Won’t ever step foot in these doors again. Service was terrible, wouldn’t give me the time of day. Cops and firefighters are blue collar people, by nature, and service means a lot to us. Terrible prices, lousy selection, and a resistance to ordering anything. Save your time.

I only shop here when I’m in a bind for certain items. I recently bought an item and had to return it due to incorrect size. Larry graciously took the return and refunded me. I checked the online price at another local retailer(LAPG) and discovered the item was 20% less. This is the same theme for most items I’ve researched before purchase. Bottom line: employee Larry is nice and professional, yet Emergency Wearhouse is severely over priced. Hopefully they’ll make their prices more competitive in the future.

I was hesitant about checking this place out after reading the reviews, but being the only public safety uniform shop in town, I gave it a try. I called ahead to see if what I was looking for was in stock and the employee who took the call was courteous, and helpful. The store not only had what I was looking for, but the inventory(uniforms, equipment, etc.) was better than I expected and well organized. The prices were reasonable and although the shop was busy with customers and phone calls, the employee working was attentive and efficient. I’ll return to this place in the future.

I hate going to businesses when they say they’re open at a certain time and they never are! This business has to be one of the worst ones when it comes to that, and customer service is not that great! It’s good for a one stop shop but be aware. They mess up on orders and give you wrong dates!

I hate coming here because of several bad experiences in the past but it is local so I still make the trip here sometimes instead of driving into LA. They have all the basics on hand: uniforms/patches, boots, flashlights, holsters, etc… There obviously is no problem with them if you want something they have in stock. No one can screw that up. You take it to the counter and pay. Done deal. The problem is when you ORDER something from them or you are expecting a shipment in. Long story short, I came in to get sized up for 3 new uniforms(pants and shirts). They told me it would be a week because they had to send the uniforms to their tailor. I was given a call the day they were supposed to be ready and was told that«yes they are here and ready». I came in the next day to pick them up and the guy was like«hmm I can’t seem to find them. Are you sure you didn’t pick them up already?» Umm, yes I’m sure I didn’t already pick them up. Are you kidding me? He looked for them again and tells me «I don’t think they are ready yet because they aren’t here» and I’m like«well I was told via phone call that they were ready and they were here». THEN he says«ohhhhhh you know what? I think we gave them to someone else who walked in here looking for 3 uniforms also.» What??? My last name is right on the uniform, how could you not check that or the paperwork to make sure it is correct before sending it out of the store? He is like«Hmm I’m not sure, but that looks like what happened». He tells me he will contact me when they«track them down». This whole thing just seemed very unprofessional to me. Two days later I call… nothing yet. The next day I call and they say«yes they are here». So I go to pick them up and sure enough they are sitting on the rack. And guess what he tells me «You know what? They never even left the store, they were back here on the rack the entire time, somehow they must have gotten misplaced behind these other uniforms». Absolutely unacceptable. I’ve also had issues where they are out of stock of something and ask when will it be in? «Oh we should get a new shipment in three days». I call 3 days later. Nothing. I call a few days after. Nothing. When will you be getting these in? «umm we haven’t gotten any shipments recently and I don’t think we will.» Ok thanks for wasting my time. I’ve called them on the phone before to ask if they have a certain product in stock and they always seem clueless. I always get answers like«ummmmmmmmmmmmmm, I don’t think so.» Or «Uhhhh, hmmmmm, I’m not really sure but I don’t think so» Well can you check? «Hmmm yea we don’t have it.» And you know what the kicker is? Even after ALLLL of this I still find myself coming into this store occasionally because it saves me driving about 35 – 40 minutes away. I would suggest coming in here only for items INSTOCK.

Even after reading the negative reviews, I took a chance. I was in a bind to get some new Ebeco uniform pants. How could they screw that up, right? I was fitted and Larry was nice enough to suggest that I walk the items directly to their tailor(SCV Cleaners) for hemming if I wanted a quick turnaround time on alterations. Everything worked out, and for that, I can give them the credit they deserve. Their inventory is very limited, but if you know what you need, it saves a trip down the 405 to West LA or Long Beach to the«other» uniform shops…

What a pain in my butt this place was!!! I came here to avoid having to drive all the way to downtown to code 7 or quartermasters… I know better for next time. I came in to buy 2 pants, 2 long sleeve shirts and boots. They had my size pants but the shirts they had to order which was fine. No boots, not much of a selection. Anyway I got fitted for the pants and asked for zippers and a hashmark on the shirts. They told me the uniforms would be ready for pick up in a week and a day. I returned almost 2 weeks later because work kept getting on the way only to find out the order had been lost. I was in desperate need for the uniforms and couldn’t wait another week! I was pissed. They had to once again fit me for another set of pants and of course they were still out of the size shirts I needed(2 weeks without a shipment?) and was told they’d be ready for pick up 4 days later at SCV cleaners. I show up to the cleaners and the uniforms are ready but no hashmark on site. The cleaners told me uniform wearhouse were supposed to put the hashmarks in the pockets of the shirts but never did. So once again I find myself without a full order. Thankfully the cleaners were extremely helpful and figured out a way to get 2 hashmarks for my shirts and had them ready to go in less than 24 hours. Over 400 dollars and 3 weeks to complete my order. Their excuse? The Sheriffs academy had them really busy. My uniforms are blue, kind of hard to miss in between a sea of tan and green. Next time I’ll be making a trip to Galls or Code 7. Good news is, SCV cleaners gained another customer. They were awesome.

Very disappointed. Every time I come in this place it’s the same ol excuse, «I just sold the last one yesterday, I’m expecting a shipment tomorrow.» When this place opened it was great and fully stocked. The prices were a lil high but I didn’t mind paying cuz it was close by but now I find myself making needless trips. Sad to say its quickly becoming equivalent to «the cop shop» which sucks even worse.
