There was no chef to make any of the ritos. That means I could only pick from a limited list… How are you in the food industry without a chef. Missed out on multiple customers.

I only get the Chirashi bowl here — it’s a huge portion that is easily shared by two people. The fish has been decently fresh when I’ve had it — it seems like most of the complaints are about the burrito. Tried a sushi burrito previously and was underwhelmed. I’m going to stick to Sushirrito for that, which is a shame since Cocoro Rito is so much closer to my house. It looks like their other menu items are 3 stars at best.

Have been here many times and was satisfied with the food each time. Today my partner and her brother ordered food and the service was horrible. Sat here and watched two families order their food after us and receive their food before the owner or manager got started on the two rolls that were ordered. When the buzzer went off I walked up and asked him why it took 20 minutes to get our food. Everyone else got their food before us even the people that came 5 – 10 minutes after we placed our order. If you have time to kill and don’t mind waiting for your sushi-rito this is a decent place to go. But if time is of the essence, I recommend and of the neighboring restaurants.

Had a kimchi beef rito tonight, and it was pretty terrible. I was kind of excited to try it, as it looked like Yum Yum Tree’s sushi wraps back when it was still open across the street from SCU. Unfortunately, they closed down a couple years back and I was devastated,(not really, but I still felt a small hole in my heart and stomach where their spicy California wrap used to be.) Anyway, I ordered it as takeout and got home about half an hour later. It was already pretty mushy and soggy, which I would have been okay with if it hadn’t been for the fact that 80% of the beef was pure grit. The taste was already kind of passable, but all the meat, which is the centerpiece of this sushi burrito, obviously, was literally inedible. I’ve already forgotten how much I paid for it, but I know it was at least $ 10+ dollars. Do yourselves a favor and do not buy the kimchi beef rito. I’ve never tried their sushi, but it looks pretty overpriced considering it’s a food court, you may be better off ordering the same rolls for cheaper at Hana’s down the street.

I’ve tried to give this restaurant a chance far too many times and have always been disappointed. The Japanese food is mediocre at best, especially considering the price, location and number of other high quality Japanese restaurants in the area. The food on its own is not very good, and the other reviews of it not being fresh are spot on. Multiple times, I’ve had a side salad with lettuce that is browning on the edges, or meat that tasted okay but you could tell it was bought a few days ago and left in the fridge. Just stop buying too much food every day and get fresher ingredients! It’s not rocket science. I’ve eaten here at least 5 times and each time, something is wrong. Whether it’s the stale food, the slow service, or the lack of passion that the employees display, I can’t give this place a chance anymore. Unfortunately, this spot in the food court would be better if used by another restaurant.

I do not enjoy writing poor reviews. But alas, this was not your typical place. I didn’t have expectations for a slow traffic, tiny food court business. But the food here was beyond bad. Perhaps I ordered the wrong thing… Seafood Nagasaki Ramen– swimming in a HUGE bowl of bland frothy(!!) red soup with questionable vegetables and seafood. It wasn’t even spicy or salty. There was foam floating on top… I ate a few bites and left it there. The size was appropriate for at least 2 pekple. But quite honestly, looked unsanitary. Spicy Tuna Rito– better seasoning but the vegetables were old and brown, the tuna was weirdly salty, and the whole combination was strangely soggy… ate a bite and had to let it go. Overall, a very bad experience… food was old, not that I expected fresh, and all elements of their dishes were beyond problematic. Sad to say this place seems nearly unhygienic and unsafe to eat at. I hope they can improve what seems like a menu with potential.

There’s something about sushi burrito’s that don’t give me that satisfying feeling that I get when i have a regular sushi roll. Maybe it’s that there was a lot more vegetables than the main part of the sushi(meat or fish). What filled me up was the veggies. If ever I decide to give this place a try again, I’m going to ask them to lessen the veggies and rice because j just read that you can do that option. I also got there fairly late so I missed their most popular spicy pork burrito. Hopefully next time around my order will be up to par! Overall, a good spot if you want something quick and craving an «Asian burrito» :)

This place reminded me of a Korean style version of Sushiritto. I’m knocking 1 star off because the roll I got had a lot of rice, and could have used more meat, veggies, and sauce in the center. Additionally, I came here on a weekday evening where there was no line, and had to wait almost 30 minutes for two rolls(minus another star)… 30 minutes for two rolls and nobody was in frot of me?

Meh. That’s probably how I would sum up my experience. Got a spicy salmon rito. It was pretty one note.

