Really good Italian food! I came on a Friday and got seated very quickly. I ordered the Penne Italian Sausage, which was delicious. Before our meal, our waiter served us bread and garlic. The grilled garlic is yummy. Overall, the food and service was great. Their wine selection could be better, but still will come here again.

Oily oily oily food. Decent place. Grilled salmon was soaked in oil. Tasted ravioli with cream sauce as well.. Taste was okay, but the cream and the butter had separated to form an oily mess. over priced.

This place was crowded on a Monday night 6:30 pm! They start you out with some warm baked bread and a small dish of oilve oil. Tried the Baked Penne, comes in a rich tomato-cream marinara and slices of italian sausage and slices of large brown mushrooms. I liked the taste of this dish; both good tasting and satisfying. $ 14.95 al a carte. Tip: two medium eaters could split this dish. Décor: cramped but okay; there are ten little two seater tables along the front window. Maybe four tables for four. No italian kitsch! :( Customer service: friendly. Bathrooms: clean. Parking: ez

This place is easy to find and has a lot of parking available in the evening. I met with some friends because I really love Italian and was in the mood to try something new! My friends tried a couple different wines that they liked and got a bottle of chardinay. I just had an iced tea. They had deep fried artichoke hearts and leaves, and I just had to have it. They were AMAZING! So light and crunchy and the pesto aioli was out of this world good! Well worth $ 9.95! The special last night was risotto! It had roasted chicken, pancetta, and peas. It was delicious and rich. I had to take some home! It was about $ 15. A friend had the Artichoke Sage Tortellis.(They were huge!) and they had a great sauce and sun dried tomatoes. It was delicious too! I definitely want to come back!

Had the fried polenta to start. The polenta was good but the mushrooms were so good I tried to scrape every last bit of sauce up with a piece of bread! For dinner I had the baked penne. I’m more of a lasagne kinda gal so next time I’ll try that. My dinner companions had the gnocchi and the ravioli’s both looked good and everyone was happy. Then they brought out the cannoli for my birthday. Was ok but I was so full and it was very rich. Probably my now warped belly was saying no more so it isn’t a fair review. All and all its a quaint restaurant and definitely worth a try!

I love this family restaurant! My favorite thing is the Penne Marsala, but I switch the pasta for Fettucine! Yum! My husband and I love to come here on a Friday or Saturday date night. Their desserts are super yummy too, so save room!

Love this neighborhood Italian restaurant! Service is always great! Can’t believe I didn’t write anything earlier cuz I’ve been here at least 5 times. Everything I had in the menu has been delicious. Every time my dinner date and I come here, always great service. One time I had this seafood pasta with mussels, clams, crab, and salmon in it, I was expecting moderate portion, but when I got it, I was floored cuz it was huge and awesome! Had the fried calamari… mmmm delicious. Last time I came, I had the salmon with tarragon cream sauce… another great treat! This place is not terribly expensive and the food is always fantastic. The best part is, it’s near my house. Wish there hours were longer though.

There was a pretty hefty wait on a Friday but the people working there are super nice and friendly. Lots of people come here even tho it seems desolate but for a table for two you may be waiting 30ish minutes. What is interesting about this place is that it offers garlic cloves for your bread. I tried mixing the garlic with oil and vinegar but that was a bad mix. I ordered the seafood pasta and asked to substitute the shrimp for chicken– good choice because it came loaded with chicken. Still had my mussels and clams in there too. My bf got this wet burrito looking crêpe thing… it was too creamy for my liking so I would pass.

Sorry Mio Vicino but our dinner was awful tonight! My daughters ordered fettucine Alfredo and the sauce was an oily, curdled mess… It had broken(when the butter and cream separate) and was just gross. My husband ordered a rib eye medium rare and it was bloody blue when he cut into it. It was also super fatty. Our salads were decent but overdressed. We didn’t complain because we were enjoying being together as a family and didn’t want to make our kids and niece feel bad vibes. Service was so so. The clincher was when we got the check and the waitress had added 18% gratuity for a table of 6 ! We had not been there in a while and were excited to revisit and show my niece a good place near her school. Based on tonight, we won’t be back. Is there new management or owners ?? We used to eat there a lot. What a waste of $ 120 dollars!

Great local Italian Restaurant in Santa Clara. Kind of a small place with a strip of tables. Maye a little cramped. There is also bar seating. There appears to be a mix of regulars and lucky people that stumbled on this restaurant. They bring you a basket of complimentary Italian bread, which was pretty good. I ordered the Capellini Gamberoni, which was angel hair pasta with prawns, black olives, and sun dried tomatoes tossed in a pesto sauce. Delicious! The reason for the 4 stars is just because the restaurant is a little cramped. Best to get reservations and know not to bring a large group. We had 2 families of 4 and they had a hard time fitting us in. The food is excellent! Very much enjoyed the meal.

Great place for well cooked meal. I asked for Salmon, my favorite. It was somewhat of a disappointment to see the small portion Salmon sharing a large potion of mash potatoes, with the tasty vegetables filling the void on the plate. I have always found this restaurant to be well above average in quality and friendly service. Unfortunately, this night was out of sink with the price of $ 40. I felt thy missed there usual mark. I will return, because it is local and convenient. Hoping that next time it will be a better value.

