I am so sad that this place is gone, honestly the coffee was always delicious and the service was beyond friendly. It was such a convenient location too!

Unfortunately my visit with friends and family was not positive. Young staff not aware of Groupon deal. Staff reflected rude attitude when they did not understand the offer. No manager present for guidance, no reply from manager or owners regarding matter. Staff needs customer service training.

If you like ice with flavor smoothies, you can go here. Otherwise I don’t recommend. Sandwiches are pre-prepared and not made by request. Service was not friendly at all.

Ordered a «large americano», got what seemed like a table spoon of espresso diluted in 24oz of water. Tasted like brown colored water. Ordered a «large americano iced», got what seemed like a table spoon of espresso diluted in water and ice. Tasted like brown colored ice water. Don’t go here for coffee, it’s more a place thirsty tourists to pick up bottled water, soda, ice cream bars etc. Those coffees I got weren’t cheap either. I feel like I got robbed.

Wonderful little coffee spot right near the beach. I has a yummy machiatto(a real one, not Starbucks BS) and enjoyed people watching on their patio. Julia was a sweet and personable barista. She made us laugh on our vacation. :)

Oh, be blessed the one, who made my Americano! Lovely coffee bar by the shore. Wish I was clever enough to stop here for breakfast coffee cup. Nice atmosphere and polite service.

Excellent service from a barista during my desperate search for an iced coffee on a HOT day. The woman cashier was not so attentive however. I wanted sweetened iced coffee but they only had yucky flavored syrups. She told me to add the brown sugar packets instead. I really did not feel like sipping on grainy iced coffee. I know I’m being dramatic here. The barista overheard and he came out and got the brown sugar packets. He melted them for me and put them in my iced coffee. Who does that?!? He really made my day.

Great inexpensive coffee! Served super hot, and it’s open 24 hours. I would recommend the café latte if you can’t decide what you want. The service was quick, probably because I was the only one in line at 9:45 at night. It also appeared to be a great place for people to go when they need to get work done. Lots of seating. Overall this place is a must if you are looking for coffee late at night at a decent price. And if you are not looking for coffee they have tons of other options.

Good music. Rich hot chocolate. Great coconut and caramel desert. Best way to end a date night!

The Starbucks next to my school closed for renovation and I’m not a fan I coffee bean so I came here to try out their ice coffee and I love it! It’s not too strong and they have an assortment of syrup flavors to try for free. They play they’re music pretty loudly so it’s not much of a study place but id definitely come with my laptop and hang out.

This is a great rustic coffee shop In SantaBarbera that we stubled on while looking for surf, roaming thru surf shops. The building and inside decore are great! I love the old buildings . I am giving three stars for the coffee and cookie. The coffee had a vanilla flavor and I added half n half and raw sugar, the cookie was chocolate chip. I got what I paid for so don’t use this review as a tool against this establishment, try it for yourself! its a fun place. Costumer service was great with friendly people that are interested in there customers and spoke with us. That is a big deal for me which I find to be rare in places.

Not about the drinks or the food! About customer service! This will be short — I just wanted to publicly recognize the man that was working 1−26−14 at around 3:30pm. He answered the phone and helped me out so very much, and he was polite, kind and wise, too :) He helped me connect to a person I love that hasn’t been reachable in a long time. I’m embarrassed that I didn’t get his name — the manager should know that they basically just acquired a new series of customers due to his compassion. With customer care such as that… you know where I’ll get my coffee next time I’m up there? Where I’ll recommend and suggest that people go? You got it — here, to Hot Spot. Customer service like this goes a LONG way. I hate that I needed it, but am so grateful that I received it. Thanks, Hot Spot Worker-guy!

Well this place is very simple sandwich and coffee shop with free wifi, and it has the added benefit of being close to the pier. However, it seems like there is an identity crisis. This place is running a balance between a tourist information center and a café and I was not sure which it is. Compared to other cafes close by, this one is on the low end, but like I said, it is close to the pier and it is also open more often than other cafes close by. Note: I didn’t have any coffee, so I can not comment on that. I only had a bottle of water.

This is a good place to get a smoothie and cold drinks that are fairly priced. I’d say it’s like a beach snack shop that you can grab something quick but that’s it. This place reminds me of a 7 – 11 but with way better options. You can use your debit card with no minimum purchase, which is cool. The cashier/barista was friendly and speedy and I’d recommend this small joint if your desperate for something cold to drink.

I love this place and their staff. Food and service were great but not my memory. I left my iPhone on the counter and took off for a day of shopping on State Street. PS, I have not been to SB in many years, and if the weather’s right, it’s tough to find a nicer town. So my wife and I have now been shopping for an hour when I realize I don’t have my phone. I immediately realize where I left it but know that there’s no way it could still be on the counter. No way, especially after the time that has elapsed. I return to find that Alvaro, the young kid behind the counter, saw the phone and took it to the back to hold for it’s rightful owner. There are angels among us and he works on State Street!

We ordered two drinks, they never gave us the second one(the smoothie). After 15 minutes, we asked and they said someone else must’ve taken it. Someone else took it… or you forgot?

Chill espresso stop at the end of State Street. Easy going staff and a not-so-serious coffee setup. If you just want to taste some basic coffee this will be fine. Not for the espresso drink enthusiast.

This has been a go-to place when my boyfriend and I head to Santa Barbara. It’s big, with ample seating and wi-fi. the prices and selection are average. The coffee is average, but the flavored hot chocolate is exceptional. I had coffee yesterday and was wishing that I had stuck with the tried and true, hot chocolate. I’m not sure if it’s a chain, but it has a local, college town vibe. I like that. The service is a bit hit and miss, but never awful. There are probably better place in SB, but this gets a lot of points for convenience.

I feel like this is just a tourist trap near the Wharf because its easily visible first thing walking down state, and they don’t know there are better options all around! Definitely a grab and go place(but really just a no-go place), the atmosphere is lacking and seating both indoors and out is dirty. Coffee and espresso drinks didn’t even look worth trying. Shared a large smoothie with the boy, figured smoothies would be more difficult to mess up and we hot & thirsty. The smoothie was anything but smooth. it was grainy and watered down. Everything is overpriced and low quality. They sell 99c(marked on the can!) Arizona tea for $ 2! realllyy?

Great little coffee house near the ocean on downtown state street. I never liked coffee much but when i was a teen I would come here and get the hazelnut coffee by the pint, it was like crack and i loved it. I have been back as an «adult» with«refined» tastes and it’s still a pretty good cup o joe.
