This is a a great little gallery in downtown Santa Cruz. They have an outdoor sculpture garden with what I think are permanent works. Interesting, big, bold pieces that are definitely conversation starters. We were there on a first friday and had a great time viewing the featured works that night as well as all of the other pieces. Worth stopping in, especially on a first friday!

The Felix Kulpa Gallery in downtown Santa Cruz has been providing exciting and unique art shows for a number of years. The manager Robbie Shoen does a wonder ful job of providing a wide variety of art work. The gallery itself is relatively small but the shape allows for an abundance of art to be shown along the various walls, nooks and crannies. In addition Robbie usually has on display some of his own unique working guitars made from found objects as well as others of his works. This is a perfect place to view art in a congenial convenient setting.

The Felix Kulpa Gallery is one-of-a-kind. After many years of visiting the gallery, I continue to be delighted and inspired by the art work. Each show has a unique character; the interplay of the art work with the lovely gallery space and outdoor sculpture garden is always interesting. There really is no other place like this in the area.

The Felix Kulpa Gallery is one of my favorite galleries in Santa Cruz. It’s a small gallery, tucked away on Elm Street but it is a real gem. I love the sculptures and fountains when you come in, off the street. The Felix Kulpa also has really great taste in artists and I love every show that goes up there. The gallery is a popular stop on First Fridays.

Beautiful gallery! Very welcoming and charming place to go on a nice day. The owner was very friendly and lovely to talk to. He had some amazing(working) electric guitars that he made from objects like toilet seats and skateboards, and he let me play them! Wonderful gallery.

Such an enchanting find and so Santa Cruz. After browsing through records at Streetlight — I wandered into Felix Kulpa’s inviting sculpture garden and gallery. From telephone booth art, to innovative guitar sculptures, to simple pieces composed by talented artists from the most basic of materials — this art haven captures the essence of local Californian artists with a superb eye. This gallery is also well lit, so you can still feel the sun beams radiating around you as you study the art. My only regret is not donating some cash to the gallery(there is a donation box as you leave) and not asking more questions about the artists and their pieces from the friendly guy sitting down in the gallery as I perused the work. Trust.

I’ve been to many, many shows here, and I try to regularly check it out. The gallery has a reputation for edgy sculpture. You can see some Sculpture by walking by on Elm street. There is a free parking lot on the street, which is nice. The shows inside are gems, curated by Robbie, who has a discerning eye. Good artists, several who are well known for their work show here, and they have a reputation for good neon art, metal sculpture, and uniquely created prices. A great find for a collector of modern work.
