I do not normally write reviews, but I was so upset after my meal… My husband was feeling sick and thought a nice bowl of sinigang would help. We decided to call in our order for pick up. We were so excited when we got home, but was so disappointed when we opened it up. The broth was bland. There was barely any vegetables and the«meat» was actually 90% fat. One piece of meat was so unappetizing that I stopped eating. Never will I ever go there again.

I came in with my friends yesterday for lunch, hoping for something delicious and filling, and left disappointed. This is my second time at Toppings Tree and I have to say that it will be my last. I ordered the chicken chop suey. There were maybe three pieces of tofu and four pieces of chicken that came with the dish. The flavor was bland and for $ 1.00 to add chicken, I expected more than paying $ 0.25 per itty-bitty piece. Also, for a mostly veggie plate, mine was the last to come out, leaving my friends in that uncomfortable«should we eat, or shall we wait» zone… never good. My friend who ordered the salt and pepper pork also said that her dish came out super greasy and the breading was too thick. Another thing that really bothered me was the fact that they didn’t come by to check on us or refill our water. I understand that we are in a drought, but when we are the ONLY table in the place, come by and check on us. There were at least three staff members in there and not once did they come by. My water cup was empty 5 minutes into sitting down and I never received a refill. When we were done, we awkwardly waited for the check but it never came, so we thought that perhaps you had to go up to the front to pay. One of the staff members saw us getting up and ran and got the check for us. Rather than coming back to collect the check he just stood behind the cash register. We were on our lunch break and needed to get back to work so we walked up to him and paid for what we ordered. PLUS: The prices were OUTRAGEOUS. In essence, I paid for a big bowl of steamed veggies and paid almost $ 12… that is insane! Needless to say, the poor service and lackluster food left me with a bad taste in my mouth(literally) and I will not be coming back.

Review is based on taste of the food. I ordered an apetitizer ‘siu mai’. All I got was something that looks like siu mai, but it was still frozen inside. Definitely not fresh at all. I’ve had other frozen siu mai that was 10x more delicious than what I had. Very bland and no taste at all. In regards to their service, it also sucks. We had to flag a waiter down just to order. I also received my scramble eggs and shrimp 15 mins after two other people who ordered after me. They ordered diniguan and chop suey. Didn’t know it took that long to make eggs. They also gave me the diniguan first which I didn’t order. Horrible service and I will not come here again.

Came here over the weekend for lunch. It was quite a wait but after eating their food, I know why. My family and I started with the calamari, lumpia, and the sisig and although I didn’t eat the sisig, the calamari was to die for! Even my two-year-old son loved it, he actually preferred it over the lumpia! They didn’t have the small skimpy calamari pieces either. We’re talking about you need to use a fork and a knife kinda big! Next we got the beef nilaga which was very good, the beef was nice and tender and you didn’t have to fight to get the meat off the bone. Kare-Kare was good but I prefer mine with oxtail. The milkfish was also delicious. In addition, the java rice, which is a red garlic rice is also good and a nice complementary to the dishes. I suggest you go here hungry. However, you will still go home with extras because that’s just how big their portions are. The prices are very reasonable so don’t expect that you’ll be breaking your wallet here. Of the many Filipino restaurants I’ve eaten at, by far this is on my top three.

I love this little restaurant here by Homestead and Monroe(close to Justins). Toppings Tree is one of the few Filipino restaurants here in the South Bay that I enjoy the most. First, the parking is convenient because it is within a plaza. Second, the staff there knows their craft, so you can ask them anything(especially if you’re not Filipino) and they are more than welcome to assist you, or better yet recommend Filipino dishes that will surely satisfy your senses. Third, the food is actually authentic Filipino food! Might not be the best Pinoy dish you can taste(nothing beats your Lola’s cooking IMO), but it is there as comfort food. Also, the serving is quite big, so expect to bring some doggy bag(typical Filipino tradition). Lastly, it is quite affordable, so the bang for your buck is quite worth it. I suggest you go there really wanting some exotic Filipino food so that you can enjoy and indulge! Heck, if nothing else works, try the Halo-Halo(don’t ask what it is, just try and experience it)! Indulged on-everything! Last time I was there though, I went for the Tocino and fried egg on java rice(or steam rice if you want to). Tocino is cured pork, and although it might look red, it is f-ing awesome! And for dessert, try Halo-Halo with Taro/Ube ice cream… mango is good too…

Holy cow I love this place and I’m still going to give this place four stars. Even after the bad Pork Adobo did give me the runs for an entire week. Which is ok, because At the time I was doing ‘The Biggest Loser Challenge’ at work and lost 10 lbs during the last week of the challenge. Yeah me! Thanks Topping tree for helping me win second place!

