Updated review 06/21/2016 We returned to Mimi’s tonight and the parking lot was deserted. We walked in and were asked to sit and wait for a quiet booth because a large crowd had just left and they were resetting the tables. After a long twenty minute wait(we were the only guests waiting and there were a dozen tables in the dining room to the left that were open) we were taken to a booth in the bistro area. We ordered and had just received our drinks when the staff and a table of people got so loud and boisterous at the bistro bar including dancing and exclamations for a prolonged period that we simply ceased our conversation for lack of the ability to hear one another. Finally, after about five minutes of extreme rudeness by both staff and guests, we started to talk again, only to be interrupted by staff and a couple who were looking for lost paperwork at the booth behind ours. Other staff members came over and another loud interruption to our evening ensued. At that point, I was quite upset and asked for another seat. My husband was seething, and the other couple at a booth behind us heartily agreed with our ire. We were shown to a booth in the back room in the corner, but had to carry our own dishes and drinks, etc. No apologies. No efforts on the part of Mimi’s staff to cut the noise level. I would have liked to speak to a manager but apparently the lunatics were in charge of the asylum. We ate our disappointing meals(really, how hard is it to make decent meatloaf?) Paid our check, and left. I will not be anxious to return and that disappoints me because up until this incredible failing, I liked Mimi’s as a place for a QUIET dinner out with my husband. After all, it’s not a burger joint and the employees at In and Out exhibit better decorum. So very disappointing! Beware!

Well, this was a huge miss. The chicken in the chicken and waffles tasted frozen and flat out gross. We returned it for steak and eggs. The steak was cooked, the eggs were not. Raw and runny. Their were huge hard chunks of avacado in my guacamole. The waitress barely stopped at our table. Mimi’s won’t be an option for breakfast next time, and probably for a while.

Just ate breakfast here with my boyfriend and we were pleasantly surprised with the décor. We drove by this place numerous times wondering if it was any good. We were seated within 10 minutes and had our food within 10 minutes as well. Great mimosas, awesome food and service. We will definitely be coming back!

I’m giving 2 stars because tonight was not my first time at this place, and past experiences were somewhat better from a service standpoint. Tonight I had literally the strangest restaurant experience of my life, so that was… Interesting? Tonight at dinner I ordered chicken and my husband ordered salmon. Our server came back with two orders of chicken. Now, we both spent a good portion of our early 20’s working in restaurants. People make mistakes. I am a good customer. I would never intentionally make a server feel bad about an honest mistake. Things happen. But. When we pointed this out to him, in what could not have been a more relaxed and casual tone, he LOSTHISMIND at us. Like, it was almost as if he knew he’d messed up the order and had pre-planned a speech for us. Before we could even finish saying«oh, hey, actually he ordered salmon – » he shot back with… «NO! You ABSOLUTELY said you wanted the SAMETHINGASYOURWIFE and then you POINTEDTOIT. YOUDOUBLEDDOWNONYOURORDERANDGOTTHESAMETHING.» I mean. Like, there are two of us who have good memories of the order that was placed not 15 minutes prior. I remember hearing my husband say salmon, and I certainly know that he didn’t pick up a menu and point to the chicken. Also, what does«doubling down» on our order mean?! Where am I? What is going on in the world? It was just so aggressive and out of nowhere to be screamed at like this that we were just kind of like«okay… he’ll just go with the chicken» and then felt awkward and terrible for the rest of the meal? Just. This made no sense. We were never mad at him or in any way behaving like we were upset… at all. Just kind of wanted the thing that was ordered, I guess. Like. What? Is that too much to ask? Was it our fault for wanting wha we ordered?! It was the most bizarre thing. LESIGH, Mimi’s. Anyway, after this bizarre episode our waiter didn’t return for quite some time.(Which was fine with us, we weren’t in the mood for more strange behavior.) We were honestly just ready to get out of there. This was coupled with an initial 45 minute wait for a table when there were at least 20 empty tables in the place. I mean you guys, the thing is when people go out to eat and spend money on a Saturday night you need to treat them at least… Like customers. Don’t be on the attack, and if mistakes are made just say«oh my gosh, I must have misheard you what can I do to correct it?» When I was a waitress years ago, even if I was 100% certain that a customer had been incorrect about something, I would have still treated them as though they were in the right. «The customer is always right» is a known phrase for a good reason. In this specific case it was just so far out of line and unnessesary. Mimi’s isn’t fine dining and I only expect so much from this sort of place, but certainly you shouldn’t feel berated at any place you are a paying and polite customer. Really disappointing.

