When we first walked in, I assumed that the pub only expanded from the entrance until the restrooms(ANNT, WRONG!!!) The restrooms hallway led to the live music performance, dance floor and additional seating areas. It was a nice surprise because we discovered the remaining of our party had arrived ages ago. Our waitress displayed great courtesy. She delivered our orders to impeccable detail. I was served the«BBQ Flatbread» such a delicious dish! The most memorable part of the night was the live music. The band played the Titanic song«An Irish party in third class –John Ryan’s Polka”(Rose dances to this in the basement of the ship) and some children in the restaurant twirled on the dance floor.

Fan of their corned beef and cabbage plate. Nice, chill pub-like atmosphere. I gave three stars because I’ve never been disappointed going there, but also never been blown away.

Awesome staff, talented bartenders, and great regulars? I found my bar«home» haha. Even at its busiest, the crowd is always in good spirits. They’ve got pool tables and Tuesdays are karaōke night. The food is good too :) there’s a parking structure right next to it, and downtown so the location couldn’t be any better!

Dargan’s is the best if you want to go to a good bar with good people. This is not the place for the sloppy. Tuesdays is karaōke night and I believe happy hour is M-F from 3p-7p. They have live bands play sometimes on the weekends… Thurs, Fri, and Sun but check before because sometimes they do not. You do not need a reservation here. Most of the bartenders have been there for a while and are good people. Lots of regulars. Good place if you want to have a tame night. Lots of TV’s to watch the games. Best for the young professional/mature crowd.

Menu has changed significantly, and does not reflect what is shown here at all. Prices are up, some of the things on Unilocal are not available anymore, and some of the items are only served Thursday through Saturday. I have dietary restrictions that make it hard for me to eat at restaurants, so we drove out here just for the two or three things I am able to eat on their menu, and none of them are available on a Sunday evening. The server informed me the menu had been changed a couple months ago, and they still didn’t correct the menu advertised here. Very disappointed… And hungry! I am sorry I have to give this low of a review as my fiancé was served a shepherd’s pie, and she said it was delicious. They pour a good beer, too, but the menu issue ruined my visit. I wish I didn’t have to spend a lot of time looking for yet another restaurant that fit my needs after spending so long looking for this place.

Who hasn’t hung out at Dargan’s, I mean really! This is a great place to get in touch with your Irish roots, though for me those are distant roots but just a hop and a skip on a ferry from England where I couldn’t get a better serving of corn beef and cabbage if I searched out the finest of pups and all the land, Dargan’s is Irie my friends. On St. Patrick’s Day, when in Santa Barbara, it is a tradition to get you some shots of Jamison’s and green beer at the James Joyce O’Malley’s and/or Dargan’s!

Typical locals style, no frills, good time, Irish bar. Stiff drinks, good prices, all of the expected bar amenities. We’ll stop in again next time we are in town.

Can you say COMFORTFOODONSTEROIDS? A menu full of new guilty pleasures, from the fresh corned beef on the Irish Nachos, to the luscious sauce in the Steak and Guinness Pie. Perfect atmosphere and attentive staff. Thanks gals and guys!

The morning after our wedding, we hosted a Farewell Brunch at Dargan’s. Yep, Dargan’s. Quite honestly, I wasn’t sure what to expect but I did all sorts of research all over Santa Barbara(City College Culinary School, many restaurants on State St., catering companies…) and all seemed unprepared and/or outside our budget. So we took a leap of faith and picked Dargan’s…and, it was incredible… perfectly done. When we came in, the pool table room was reserved for us. Breakfast was prepared in a buffet fashion, but not a lame buffet. They had put on music, left one pool table open for use, and we chose to leave the televisions off. Breakfast buffets are usually meh… but the food was legit. The fruit was fresh and plentiful, french toast was grilled perfectly on thick bread, sausage and bacon were high quality. Potatoes, eggs, coffee, orange juice… everything was perfect. Move over, Tupelo Junction and Scarlett Begonia. So what’s the only down side? Dargan’s doesn’t serve breakfast usually. A very sincere thank you to Paul Dargan and Kris Olsen for a wonderful, wonderful, experience. If you are looking to host an event, you too may be awed by what Dargan’s can offer.

We had brunch here, and i got to say they make some of the best French Toast I’ve ever had. Fruit was also outstanding.

I had a very pleasant experience here when I was visiting Santa Barbara. We stopped in to watch the Copa America 2015 final between Argentina and Chile. We sat at the bar and the Irish Gentleman behind the bar took very good care of us the whole time we were there. I had the spicy buffalo chicken salad and my boyfriend got the reuben sandwich, which the bartender recommended. My boyfriend enjoyed his sandwich and I was surprised at how much I enjoyed my salad. If I lived in the area I would definitely return regularly!