Be forewarned that this location is no frills establishment. There isn’t much of any ambiance compared to Tapsilog Bistro in Campbell. However, they offer a good variety of Filipino food! Since I was by myself, I decided I was going to order a «silog» plate and Halo Halo. So, I started with a custom order consisting of Longanisa and Lechon Kawali. The rest of the plate came with scrambled eggs, Java(garlic) rice, atchara, and the usual accompaniments for the meats. My order had so much food that I was only able to eat half of it. Needless to say, I had to forego the Halo Halo. So, the next time I come here it’ll be with the fam so that we can try more foods and the dessert! Service is so-so and very casual. After taking my order and delivering my food, I didn’t see my waitress/server. In fact, i ended up getting the To-Go package myself since I saw a bunch of them on the counter. Again, the reminder that this is a no frills restaurant. As mentioned, I never saw my server again so I went up to the front and paid for my bill. So, tip accordingly!

Good food, reasonably priced, and friendly service. Can’t ask for much more. If you’re in the mood for some Filipino food, this is a solid choice. The java rice is a must.

I don’t even know where to start! This place seems to be understaffed, so that maybe could have played a role with their service. The silverware did not seem to be thoroughly cleaned. I saw spots so I decided to wipe it with napkin. I also ordered some mango juice, and they just gave me a cup with like 3 blocks of ice and a juice pouch. I mean pouring in the cup would have been a little more ideal. Not to mention their water did not come with ice. Their deep fried lechon was delicious, I’ll give them that. Their kare kare … I’ve had better but it was acceptable. But their palabok is definitely not their speciality. It smelled kind of funny and it was really hard to stir. Me and my aunt ordered those 3 dishes and it was really hard for us to finish. So we decided to pack it all, except the palabok. We both felt like it was going to just take up space in our fridge. The lady was professional enough to ask us why we decided not to take the palabok and we told her it just smelt kind of funny and she kindly apologized. She and the delicious lechon are the reasons why I’m giving them 2 stars instead of one. I don’t really think I would come back here. But if I did, I would recommend getting the food togo. And go else where if you crave palabok!

Went here for dinner on a Monday night, I have been to the one in Union city(Toppings Too) which is great but the restaurant is tiny! So there was four of us and we ordered the following: tapsilog, sinigang, sig sig, chicken adobo, lechon kawali ala carte. JAVA rice all the way! We had our Filipino food fix satisfied. Tapsilog, was caramelized on the edges with some nice char. Pork sinigang, was more sour than tangy but still satisfying, the meat was loaded but not enough veggies to balance the huge bowl. Tad bit salty even with rice. Sig sig, by far my favorite place for this amazing stuff, ask for it to be extra crispy and they will deliver! Chicken adobo, I had this to go and it was great, the right amount of soy sauce and sweetness. Lechon kawali, well you have to really like chunks of fat just deep fried! Once in a while I can stomach this pretty easily cause its delicious with that Mang Tomas sauce. The parking was fairly easy on a Monday on the side streets, but I believe Franklin square the lot across the street is fine to park in after 5pm, maybe? Enjoy and be HUNGRY!

Been to two other Filipino restaurants in the area I feel like I have a good idea what to expect. But this place BLOWS those other places outta the water in a few of there dishes that you must come to try. The sigsig here is 100% the best I’ve ever had! The flavor is out of this world. Sizzling plate gets your mouth water right away. The prices are the best with how large the portion are. The service isn’t the best nor the décor of the place. But heck?! Who cares when you have a mouth full of pork in you mouth? This is one of my mother in laws favorite. and like any great Filipino mother in law she’s very picky! So bring the family and enjoy a Sunday brunch.

Happy Tuesday to all! I’m not going to tell you to come here… or even tell you not to, I’m the type to share my experiences, and hopefully you’ll use it for when do you decide to come here. I had come here during SCU graduation weekend(06÷13÷15), so of course it was going to get packed, luckily a friend and I got there when Toppings had opened. Service — Though we had waited for our friends for about half an hour, the servers had come regularly every 5 minutes to see if we were okay, and if were ready to order. Which is a good thing, because some filipino/asian restaurants don’t even care and just wait for you to say something first and flag them down. Crispy Chicken — I’m a gout man, so I’m pretty limited on my filipino foods. The chicken was great, it seemed like it was pressure fried; really crispy outside and juicy inside. Comes with Jufran, if you don’t know what that is. Google it. Inihaw Liempo — You have to try this, it’s grilled pork belly, but you have to eat it fresh or else the skin will end up not crispy and tough. Comes with it’s own special sauce. Lechon Kawali — Always good, always. Served with Mang Tomas(Google it) Java Rice — Good, just a little on the dry side. Egg(–1) — I asked for sunny side up, they gave me over-hard. Service(–1) — Yup their service lacked when it came to us already having our food, we had to flag people down for water, and anything after. Plus I even heard their phone ringing over and over again. That could be a $ 400 dollar order…(Prolly not) — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — So all in all, I love the food, I hate the after food service, but I’ll be back again, because of their large servings, for big boys like me. Unilocal!

