Really unique place. I’m not sure there is anything like it in Santa Cruz. A true piano bar with good wine, beer and food accommodations. Owners are. A sound technician and a singer, so the place is set up perfect for the venue. Great relaxed place and intimate setting.

This is the best kept secret in Santa Cruz! It’s tucked away in a strip mall but once you walk in you recognize that this is not your ordinary Santa Cruz coffee house, or wine bar! They have great coffee(even Teddy Bears in the latte foam), BUT the best part is the piano bar/wine bar. Great local musicians play in this small intimate space, the audience sings along and the owner(Christine) and wait staff are personable and happy to entertain! Love this gem in Santa Cruz!

I really enjoy this local coffee house(and wine bar). We haven’t taken part in the wine bar yet, but have enjoyed the coffee very much. The owners are friendly and welcoming. I love the Mexican Mocha and my new favorite is the Café Mona Zizzo, it tastes like roasting marshmallows! Delicious!

Stopped by on «Movie Night«for a bottle of Pinot and small plates, what a great place! The bruschetta and balsamic glazed flatbread were excellent accompaniment to the very tasty Pinot Noir poured by our hostess Christina. Beautifully decorated and comfortable, great looking piano bar, will definitely go back for the live music evenings! Can’t go wrong here, friendly service, fun movies on movie night and good local talent on the piano!

Went back for a blended white mocha with two espresso shots. It was delicious and I’m glad to say it tasted EXACTLY how I remembered it to be nine years ago. If there’s anything I love, it’s consistency. The atmosphere is nice and I didn’t know this place also served wine. I’ll have to come back.

Zizzo’s wine bar is my new favorite place to go to enjoy amazing live music, awesome ambiance(they have a huge 3′ mirror ball hanging on the ceiling that truly adds to the fun, romantic environment), the people(I absolutely love Aaron and Christine, the owners! Wonderful people!), and the delicious good and libations! The convenient location, just across from the Capitola Mall, provides ample parking as well. I highly recommend Zizzo’s wine bar. You will love your experience there, and will want to come back.

Killer coffee and fun staff. Love going in on game day wearing my Seahawks jersey and getting in a friendly conversation with the guy who’s a 9er fan. Good stuff here!

I found the best place to get your joe! The staff is great. They’re Friendly, pleasant, thoughtful and quick. They are happy to talk to customers– not just their friends. I love the atmosphere! There are many places to sit, they have some very comfy chairs and a sofa. THis place even has a wine bar AND a piano! It’s got this jazzy/mellow/welcoming feeling to it. They keep it clean and tidy too. Did I mention, they also have a customer card, where you get a free one when its filled up?! They make a great green tea blended drink too. Thanks coffee people!

Since I’m going to be spending a bit of time in the Capitola/SC area, I want to branch out(beyond Starbucks/Peets etc) and support local businesses. My visit started off well… the barista was super friendly and told me they were having their official grand opening at 4pm. And the concept/vibe of the space(coffeehouse/wine/beer bar with lots of tables and seats and comfy chairs) was refreshing. The coffee was pretty good(iced soy latte)…then things went downhill. I chose a spot near the back, and noticed there was a sign that said the area was a tech free zone after 4. I thought, how quaint(and slightly annoying) in this digital age! And I had a chuckle since I’ve seen a lot of this happening in Oakland/Berkeley. Since it was barely 1:30, I had plenty of time to do some writing before the alarm would go off and I’d have to put away my cell/laptop. Then some guy(Owner? No idea because he didn’t bother acknowledging my existence) started milling around and setting things up for their 4pm grand opening. He was putting out candles and flowers and people started trickling in and helping and I started looking around warily. Finally, I asked someone if I needed to move and I was told ‘you’re fine’ in a tone I’ve heard when I slip into a coffee shop for a quick drink with 10 mins till close(I know, I know… I’m one of those people. But rarely, promise!) Anyway, the same guy comes to the table I’m sitting at, plops down a ‘reserved’ sign then goes to the nearby bar area and starts blasting Peter Gabriel. Okay… I get it. Your 4pm grand opening is really starting at 2. That, or you really want me out of there. It looks like my quest to find a great local place to get some coffee/write continues. :( Two stars for the barista and a sweet layout.

My coworker took me here on our break. He loves this place because the cute girl gives a cheesy joke everyday, lol. White mocha with almond milk was delicious. Cute little place and I love the paintings

Had our drinks made with almond milk and extra shot of espresso. Pretty standard tuxedo and regular mochas. Not too sweet! Wasn’t very crowded either, so the wait was minimal. A cute caffeine pick me up spot on the way to Monterey, CA. They have a bunch of interesting drinks so if you’re in the mood from something different, I’d check it out!

With Unilocal as my guide, I found this fun and familiar coffee shop while in Capitola. I say familiar, because once we set foot inside, we really felt wholly relaxed and at home here. Cute, full-service coffee house where the friendly baristas will create your coffee/drink anyway you like it. They serve a variety of hot expresso drinks, iced coffees, chais, teas, smoothies and gourmet coffee drinks. They have a variety of pastries, breakfast treats and desserts made in-house and procured from local bakers. I went with the Peanut Butter Mocha and a Lemon & Berry Poppyseed muffin. I’m usually a bit leery about ordering specialty coffee beverages because they are often times too sweet for my tastes, but not this mocha. All my favorite things perfectly balanced together into one hot beverage — peanut butter, coffee and chocolate :-) The muffin was delicious too. You can order all drinks iced, blended or hot. In addition to great coffee and tea, Zizzo’s features a warm and relaxing atmosphere with a soft electric fireplace, cozy leather chairs, indoor/outdoor seating and free wi-fi for customers. They support local artists and promote community events and businesses too. We enjoyed coming into Zizzo’s. Wonderful coffee house that everyone can enjoy.