We were super hungry… and didn’t feel like searching all over for a place to eat. This place is right by the parking garage. So worked for us! We were greeted right away when we walked in. When we arrived it was not that busy. But the bar seating was pretty full. We were seated promptly and greeted by our server rather quickly too. Pretty good customer service thus far… :) We are at an Irish Pub, why not Irish car bombs? Or drinks came out fast and our server made sure we were good all the time. We ordered the onion soup to start. Well, the server forgot our soup. Lol. But she was very sorry and made sure our drinks were good, so we were good. :) lol. I ordered the chicken pot pie. First off, I’m not a fan of pot pie. I haven’t had pot pie in about 20 years. But I was feeling myself and in the mood to give it a shot… and it was delicious!!! This place has definitely made me reconsider chicken pot pies in my future. The top pastry was light and fluffy. The actual pie was flavorful and really good. Long story short, good food, good service… yeah, next time we are in S. B, we will be here. :)

Probably the most authentic Irish pub in Santa Barbara. I am basing this and pure atmosphere and ambiance. I love the name… a great Irish reference. When inside, all the wood makes it feel real comfortable and reminds me of some of the pubs that I visited when living in Ireland. The beers are on the pricey side but that is to be expected. It needs to be noted that this is a great place to catch some live music for free. This is a known thing in Santa Barbara and as a result solid local bands along with good crowds turn out. Not a place that I go to on a regular, but can be a nice spot to spend on a random Saturday or Friday night.

Came here for a bite and a pint during the last evening of my business trip. Great atmosphere — looked like an awesome place to come hang out, play pool, and drink. The bartender(Fielding, I think?) took excellent care of me and made some nice chitchat. Though I was dining solo, I ended up being surrounded by very friendly locals that I had some great conversations with. I had the lamb meatloaf, which was pretty awesome with its cabbage cream sauce, bed of potatoes, and veggies on the side. That and a Black Velvet(½ cider, ½ Guinness) really hit the spot. I’ll likely be back in the area for business many times, so Dargan’s has earned a spot on my «out of town go-to places» list.

This pub serves food & drink exactly like the pubs I used to frequent while living in Ireland. Very authentic(actually, Dargan’s food is better than most pubs in Ireland). I prefer the dining room next to the fireplace, but the bar and pool room are nice too. I like that they are separate rooms, so that those who want to drink and have fun can do so apart from those who want to enjoy their meal. If all Irish/Irish-style food tasted this good, the British Isles would be known for their cuisine. SOTASTY!!! My favorites are all on the Traditional Fare menu(Fish & Chips, Corned Beef & Cabbage, Shepherd’s Pie, Guinness Pie, Chicken Curry, OHMYGOSH my mouth is watering just thinking about it!), though their burgers & sandwiches are very good too(Reuben Sandwich, YUM!). Go during happy hour &/or on Thursday night when they have live trad! (trad = traditional Irish music)

NOTHINGLIKEENJOYING A COLDREFRESHING805INTHE805! BACKGROUND: Dargan’s in Santa Barbara was Established in October 1997, but the name Dargan’s has been associated with public houses in Ireland since the beginning of the 20th century. In 1927, Lawrence Dargan built a Pub and grocery to serve the small population of Cookstown, a market town in the north of Ireland. He and his family ran a successful business, well known locally as a center of Irish traditional music and craic(Gaelic for good times). The tradition has spanned three generations, with Paul Dargan, who moved from Ireland when he was 21, now STATS: Mon-Sun 11 a.m.-2:00 a.m. Private parking lot Bar Flat Screen TVs Pool tables EXPERIENCE: After a day of hiking the city streets of SB and Montecito and back to SB by way of the beach, followed by ice cream on the pier, and scoping out the annual Old Spanish Days on State Street, friends and I came here for dinner. The restaurant was relatively empty when we arrived, but by the time we ordered and received our food, the place was packed. Eyes glued to the TVs scattered throughout, by more than likely locals, hooped and hollered, raising their beverages in good cheer in support of their sports team. We were seated close to theentrance, near a window at a half booth, half bar stool table, which wasn’t really big enough for the four of us, but we made it work. Transplant waitress was peppy and talkative. Openly told us that she came to SB for college, fell in love with the city, and became a permanent resident. Tasty beverages and food were ordered at the same time. Hanging in the(805) how could I not order an 805 by Firestone. Two fish and chips and two Corn Beef & Cabbage with mashies were ordered and delivered piping hot within a few minutes. The food is ok. The fries were not soggy, but just were crispy enough for my liking. At least the gents enjoyed their Corn Beef. Very very bad when gents tummies are grumpy. Although both the food and service were good, highly unlikely I’d be back. There are just too many other establishments in SB to become a regular at any of them, especially when it takes a train ride or a long car ride to get there.

Dargan’s man… Dargan’s. Dargan’s is the destination downtown for people with tact and for people with class. Ok not really, Dargan’s is really everyone’s pub. Right now they’ve hired a bunch of Irish people so it’s a wee strange when you hear it at first. Let me be clear — Dargan’s is a great place to hangout. This isn’t a stop on your way to another bar… Dargan’s is a destination. Personally I’m a huge fun of the pool scene here. The tables are nice and there are many. The people who play aren’t idiots but they also aren’t always pool sharks so it’s inviting. The food… OH the food. You have great options like the Shepard’s Pie or you can go ham like me and just get a burger. Keep in mind that burger is probably one of the best in Santa Barbara. Keep in mind that I had a few beers before I had that burger. I love Dargan’s. Bartenders are chill too I don’t understand the hate.