Toppings Tree changed my life. LOL This is a total hidden gem and was one of the most delicious meals I have had! So Shocked by the three star rating, but if this is average filipino food, I would love to see what five star is like. Anyways — We were unsure of what to order so we consulted the very helpful waitstaff. We ordered Chicken Adobo, Pork Tocino, Java and White Rice and Lumpia to start. This was WAY too much food for three hungry people. The Lumpia came out piping hot and were very yummy. A perfect way to start the meal. The Chicken Adobo was also delicious, you could tell it had been cooking for hours the way the meat just fell off the bone and the flavors were soaked into every bite. The Pork was the highlight of our meal! So crispy, so flavorful, such a delight! I crave this dish everyday! I preferred the Java Rice over the white, the hint of garlic was great. Service was wonderful. It seems like it’s family owned. It was also PACKED — which is a good sign. I will be back!

Good food, sucky service. Every time I come here the service sucks! Why serve good food if you’re not going to have good service?! I swear every time I needed something I had to either get up and get it myself or I would have to walk over to the counter and wait for someone to help me. –___– come on now! There was only 5 other people in the restaurant. 4 stars for the food. 2 stars for sucky service.

The beau and I came here on a random Sunday night and this place was packed with two huge parties! Our wait was estimated 30 minutes but because these parties weren’t leaving and it was nearing closing time, they pulled out an extra table for us. I ordered the pancit palabok. Pancit is my #1 dish at Filipino parties. I go back for seconds, thirds, and fourths! However I must’ve ordered the wrong type of pancit because this one was PACKED with shrimp paste. Super overwhelming so I scooped most of that off and it was way better. I wouldn’t order this dish again though. What grossed me out the most was our server’s thumb INTHESAUCE as she placed the dish on the table. Talk about unappetizing. The beau got chicken tocino and loved it! His face lit up when he took a bite of that chicken so you know it’s good! Java rice was $ 1 extra, and worth it according to him. The egg was cooked to perfection: over medium. It seemed like we were chillin’ for a loooong time and no one came by to check how we were doing. By this time, both huge parties had already left and we were the only ones in the restaurant. No one refilled our water. No one asked if we needed a box. Not even the check. The staff were talking and eating behind the counter. Finally, I made eye contact with one and he came over. We got halo halo and I’d have to say that halo halo saved their ass! It put me in such a good mood that I gave a generous tip. Ube ice cream — bomb! Flan — bomb!!! Little green jelly — bomb. Purple creamy stuff — bomb. Not sure if I’d come here to eat again, maybe just for the halo halo :))). I’ll have to ask my pinoy friends where the best Filipino food lies.

The five star merry giving to toppings tree reflects my happiness with the halo halo. Woot woot. I came here simply to satisfy my craving. I can’t complain about service because the restaurant was 15% full. I received my order in timely manner. I’ve been here 4 years ago and I had funny memories from what I can remember. I’ll be back to sample again!

My hubs found this gem of a restaurant while working & I’m so glad he did. I’ve eaten here a handful of times & always enjoy the food. The one time we had takeout I didn’t care for it as much, but then again I’m not a huge fan of takeout. It’s just never as good as eating it in the restaurant. Anyway, I’m all about their pancit & grilled BBQ meat selection. *Beware, sometimes the restaurant gets really smokey from the chef grilling away, in which case prepare to walk out smelling like a BBQ pit. Not cool if you’re a vegetarian, but luckily I’m not. Here’s a few of my faves: Pancit — there is a variety, from veggie to sausage. BBQ grilled meat — chicken, steak, & pork are all delicious. Garlic bok choy — yummers! Daing na Bangus(fried milkfish) — holy cow this is good! Lechon Kawali(deep fried pork belly) and of course you must save room for their Halo Halo — so good! Service can be slow at times, but I feel as if they’re slowly improving. My only gripe is that they don’t serve any wine or beer, would be nice to have an alcoholic beverage with my dinner on a Friday night. Other than that, I enjoy their food.

Feels like I’m in the Philippines every time I come to eat here. Maybe it’s due to the poor air ventilation & warm room temperature. Maybe it’s the décor & laid back ambiance AND service. Either way, I like this place and find it pretty good. Most of the dishes are served family style but you can also order individual plates. I usually order the fried fish balls to start off with(yummm) & the Sizzling steak that comes out with java rice. The Sinigang & Tocino are also pretty good. I’ve only recently started coming here & haven’t been able to try much on the menu so I’ll definitely be back!