My wife and I went out to dinner to Mimi’s yesterday like we do every once in a while. The food was good, the ambiance was comfortable but the service was well below par. I asked for a cup of my favorite French onion soup for a starter, plus a blue cheese burger for my main meal. My wife ordered a salad for a starter along with grilled salmon for her main. When the server girl(who shall remain anonymous) brought out the meals we realized it was only the main dishes. I asked her about the starters assuming she had forgotten them and she responded with a weird«I only have two hands». Then she brought out the starters. My point was that the starters were to be delivered first, then later followed by the main dishes, not the other way around. But I said no more, as she obviously hadn’t gotten the best practices memo yet… After we’d finished dinner it also took forever to get the check/credit card processed through; a pet peeve of mine(I see no reason why the check couldn’t be processed in under five minutes). I’ve had better experiences at Mimi’s before. I think this day was an off day mostly due to an inexperienced server. — Cheers!

Not impressed at all, this seemed to be a good idea to enjoy a good breakfast with the family but I must say the food was not impressive at all. We ordered a few omelets and they were average. I could have ordered an omelet similar to this from another diner and paid way less. The server was busy chatting away with an elderly couple next to us and I really don’t think hearing about her life was necessary during our entire visit. I will probably not come back ever. I think the décor and location are great and pretty clean. Sorry Mimi’s I wasn’t impressed.

Food was ok. Crepes were a bit dry. Ordered the turkey bacon mushroom ones. They brought ones with ham. Had to send it back. Offered me a muffin while I waited. So I took them up on it and asked for the blackberry muffin. It came so hot you couldn’t pick it up. It just crumbled into little pieces when you touched it. So I are it with a fork. It was ok. My kid ordered the cinnamon French toast. 2 small slices on a large plate. The ice coffee was terrible. It was like drinking water. No coffee flavor.

I see there are some mixed reviews but my dinner tonight was pretty good. It was not that busy for a Friday and the hostess was very courteous. Our server was great and out food was fast and pretty dang tasty. I had the roasted chicken with the fritas(fries really). Bread was fresh and tasty and overall a great dinner.

I’m writing this long overdue review on this place. If Unilocal had a zero-star option, this would be it. We, my dad and I, came here back in early February and we haven’t been back here since due to the obnoxiously horrible shitty service we received the night we came here. It all went like this: It was Friday, February 12, 2016 around 7:30 pm and we walked in to be seated all the way in the back. My dad requested we be seated in the front by the bar so we could watch the game. The hostess was nice about it and accommodated us. That’s what the one star was for. However, everything else went to hell after that. Our waitress not only took FOREVER to take our order, but she pretty much never came back except to drop the check off. She also didn’t offer a bread basket, never refilled our drinks, and took forever to drop the check off. My dad thought this was unacceptable because of how much we frequent this place. He spoke to the female manager and she said«This is the reason why I did not want anyone to be seated over here… there’s a huge party…» Blah blah blah. That is no excuse for extremely shitty service. Then, she offered us four muffins that were DROPPEDONTHEFLOOR. They still got us another four muffins but regardless, everything was beyond sub-par. Moral of this story: We definitely won’t be back.

They used to have decent food but something has changed. I ordered salmon with frites(fries). The salmon looked unappetizing and the fries were old as though they’re leftover from the day and microwaved. The manager was rude to the hostess and not friendly nor hospitable. The window sill is full of caked on dust and grime.

Management here is poor. There is always a wait when the restaurant is half empty due to the manager not staffing enough servers. This is not the hostesses fault like I saw in a review below. I came here one time and got seated and after ten minutes of not being approached I asked the hostess to move me to a different section. Why wouldn’t the servers want people in their sections? Don’t they work for tips? Or maybe they are just so bad at their job they never get any. This location gives mimis a bad name! Train your servers on customer service and staff more people when needed!

