when I first came into Oak Liquor, I wasn’t expecting much because of their prices and horrible selection. But I found a single dusty bottle of johnnie walker black (an expensive brand) marked for very cheap on the back on their shelf. Excitedly, I awaited to make my purchase. Ahead of me was a middle schooler, who couldn’t be over the age of 15. The cashier asked for his ID which he suspiciously rambled about not having yet. She smiled and completed the sale without any ID, and let this teenager walk out of her store with a 18 rack of Budweiser. Already disgusted I placed my purchase on the table which she again scanned without so much as asking for my ID (I’m 21 but look easily under 30) and then proceeded to charge me ten dollars more than the price labeled on the bottle. I explained to her that there were no other bottles on the shelf to prove that this increase in price was just and her only excuse was muttering something about kids switching the labels in her store. Sounds like an excuse for a lazy shitty owner for not maintaining their stock (isn’t that your only job besides checking for ID which you are already incompetent in?). When I explained that «marking up the price» is an illegal business practice along with the sale of alcohol to minors. I even called afterwards to speak with the manager who continued to lie to my face so I happily reported them to the Police on the issues of both the price gouging and sale of alcohol to minors. I hope this business closes its doors soon.

Live Oak Liquors is a fairly small liquor store. They have a fair selection of beer, wine, cigarettes and hard alcohol, which is all decently priced. Their porn section is tucked to the side of the register, so the kids don’t find it so easily. The cashiers are always both friendly and helpful. Parking is located in back of the store, and the rear entrance remains open throughout the majority of the day, until it gets later, for safety reasons. They also sell newspapers and snack items, such as chips, candy, etc.