Those are some pretty bad sushi burritos… the taste proportions are off. Like the Roots’ album, things fall apart. It’s nowhere near fresh. The rice… is very college-student-made(rice is important for sushi!). Just a big no-no! My friend said it was a bad day and that it was better last time with a different chef, but hey, we’ll see.

Pretty good! Service was fast and the people were nice! 5 stars for service. I ordered the chirashi bowl. The portion is huge! I would say at most 3 people can share it. There’s a thin layer of rice at the bottom so carbs aren’t that big. The sauce that comes with it is pretty good too. Has a kick of spice and tang! Used a bit into the miso soup and that made it have a small kick. There was a lot of salad so that was a plus for me since I would prefer salad over rice. I believe the fishes that were used were salmon and spicy tuna. I think there is one more but I’m not entirely sure. I would give this a 4 stars because the quality of the fish didn’t meet my expectations, but it was really good for something you get at a food court.

RITOREVIEW: I came here solely to try the closest thing I could get to a sushirito locally. If you’ve had the original sushirito, this place won’t stack up to it, so try to come into this with an open mind! I got the spicy salmon rito, my friends got the spider rito and the teriyaki chicken rito. First off, our order took half an hour long… When we finally got it, they were definitely a little smaller than sushirito. The first couple bites in we thought, oh okay this is pretty decent. But the more we kept eating, the seaweed was very tough to bite into and tear apart so as we ate it would slide and all the insides would come out from the bottom and ITWAS A MESS. As for taste, the spicy salmon was flavored well! …but the fish didn’t taste fresh. The rice was also a little mushy… Overall it just seemed like spicy mush. Not a giant sushi. If I had to come back(after they improve) I would probably try the spicy tuna… from photos, it doesn’t appear to be as mushy and it looks like a solid piece of fish. If I could I would give this 2.5 but since I can’t I think I’ll round down… because although it wasn’t a horrible experience, I don’t think I would want to come back or take anyone here.

Rating based one one visit. I had one of their«Rito» dishes. A rito is like a sushi burrito, with a seaweed(nori) wrapper. I had the salmon skin rito and it was very good. A nice portion, the salmon skin was flavorful and crispy. A winner. It’s located in the Lawrence Food Court which is huge and seldom crowded.(I wonder how these places stay in business.) The ambience is not great — somewhat noisy, no décor, cafeteria-style furniture. Reasonably clean.

Food: 2.5 Was craving for hot udon noodle soup in this cold weather. I ordered the tempura udon with spicy tuna Rita combo for $ 12. It took about 15mins+ to prepare. The presentation looks huge! But I had a hard time fishing for them udon in this giant bowl. I think there’s too much veggie cluttering the bowl, and could use more noodles. Tempura has too much batter. The Rita was just okay, overall I wouldn’t come back ordering this again unless I’m deprecate for udon. I wish I’m in Hawaii now eating Marukame udon! Service: 2 I was waiting for a long time with no one ahead of me to take order. Here was someone behind counter just wasn’t serving me. They also goofed up on previous order with To go vs dining in and challenged the customer that the receipt showed dining in.

I paid $ 13.99 for beef hot pot(2 slices of beef that doesn’t taste fresh). Badly tasted combination of ingredients. And it took more than 20min of waiting to get it in a food court! Will never come back again. The only reason I gave 2 stars is just that is is a big portion.

This is actually an option at the Lawrence Plaza Food Court. This plaza is always very busy so parking can be hit and miss. To get your food, you place your order with them, pay and receive a buzzer. The buzzer will light up and vibrate when your food is ready. Food court seating. My order: Squid Ink Noodles + Pork and Kimchi Mini Bowl: $ 11.50 BF wanted to Pork & Kimchi Bowl and I wanted to try the Squid Ink Noodles so opted for the combo. We thought the noodles would be a smaller portion, but it looked to be a regular order size. One thing to note is that the noodles are not made of squid ink(they look to be similar to Somen Noodles). Instead this noodles are covered in a sauce that looks to have squid ink in it, though I don’t believe it to have a lot of actual ink since there was absolutely no flavor in the sauce and squid ink is on the salty side. The seafood in the noodles consisted of 1 mussel, 1 large shrimp(w/shell still on) and two tips of squid tentacles. The rest of the ingredients consisted of copious amounts of red and green bell peppers(which I greatly dislike). The BF thought the mini bowl was ok(at least it was more appetizing than my noodles). Do NOT order the Squid Ink Noodles as after several bites, I actually lost my appetite. I had to bring it home and add a bunch of seasoning to make the dish more palatable. =/ Oh, and I had a piece of hard plastic wrapping in my noodles too.