Love this Mimi’s. The manager, Hymie, does a great job. The staff has been wonderful, and I don’t mind waiting for a table because the seating in the lobby is comfortable, and more outside. I’ve been to other Mimi’s and find this one to be the best. We appreciate the full bar. The Fire Grill Seafood Skewer dish was prepared perfectly today, as was the Hash Benedict. Kudos to the chef. On rare occasions the fare has been overdone, so I always add, «Don’t overlook the corn.» The muffins are always fresh. The free entrée coupons are very generous. You can’t beat the prices. Love the country French décor. Appreciate the bathroom updates. Just a very comfortable restaurant to be in. Never feel rushed. Great casual dining and affordable. Will be making reservations for Easter Sunday.

I loved their eggs benedict corn beef brisket! It was creamy and tasty especially when I delved into the pouched egg. Mmm yolk cream heaven the only upset was the waitress forgot to bring my stack of pancakes with walnuts but no worries she made them complimentary in other words on the house. Very friendly customer service and I got an apology from the manager with complementary muffins. Defenitly appreciated! I’ll be coming back soon.

This Mimi’s used to be good, but now the service here is suffering and the food is now marginal at best. Even one of the employees tell us that the manager does not know how to schedule the staff properly. If you are in no hurry and feel like waiting, and waiting, and waiting, then have at it…

The restaurant was very good and the waitstaff was knowledgeable and very attentive to our needs. The ambience was very pleasant and the restaurant was clean. The kids meal was large and had many kid friendly options.

We have been coming to Mimi’s since we moved here in 2004. We really enjoy the new menu as well as the relatively recent change in décor. But the biggest problem is the fact that the people working as hosts and hostesses are completely worthless. Even when there is no crowd and the restaurant is half full, we’ve had to wait because they don’t know how to seat customers. Putting two people at a large booth when there are smaller tables available, causing larger parties to wait is the norm. Telling customers it will be a ten minute wait but actually turns out to be thirty is not a small difference. Putting two parties down on the list with the same name and number of party members causes confusion and frustration at best. These kind of experiences have happened consistently over the past ten years. The table service has improved over that time but something still needs to be done about the host station or they are going to lose my business.

Oh Mimi’s! There is so much potential. You’re trying so hard. Giveaway coupons. The new menu for robust American tastes, reasonable prices… My big complaint. You haven’t dusted in,.years? Why are there cobwebs on the shutters? Sitting in a booth, I could see the film of dust from yards away. Here’s a fabulous location, a cute, free-standing building, and it’s so dusty I’m coughing. My advice: axe the shutters. How about wovens? I would like to see this restaurant succeed. It’s house Pinot is as good as anything in wine country– their own French label. The beef bourguignon as good a Marcella Hazan’s. The décor, lackluster at best, a local diner without table polish. I have a great house cleaner, maybe they’d like her number?

This is only restaurant that i aware of that serves compromised food. I got food poisoning from the meat ball. Only reason I went in, because after my complaint for serving a spoiled lettuce, i received $ 10.00 gift card. I made my self sick again, ignoring my prior experience with spoiled lettuce. Without any hesitation, this establishment have served a spoiled food and must be banned from operating. Shame on Mimi’s

I haven’t been to Mimi’s in a very long time. My wife suggested a return for breakfast so I was up for it. The moment I walked in, I noticed some changes. They had done some nice remodeling since the last time I was there and everything seemed to be clean. There was a full bar, they spruced up the décor a bit and the entry was more customer friendly. As we were being seated, very quickly I might add, I passed the bar which said it had a HH all day, every day. Nice. Service was great. They were friendly and fast with the food. We ordered the nutella + strawberry crêpe. It came with a side of tasty potatoes. We also had the strawberries and cream waffles, with eggs and bacon. It came with 4 excellent, thick pieces of bacon. I’ve been to too many restaurants lately with subpar bacon so this was a relief. The crêpe and waffles were very good too. But the mocha latte tasted like hot chocolate out of a machine and the caramel latte was just meh. Overall, I was impressed with Mimi’s compared to my last visit many years ago. So much so that we already returned again for another breakfast visit. They have definitely made some good improvements to their menu and décor. Someday, I will come back and try their lunch or dinner menu and update the review.
