The coffee is excellent & the baristas are knowledgable & friendly. Perhaps the best coffee in a town lucky enough to have many good independent coffee houses.

I like Coffeetopia, but am more of a regular at the Mission St. store. This one is smaller but with outdoor tables so on good days it’s kind of cool if you don’t mind road noise. No difference in quality, but I’ve found the help to be generally younger, for some reason, than at the Mission store and not always as on top of things. Good drinks, though, and nice toasted bagels. And if I’m running around mid-county and feeling a little weary and bothered, it’s a nice little rest stop. Always plenty of parking in back and easy access.

I am completely obsessed with their cold brew iced coffee! If you haven’t tried it I highly recommend it: smooth, strong and never bitter. It almost doesn’t even need half and half its so good. The people working are always friendly and even when it’s busy they go quick. Nothing worse than running in somewhere for a quick coffee on the way to work and having it take forever– not so with this place. Much much better than Starbucks and its local. Win-win

The coffee tasted like plastic! I first ordered an iced Mexican mocha– terrible. My first sip and there were either grounds or cinnamon– it was so chunky and not mixed well. I then had them make an iced caramel latte– so gross. Both tasted like plastic. Total waste of money. I think they have changed ownership or something recently. The past few times I have been there have been crappy service.

Visiting the area, thought I’d support a local business instead of Starbucks… it was early and I hadn’t had my first cup. Stood in the doorway, while one barista chatted with a customer and the other looked at me, then looked away. The customer had to tell me who to give my order to. My Americano was good, but would have loved some customer service to go with it. Of course, when the half-dressed girls walked in to ask for a bagel, they got a smile and a hello. It’s one thing to be ‘cool’ — but if you want my money, you need to be polite and at least a little bit professional.

I stop by here almost every morning. They have gluten free bengals and great coffee. My favorite crew works Mondays and Tuesdays. Check them out, they have several locations.

My first time here, waiting for a smog check down the block, and Coffeetopia is just what I needed. Good bagel and seriously the cheapest coffee ever. $ 2.25 for 20oz? That’s crazy. Friendly staff, pleasant atmosphere.

The baristas are very personable and the coffee is delicious, it’s the perfect spot for my daily coffee. It was my go-to place during finals week.

I used to come here a lot, but not so much in the last 6 months. The self serve coffee is no longer consistent in strength. On the weekends it’s far weaker. The carafes are always empty so my «quick cup» actually ends up taking about 10 or 15 minutes. There used to be several newspapers bought daily by the establishment for people to peruse, but not anymore. I find the service during the week is far better than on the weekends, and I suspect it’s because they’re slammed on the weekends. The service is always friendly and smiley and they have rotating art on the walls, which is nice for local artists and a fun way to decorate. There is always a large variety of snacks, bagels, pastries, fruit etc. So on the whole, nothing bad, just not anything fantastic either. Since then, I’ve taken to going to the Coffeetopia on Portola near 38th avenue and have found that coffee much stronger and to my liking, and always chock full of newspaper so I’m a convert to that location.

If I still lived in Santa Cruz I would be here every day. The coffee is delicious and everything except drip coffee is made to order. But what’s even better than the coffee is the Acai smoothie. It is so creamy and delicious and works great as breakfast. I need to figure out how to make it at home!

This place is small and noisy. Not a great spot for reading or meeting. I was trying to meet with a frien and it sounded like a construction zone.

The coffee is as good as the other coffeetopia’s. The service during the week is great but not as good on the weekends. Don’t think I’ll be going to this one on weekends anymore. The barista seemed to be more concerned about sipping her own coffee and chatting with a friend rather than opening the store up on time.

Great organic coffee, cool baristas, good art on the wall, quality pastries and bagels, good vibes, and wifi. I don’t tend to stay there too long as it’s more of a quick grab and go scene but worth visiting.

I used to come here a lot last yr with my ex, but not so much anymore. He still frequents and I do not. Anyways, I usually get a hazelnut latte and a bagel. The latte is usually so-so($ 3-$ 4) and the girls in there are fairly nice. One remembered my drink when I frequented more often. The bagels are the main reason why I go out of my way to come there. I love how they toast them and put the cream cheese on there. They have 4 – 5 different flavors and they are so yummy! I wouldn’t go anywhere else for a toasted cream cheese bagel! I think they run $ 3.25. The shop is relatively small, maybe 4 tables in there with an additional 2 – 3 outside. Its pretty laid back in there. I usually order and then wait for my drink before I even pay. They offer drip coffee as well. Also smoothies and other treats(muffins, fruit, sweets). If I am not in the area, I won’t stop by. I will head to starbucks which is closer for my drink(and cheaper). They have a small parking lot in the rear of building. And a few spaces on Capitola Rd in front of shop. Cash Only, but have debit machine on site.

I usually go to the Mission St. location, but the times I’ve been here have been great. Same menu, more friendly folks… Ethiopian on the Brew Bar is an awesome coffee! They have patio tables out front and out back, and it’s a nice place to sit and watch the world go by… fast wifi too.