I’d also like to preface by saying that the other sushi burrito joint I’ve been to is Wrap N’ Roll in Sacramento… Wrap N’ Roll is still my #1 choice because of its selection and creativity. I still have not been to Sushirito in SF. ============================================================ This review is strictly about the Sushi Burrito. I’d also like to mention that I also ordered a Mexican Burrito from Dia De Pesca, and ate these two burritos side by side. The Winner? Hands down, Sushi Burrito. I’ve lost interest in traditional Mexican burritos. I went here on a Tuesday night so it wasn’t so busy. I was helped by a kind and cheerful clerk, which is always surprising at an Asian restaurant. particularly at a food court. I ordered the Spicy Tuna sushirito, and I requested for less rice. The chef actually made a point to fill it with more veg and sashimi for me. He delivered the food to me with a big genuine smile. Amazing service. Now for the food/taste…it was simply, superb! The problem with having less rice is that all the sauce on the inside leaks out. Even without all that sauce, the sushirito was just amazing. The spicy tuna, though, was somewhat spicy, and I do have a higher tolerance for spices. So for those who are sensitive to spiciness, don’t get the spicy tuna/salmon. Now for the freshness of the sashimi: I question the freshness of the sashimi since it was seasoned with spiciness. My taste buds aren’t refined enough to judge, but something tells me that it wasn’t brought in on the same day. That’s why I deducted a star. (Well the other half reason why I deducted a star is also because the menu selection for its sushi burritos is somewhat lacking and not very creative compared to Wrap N’ Roll… but when you’re craving a burrito, you can’t complain) My suggestion for those who are ordering: Request for less sauce and put the extra sauce on the side. After all, nobody really wants to just taste sauce. Overall, I had a great experience here. I was initially turned off by the rice to meat ratio, but as long as you request for less rice, I think it’s a definite must-try.

Decent Sushi in this Japanese and Korean food court off of Lawrence Expressway and El Camino. This is the first time I’ve been here and had the pleasure of tasting two rolls from them. Rainbow Roll — just the right amount of rice around the nori, unlike other places that uses rice as a filler for their advantage. Decent amount of fish, believe it was salmon, tuna, and yellow tail. The fish was fresh with decent thickness. Spicy Tuna — this is a normal roll with the tuna inside the roll. The spice level was normal and not diluted. I like spicy and my only«eh» was the wasabi. Most places don’t have fresh grated wasabi, which cost a lot. However, most places uses the powder and convert it to a paste and depending on how much water is used, it will result in the level of spiciness. The wasabi I got was not that spicy. Overall, I would give this place 3.5 for the items I tried. Enjoy!

I have really wanted to try a sushirito and was curious about this place, but of course the day I go, I’m not really hungry. I just wanted something to munch on and the sushiritos here are filling as I was told by the employee. They range from $ 8.50 — $ 10.50. I do like how they had combo deals where you get half of one and some sort of noodle soup or such, but the photo of the ramen did not look appetizing. I went with the smallest option they had which was just a 6 piece California roll. It was ready very quickly and they also provided me with the spicy mayo I requested. I’m not sure if it’s just because I didn’t have an appetite but the california roll was just okay. The rice seemed extra mushy which is a huge no-no in my book. I may come back to try the sushi rito, but service here was pleasant.

I was saddened by the fact that Cocoro Rito Sushi didn’t have many reviews probably because of the fact that it was new, so I wanted to try it for myself and see what Cocoro Rito was really like. Despite the poorly rated reviews, I actually enjoyed my sushi burrito a lot. I ordered the«Teriyaki Chicken» Rito for approximately $ 9.00 and although it was small, I can say that it was still somewhat filling if you’re looking for a meal to satisfy your hunger for a bit. The first bite was actually very satisfying, as they nailed the level of vinegar in the sushi rice just right, unlike other sushi places that either make their rice too plain or with too much vinegar. The vegetables and chicken that accompanied the sushi burrito were delicious as well. The only problem was that eating the sushi burrito can be quite messy. It’s like attempting to eat a burrito where all of its ingredients will fall out with every bite. But hey, gotta be messy to enjoy your food sometimes(cough Boiling Crab cough). So all in all, I think others should give this place a chance too! I mean, the only other place you can find a sushi burrito is Sushiritto in San Francisco, but why drive all the way there when you can get a similar one right at Lawrence Plaza?
