We have our go-to sandwiches here. I go for the #17 every time, and my spouse goes for the Italian sub mike’s way. We share, and it’s a win-win situation. I give it 4 stars for the sandwiches I get, because they have so far been fresh and tasty, but especially because I have a preference for how I want my sandwich cooked and heated. My sandwiches with special cooking requests are welcomed, and one employee in particular, I swear, makes our sandwiches better than anyone else there. So the 5th star is for the service. I have never dealt with an unpleasant employees at this location. There appears to be higher turnover, likely due to students coming and going as the seasons change. But overall, everyone has been courteous, pleasant, and shines bright enough in my memory(comparing to other sandwich places) that they are worth the extra tip, extra star rating, and our continued loyalty and preference for this location.

Good meat here, bread is alright. Exceptional service. I had the Chipotle Cheesesteak. Maybe this was not the best thing to order, would probably go with a cold cut going forward as they seem to taste much better.

Love the Chipotle Cheesesteak here. It is the best cheesesteak I’ve had in my life, but I’ll admit I haven’t tried that many. Their employee Jorge seems like a good man and provides great service.

When you opt for fast food, deli-type meals, you are not entering the shop with illusions of highly personalized service, stunning presentation, or memorable tastes. Nevertheless, The Jersey Mike’s experience reminds you, as you approach the order bar, that you are in for a rough ride. I opted for a wrap rather than a sandwich because three customers already at their meals, had removed the fillings of their sandwiches and set the bread to the side. The wrap was chewy, cold, and resistant to most of the relevant things I could think to do with it. The turkey was of the sort you see in market deli counters, a pallid off-white in color and much in texture like the wrap. Iceberg lettuce, shredded into clumps, was doused in what I later learned was honey mustard sauce, which used every orrortunity at its disposal to free itelf of its prison. «Ah,» the assembler of the wrap declared when I called it to his attention, «I may have overdone on the dressing. Next time order less dressing.» When I reminded him I had;t been aware I’d ordered ANY dressing, his solution was, «Next time, say hold the dressing.» Two bites and I’m awash in honey mustard, which require several napkins to contain. As I’m packing up the damages for the waste bin, another employee says, «So I gather you didn’t like your wrap. Next time, you ought to try a sandwich.» Isn’t going to be a next time, dude. I do not see a bright future for Jersey Mike’s Subs.

Food is pretty good, but almost every time I’ve gone in there my service has been sub-par. Lots of teens/college kids who just really don’t give a hoot and are rude. They push you through the line to start paying before you’ve even finished telling the sandwhich maker what you want, and then they proceed to finish making your food however they see fit while you’re not paying attention. My last sandwich was smothered in vinegar and olive oil, everything was falling out and all I could taste was vinegar. Not happy. Go to the one in Calle Real.

I was walking around state street and saw Jersey Mike’s subs. I was interested to see what they had to offer walked in was immediately greeted by the friendly staff. I ordered the original Italian(#13) but got turkey instead of ham. They loaded my sandwich with meat. I got a free cookie because it was my first time. My sandwich was great and priced so reasonable! I’ll be telling all my friends about it.

Done with Jersey Mike’s aka The Sub Nazis(State Street location in Santa Barbara)…I have eaten at this sub shop roughly a half dozen times. I have gotten my sandwich«my way» once.(they have a slogan«Mike’s Way» about their special«juice» dressing which is oil and vinegar and makes a soaked sandwich — like eating a salad with your hands). Apparently you must order in a certain vernacular based on «Mike’s Way»(e.g. «Mike’s Way with banana peppers»), or you can forget them giving you what you want. Today I tried«I’d like everything except onions and jalapenos» and the manager interrupted me and told the server«that’s Mike’s Way without onions and with banana peppers.» Since«Mike’s Way» includes the oil and vinegar, and I had already told the server«no oil and vinegar» I said«no, that’s not what I want» The manager interrupted me again, pointed to the sign board and said«I AMTHEMANAGER» Then he grabbed the sub away from the server and started salting and peppering it(I had also already asked for no salt and pepper) Incredibly rude, and after all is said and done, mediocre meat and cheese. If you want a deli sandwich, patronize locals like Three Pickles or Norton’s, don’t mess with this screwed up chain.(To their credit, both the server and the cashier looked very embarrassed, and both apologized to me)

Great food. Nice People. Fun. Simple to order. I would try the traditional cheese steak sandwich. It’s very good.

Being originally from the Garden State, and having worked in a pizza and sub shop there, I was intrigued to try Jersey Mike’s. First off, if you don’t know this already, Jersey Mike’s is a growing franchise of chain restaurants. They keep it simple, serving a variety of cold ‘sub’ or ‘hero’ sandwiches, and a few hot sub options for good measure. You could also elect to get a wrap, or have your sub ingredients turned into a salad bowl(Sub in a Tub). I prefer the #13(includes provolone cheese, ham, prosciuttini, cappacauolo, and pepperoni), served Mike’s Way, which includes shredded lettuce, tomato slices and sliced white onions, sprinkled with salt, herb blend(mostly oregano I think), olive oil and red wine vinegar. There are three sizes to choose from: Mini(3″), Regular(7″), or Giant(14″). You also have your choice of white or wheat roll. Being a chain, they run like a well-oiled machine. You place your order and the person manning the meat slicer cuts your roll, and slices the cold cuts individually(not pre-cut like you might see at Subway). He/she passes the sammie down to the topper who adds whatever veggies you’d like. In addition to «Mike’s Way» there are also optional mayo, mustard, pickles, peppercini, jalapenos, etc. Personally, I go with Mike’s Way for authenticity. Adding those other items makes it more like a Subway sub to me. For $ 8.25, this is very good sandwich. The keys to making it authentic«Jersey» are the oregano and red wine vinegar. Adding chips and a drink adds another $ 2.50.

Great location downtown with friendly staff. Perfect if you want to grab a sandwich for a reasonable price(~$ 10 for medium sandwich and drink). It’s more expensive than Subway but you can clearly taste the difference. There are also a few TVs up with sports playing on them and classic rock playing when I visited.

Being from NJ I have pretty high standards when it comes to sandwiches. For a fast food sandwich place, jersey mikes is pretty good. The state street location is pretty nice. They have tvs and its in the downtown area. If you want a quick sandwich on a hero roll this isn’t a bad place to go. Not quite like the sandwiches I’m used to from NJ but not bad.

Great food! The subs here are amazing. As an east coaster, it is rare to find a good sub over on the west coast. When we found he location in Goleta we were thrilled. Now that the location is open downtown, we couldn’t be happier! This particular location has great service. The guys in there are friendly and make you feel welcome. Very passionate about their product. If you want a great and adorable sub, this is the place to go!

Since the Italian Grocery closed a few months ago I have been craving a Super Deluxe with extra meat. Jersey Mike’s almost nailed it with their Original Italian on a white roll, I think it was the #13. I had it Mike’s way and it was delicious with a lot of meat and it tasted real fresh. For $ 8.25 it’s not a bad deal. If and when Tino’s Italian Grocery opens on Carrillo I’ll be sure to go back. In the mean time this place really hit the spot and satisfied my craving.
