It looks super jank from the outside but the food is FIRE. Chapli kebab is my favorite hear, it’s a bit spicy too which is nice. However, they aren’t too keen on listening to any custom orders but the food is great so it’s okay

Best kebab buffet in a reasonable price. All should try at least once if kebab fan. They serve hot and fresh kebabs with some other menu. Their alo-paratha is also very delicious!

Very tasty lunch buffet! Nice variety of food as well. Each item had a good amount of flavor so they were neither bland nor too salty. Would definitely come here again!

Their Afghani pilaf is very close cousin to a famous Uzbek plov. I think they use barberries in this one also which separates it from the major crowd of mainstream pilafs. Coming here after growing up in Uzbekistan made me really miss the food from home, and dish like this one is as close as it gets to taste authentically like in homeland comparing to other places I tried around here.

Hell yes. Come here for a lunch buffet. $ 12/person or something like that. Ton of meat(beef/chicken/hot rices of types, hot bread) etc. Damn good food. Come with an empty stomach. Trust me. Go here. Leave happy.

I came to this place for dinner. Entrance to the eatery is through the market. I walked in and had to wait a few minutes before someone came to greet me and take my order. I didn’t really mind since I wasn’t in a rush. People working there were super nice and helpful. Pricing is very reasonable, considering what you get. Food was not too bad. I was a little concerned about the meat not being fresh(weird aftertaste?) but I didn’t get sick. The beef kabob was tender and tasted pretty good, the chicken was not bad, the beef koobideh was just ok, brown rice was good, and the salad was tasty but a little too soggy. Now, the biggest drawback is that the place wasn’t very clean and seemed a little neglected. One of the tables had leftovers but was eventually cleaned up by the waitress. The menu was all sticky(yuck), and the utensils could’ve looked cleaner. I hope the owners read my review and take my criticism into consideration. I really think this place has potential but it needs more proper attention and care. I will definitely give it another try, and hopefully I’ll have a better experience this time.

we came for lunch around 12:45. It was our first time trying this place, based on Unilocal reviews. the entrance to the eatery is though the store, and there was nobody ‘working’ there to help us understand anything. we sat down at a table, and nobody came by to explain anything or ask us for our orders, so we assumed maybe it was buffet only. we then proceeded to go up to the buffet, which had been completely picked over. there was no bread, no salad, no rice, most of the meat/main dishes had little to nothing left in them. again, there were no servers or anybody to ask, so we decided to leave. the guy at the cash register of the store seemed surprised we were leaving, but if you’ve got a certain amount of time for lunch, waiting around for who knows what didn’t seem an option. no food. no staff. no thank you.

This is a place that we’ve overlooked for quite some time until one fine day we decided to give it a try… and we are so glad that we did b/c we love the food here! Our absolute favorite and«must get» item is the chicken breast kabob. I don’t like chicken breast b/c it tends to be overcooked and dry. However Maiwand *consistently* cooks it to perfection. Every single time we have gotten this dish, the chicken is juicy and delicious. So it’s a *must get* item! Be sure to get it with brown rice and an extra side of their yummy white sauce. The other dishes are good too but we come here for the chicken kabobs and you should too :)

Visited Maiwand Kabab House for their iftaar buffet. Had a nice variety of brown and white rice, mantu, vegetable curry, and kebabs. Loved the kebabs, but they always ran out quickly. The chicken was very juicy and flavorful, and the beef kabab was nice and spicy. There was even dessert, a mango pudding which was a nice end to the meal. Will come back again for another iftaar soon!

Place really sucks. Dirty. Would not eat here due to hygiene. Prices are reasonable but hole in the wall . Food only 2 stars and deal breaker . I am taking my money elsewhere.

Great buffet. Great value. No fancy restaurant. Just a side room next to the grocery store market.

This Hole in the wall was hard to find, but the search ended with one of the best food experiences I’ve had in the South Bay. This unassuming place serves a Qabili Palaw that has a fantastic lamb Shank with meat falling off the bone, complemented by basmati rice seasoned with raisins, carrots and saffron that completely satisfies your sweet and savory palette. In addition, the Chupan Kebab and lamb was grilled perfectly. Absolutely recommend coming here! Btw: come ready with a loose belt because the portions here will be more than generous.

Recently had Chappli kabob, Bulani, Kabli Pulao, Chicken kabob… all were wonderful. The food arrived in 20 minutes, first came the Bulani and then the rest. Service was excellent… Nice cozy place for couple of families to get together…

Popped by to pick up a gyro. Fresh, tasty meat with crunchy veggie, and just a right amount of yogurt sauce… all for $ 4.99. Yeah, still rocks!

I used to shop at the market years ago and this side was still under construction. My work moved and then strangely Im back in the area. Well good thing is Im always down for a new good Afghan place. Since Afghani house closed down the way, this is the new game in town. Got the chopan kabob with white rice and the quabili pallaw. Both were super tasty. The bread is standard and it also comes with a small lettuce salad. Lamb in both chop and shank form were delicious. The place is a bit of a hole in the wall but definitely worth seeking out if you enjoy the cuisine. 4.3 stars

I have bought meat next door(not that great) and have once had a kebab when super hungry and had decided to never come back. Then I attended a party that had food catered from here. I had the best afghani rice and lamb curry. Even the salad was amazing. I might go back again to give this place another shot.

Must try the daily made Afghan Bread(aka Nan) We were here for lunch buffet which is rather expensive at $ 12.99 but the food was good and fresh. Love the Chapli kabob, Bolani and the Afghan rice. It was not busy during lunch time, the restaurant itself is clean, We also buy our Halal meat from here which are organic and beef which are grass feed. Owner is friendly and very helpful.
