorian, Guatemalan etc all in one menu.

We had a quick stop here while wandering around the Plaza. Or at least we thought it was going to be quick. The sign was outside a shopping center and we didn’t realize the maze we would have to walk through to find it. After several hallways and up and down stairs, we finally arrived. By that point I just wanted to eat already! Unfortunately, the vast majority of their menu was breakfast items. They only had one page of salads and sandwiches(but I’m visiting Santa Fe, I don’t want a salad!) and then half a page of New Mexican lunch options. Nothing really jumped out at me but the boyfriend got the empanadas, one chicken and one beef. They were flaky and crispy, just how they should be and the side of green chili was nice and hot. Service was almost non existent. There was only one server but also only three occupied tables(at 11:30 am on a Sunday). We had to either flag her down or wait around for our drinks to get filled. When the girl came to pick up the empty plate, we told her we were all done. She said, «Okay» and walked back to the kitchen for a while. Silly us, thinking that by saying we’re done, that should indicate we are ready for our check. Nope. After another 5 minutes and her bringing the check to the table behind us, we waived at her and asked for ours. Another trip back to the kitchen(she didn’t take anything in or out of there) before she came out to the register to print our check. The other reviews seemed to have had better luck with service so maybe it’s hit or miss? The food aspect was good but the lack of service really took it down a notch for me.

The food is good and the green chili is HOT! The service was barely noticeable and actually kinda lacking. They do not have a full bar-just beer and wine. They advertise margaritas but they are wine margaritas. Overall, I would recommend for the good food.

We were so happy to find this place on Unilocal. As other reviews have said, this restaurant is a little hidden, downstairs from galleries and other shops. The owners are El Salvadoran and the food is really hard to pigeon– hole. Both my wife and I ordered the Torta which had thin skirt steak, grilled ham, avocado and green chiles. What a nice blend of cultural cuisine. I’m from Southern California and have had many tortas, all from Mexican restaurants. This one was truly unique and Delicious and in a way reminded me of the wonderful Cuban sandwiches we had in Miami. The only similarity was the sliced ham but it was such a good combination. The fries that came with it were also delicious, somewhere between thick and thin cut and definitely home-made. The service was very friendly and prompt. Lastly, the prices are very reasonable. A real winner!

This is an amazing restaurant that is hidden in the basement of one of the galleries. I wouldn’t have discovered it had it not been for Unilocal.I wanted to try out New Mexican cuisine while I was in Santa Fe. The server was super friendly and she painstakingly explained every item in the menu that I had questions for. I ultimately ended up getting the SalsaTrio Sopes. I didn’t know what a sope was before so I was tempted to try it out after hearing the description from the server. And I wasn’t disappointed. I loved the spiciness. I loved the texture — a light crisp base to go with the soft, smooth topping. And the flavors were amazing. I would definitely recommend trying it out. And one final point. The place is a great value for money.

I am starving otherwise I would make this a lot longer. This is really the best meal I’ve had in awhile. The meat is actually beef cheek, called barbacoa. Made into soft tacos with black beans and Spanish rice. I ate the whole thing. I highly recommend this place! They serve breakfast all day too. I have the crates for their awesome.

I love how it’s a bit hidden! It’s like a secret neat spot. The lime green walls and oak tables make for a comfortable vibe for you and your friends to stay a while! I had the breakfast tacos– it hit the spot! A lot of food for not a lot of money. I recommend this place! Though if you find yourself in a rush, potentially not the place for you and your group!

Three of us lunched and we were all happy with our meals. The salmon tacos were fresh and light and nicely presented with rice and beans. The veggie enchilada with red and green sauce was just as the native NM friend had hoped. The chicken tamales were just what my friend had hoped, flavorful, and reminiscent of meals in the Yucatan.

I went for breakfast this past Saturday after reading a few local reviews. I asked the waitress to suggest something and went with the chilaquiles. She completely lit up when I asked her red or green. She said they had THEBEST red chile but also said she liked the green too. She was not kidding about that red. It was fantastically flavored and had a very good level of heat for this Chicano kid. Also, being a mole junkie, I had to ask for a small side. Next time I’ll ask for it in a glass with a straw. Holy Mole’, no doubt! The staff was friendly, the cook was jamming some Cumbia in the kitchen, service was quick, and the meal was delicious. Free chips and salsa! I can’t wait to go back! I really hope these folks stay in business. Any of you out of towners and even locals who gravitate towards Tia Sophias and Pascuals, I’d put this food up against either of them any day of the week. Step out of your comfort zone(Tia’s) OR don’t believe the hype(Pascuals) and check these folks out. You won’t be disappointed.

I was in Santa Fe with my sister and mother to celebrate my mom’s 90th birthday. We decided to come here on a Friday night because of a recommendation from a waiter at our hotel. He told it us it was a newer restaurant and that they offered a menu that included not only New Mexican, but also Mexican and Salvadorean entrees. Turns out they don’t have a full bar(the owner explained that liquor licenses are $ 300,000 in New Mexico), but they do offer wine, beer, and agave wine margaritas. We picked a bottle of wine, but they were out of stock, so the owner came over with another bottle and offered us samples to make sure it was a good substitute. We had a nice Rioja with dinner for only $ 30 for the bottle. The wine is served in Riedel glasses — a nice touch. Between us we had the Caesar salad, the Santa Fe enchiladas, and a hamburger. Before we got our entrees, the waitress came over with a complementary pupusa appetizer. I’m not a good judge of pupusas, not being a huge pupusa fan, but my sister and mother really enjoyed it. I did really like the spicy salad topping that came with it. The hamburger was outstanding and the Santa Fe enchiladas were the best I’ve had out of the three different versions of enchiladas I’ve had in Santa Fe. I got the«Christmas» version(one red and one green sauce) and everyone agreed the green sauce version was our favorite. The Caesar salad was fresh and crunchy with plenty of cheese, but not much if any anchovy taste in the dressing. I’m not going to be here long enough to come back again soon, but if I could, I would also try the camerones since the owner is originally from Veracruz, a city known for its excellent seafood. The owner and our waitress were very service-oriented throughout our meal. When we arrived the owner had asked us what brought us to Santa Fe and I had explained my mom had gone to high school at Loretto Academy 73 years ago and we were in Santa Fe as a 90th birthday gift so she could visit the city again. So to top off our evening, without my asking, our waitress brought a complimentary slice of cake with a candle on it for my mother, along with birthday wishes from the restaurant! Our bill for 3 people including the $ 30 bottle of wine before tip was only $ 75. Outstanding service and good wine and food at reasonable prices. Check it out.

Looking to try someplace new, we decided to check out La Fogata for breakfast. I ordered a breakfast burrito with eggs and sausage, Christmas style(both red and green chile). My wife ordered huevos rancheros, Christmas as well. As you can see from the photo of my burrito, the plating was flawless, with a perfectly constructed burrito containing fluffy eggs and a generous portion of sausage. More importantly, the chile was some of the best I’ve ever tasted. The red was straightforward, earthy perfection, and the green was bright with a wonderfully clean green chile flavor. Both had the perfect heat level for my tastes. My wife was equally satisfied with her plate. I regret not getting a photo because it was as perfectly plated as mine.