We tried Mio Vicino after hearing about it from a few friends. For starters, Deep fried Artichokes was an interesting dish. It was kinda… hmmm…“interesting”. Crispy Polenta was a let down, it was not crispy, was soggy in a white sauce, didn’t really care for it! For the main course, we ordered Eggplant Parmesan, again soggy and too oily. Wouldn’t recommend it. The only thing we liked were Artichoke Sage Tortellis, which was pretty good and the side bread with a delightful garlic sauce/dip.

Not quite the neighborhood eatery I expect. Service is usually subpar. Came on a Wednesday afternoon. The crowd had died down a bit by 130p. I’ve been here a few times but I never know where to check in. Found a waitress, no greetings, felt like a bother to be seated at an open table. I had a hankering for some pasta but I didn’t feel like plunking down $ 15 for lunch.(I usually use a Valpak coupon at dinner to minimize the damage.) So I ordered a portobello burger instead. The food came quickly, it tasted great, and the portion was huge. While waiting for service so I can get the check, the waitress walked by and asked the patron next to me if he needed anything. She gave him his check, charged his credit card, and never came back to me. I couldn’t say that she purposely ignored me but I certainly felt neglected. It wasn’t even like she was busy because the whole restaurant only had 3 patrons at this time. Her tag team partner finally noticed me and I was able to pay my bill after significant delay. The thing is, the service here has never impressed me. This is probably the last straw. Mio Vicino pretends to be an upscale restaurant with its dim lighting and cramped space. I think I’ll stick to Fiorillo’s from now on. Fiorillo’s is similarly priced, has better service, and has a spacious dining room.

Let me start by saying that Mio Vicino used to be my go-to for date night and take out until I started noticing some signs of trickery… One night I called them to order take-out and decided to try their Cesar salad, which WASNOT advertised as your typical boring Cesar salad with lettuce and croutons. The menu describes a mouthwatering unique spin on the salad, «Our large Caesar topped with sautéed shrimp, roasted red peppers, leeks, basil, toasted pine nuts and croutons». So I called and ordered a small and what do I come home with? A little box of pathetic wilted leaves tossed in store-bought dressing and croutons. I was very annoyed with this experience because I would NEVER pay $ 6.50 for a few pieces of leaves. I don’t know why, but after this I decided to give them another try and ordered a pizza. I ordered one side with chicken and pesto, and the other margarita(tomato and basil). When I came to pick it up the waitress notified me that they ran out of basil. Superb. So I end up with a cheese pizza with tomato chunks on top of one side and the other side with pesto and chicken. On top of their lack of ingredients, they decide to charge me for their«garlic roasted chicken» pizza, a pizza with a mountain of four different ingredients when my pizza only came with one. A difference in $ 4 dollars. Cheated again. I’m sick of being overcharged here constantly. I feel cheated and tricked. Bait-and-switch is ILLEGAL. Beware of this business. This has been a constant problem lately.

Been coming here regularly for a while with my family and I figured it’s time I actually wrote a review. The ambience is pretty nice. It’s a cozy, intimate kind of setting. On the relatively small side(there are a total of around 12 tables?) The food is about mid-priced for Italian, so expect around $ 12 – 25 per entrée, with an average toward the $ 15 – 18 range. The specials are usually quite good– stuff like steak or pan seared salmon picatta. Quality and flavor are great but don’t expect huge portions for the price. One note is that service can be a bit slow sometimes, and the wait can be decently long(30+ minutes) on Friday and Saturday nights, but the service itself is solid. Definitely a to-try place if you’re in the area!

I like the customer service. They’re nice and quick. The food was quite good. Love the garlic bread. It’s crunchy: D I ordered chicken canneloni. It was different and unique, but it’s not really suit my taste. But I think I can miss that unique flavor :)

Food here is a solid 3.5 stars. Big portions for a reasonable price. Service is great. My company was even better. I love that they give you roasted garlic for your bread! So yummy! Ordered the Chicken Marsala Penne and it was pretty good. Bland for some, but perfect for my taste. My penne was slightly overcooked for my preference. Not a huge fan of the brownie and vanilla ice cream we ordered. Overly sweet. Next time I come back, it will just be for the pastas.

We visited last Saturday evening. Waited 25+ minutes for a table. Sat down and waited about 10 minutes to get our drinks. I asked for a food suggestion from our server(portbello fusselli), took it, and blech! It all tasted like it was dumped from a can/bag. Zero flavor and nothing I couldn’t make myself. Asked for extra bread and did not get it. Server never asked if we needed anything or how anything tasted. It was a struggle to get drink refills too; our glasses were empty most of the time. 3 people and the bill was about $ 50 even with our coupon. I felt very ripped off and would never go back or recommend this place to anyone.

Was surprised that the food was pretty good here. They don’t take reservations for groups with less than 6 so hubby went early and got us a table a table at 6pm. They gave us complimentary bread to start with. We dipped it in the oil and vinegar. We ordered the calamari to share. Nice and crispy. I ordered the chicken parmigiana which came with pasta and veggies. Chicken was breaded and crispy. Pasta was filling. The sauce was not too heavy. Roasted veggies was yum. Hubby ordered the mushroom fusilli. It had good flavor but hubby was expecting big chunks of portobello mushrooms. Mil and FIL ordered the seafood pasta and they both enjoyed their dishes. Service was good. Will probably be back to try some pizza!
