A nicely curated selection of jewelry and other handmade goods and art. I make it a point to stop in monthly to check out their ever-updated selection and it is my go-to spot for gifts. Plus the sales staff could not be more helpful. It is a gem on Pacific Avenue.

The inventory is fantastic. My eyes took in so many works of art … all of them unique and beautiful. How do you choose. There is something, locally made, for everyone. Outstanding.

I really love this shop. They feature mostly local artists, lots of jewelry, but also paintings, wood works, and paper goods and gifts. This is a wonderful place to get a gift for someone or to splurge on yourself! It’s a little dangerous, because I always know I’m going to spend $ here :) They also have a 5% discount with a Unilocal check-in!

Do you appreciate custom made over mass merchant? Looking for a one stop shopping to get your fill of artisan made products for yourself, for family, friends, gifts, etc? Then look no further in downtown Santa Cruz, as this store has it all. Most items are made locally, but they bring in craftspeople from all across the US. The staff is really nice and helpful too.

Made in USA, made in the west coast, groovy cool things… not from China. thank goodness! My hubby bought me the most far out purse from this place for our anniversary. I had NO clue he bought it for me. I was so thrilled. It looks great on my shoulder. I love it! How does he surprise me so. What doesn’t surprise me is he shops local to support small businesses. I like that in a man and I love it in a local store!

Local artists and not so local artists, but all hand crafted in America. The jewelry is ecclectic. There are watercolors and paintings and prints. There are leathergoods. There are wooden cutting boards inlaid with turqoise and hand-painted silk scarves and kiln-fired porcelin tiles and chocolates and metalwork and greeting cards… just go and see what all there is in this store. There is a wide range of prices and tastes. The staff are super friendly and I know you’ll be able to find something unique as a gift for someone or yourself.

Awesome place to look for local art(much of it affordable!). Fun place to just look around or to buy a gift for yourself or someone special.(Gawd – this sounds like a paid ad!) Some pretty unique greeting cards are among the more inexpensive options. Staff seems to know their stuff, too.

Made in America, baby! I’d have been remiss had I not sent this to you amply before Christmas. I’d have left you out, compromised your ability to procure something sweet for your sweetness. Were you of a mind to attempt to right the economy on a single afternoon, Pacific Avenue in Santa Cruz would be the place to do it. For the occasion the unwashed wash, festoon their natty dreads in clean ribbons, solicit in sotto voices sprinkled with please and thank you. My favorite shoppe, indeed the only one that I patronize that doesn’t serve seasonal beverages, is Artisan’s. It’s Goldilocks-sized(you know, just right), with cases lining both walls and freestanding ones in the center. The cases are maybe two feet by two feet clear glass or lucite that looks like glass; inside are all manner of made crafts. Interesting adornments — necklaces, rings, things for your ears. Less precious stones than carefully worked metal and objects. Some leather goods. Glass hearts, candles. Art boxes to give to Mom for displaying your other thoughtful presents. In the back are cards and photographs and Other Things. The shoppe is well lit, the staff as attractive inside and out as what stocks the cases. This is my third year going. Three down, thirty three to go.

Great little shop. Went there to find something for my wife. Staff was very friendly and patient. While this type of shop is not my element, and I generally enter such places apprehensive that they’ll figure out that I don’t belong there; the young lady at the counter had no false airs and helped me feel right at home even with my(dopey) questions. Cool to see the range of artists — local and other parts of the country. Great service and ‘technical’ support. Complimentary gift wrapping is a nice touch. Nice range in prices — affordable to large commitment(I guess it’s all relative). Interesting stuff to buy for kids, but probably not a great place to bring them.

Here is a store both my mom and I can enjoy. They have a nice slice of local Santa Cruz creative/arty things as well as downright nice items. Their specialty is handmade jewelry which is in the $ 20-$ 60 range typically. I was particularly pleased with the handmade silk scarves and what seems to be a lasting section of handmaid inlaid woon boxes. You will find most of these crafts sprinkled in other stores around town at potentially higher prices, but it’s nice that there is one place where it all seems to collect. They seem to have a core set of artists and then maybe 20% is rotating artists so keep an eye out for new stuff and don’t forget the kiddie stuff and cards in the back.

I absolutely LOVED this place at first glance! I stumbled upon it randomly and decided to pop inside. Amazing selection of unique art, jewelry, woodwork, candles, etc., from artists all over the US. Definitely a great place to pick up something unique or to walk around and admire the amazing talent that this gallery represents.

I absolutely love the display of local artwork & talent. Very inspiring jewelry work, woodwork, water color, paintings, leatherwork, very unique candles and metalwork wall décor just to start. Casual but classy vibe. The artwork at Artisans is just fun to look at and to ooh and ahh over.

Thanks for supporting the First Fridays Art Walk in downtown SC! I appreciate the fact that the store is made up of American Made Crafts with an emphasis on local artists from the surrounding communities have to offer — we need more galleries/stores like you! I was impressed to find out that they were votes Top Retailer by NICHE magazine in 2007 and 2009… right on!
