Went here on recent weekend. Decent music playing but ladies behind the counter were not too friendly, and the wine was overpriced, so decided to go next door to the brewery where the whole vibe was way brighter. Typical Wine vs. Beer crowd. Give me beer!

Amazing little place. Love the atmosphere. It’s a small hangar and feels great. Our bar tender was SUPER friendly and she gave so many great suggestions. We will DEFINITELY be back and will always bring our friends when they visit.

Knowledgeable staff behind the bar, great line up of Santa Barbara County wines, and just a very cool place to stop for wine tasting. Enjoy!

First time at Carr. Very goon wines and hospitable servers. Bought three bottles to go. Try the late harvest Viognier. Very nice dessert wine Asa finisher.

Love Carr winery. The atmosphere is great and they have an impressive selection of local wines. The winemaker/owner Ryan frequents his location and is always friendly and loves to talk about the everything associated with making wine. One of my favorite spots to relax.

This place has AIRCONDITIONING! Perfect for the hot days that we have had here in Santa Barbara. Now that it has cooled down, it is still a really nice place to relax and have some top of the line wine. The Pinot Noir’s here are my favorite. Also, there are plenty of games to play here with your friends. The reason it is a 4 and not a 5 is that it is… location, location, location! It is a little further from the other tasting rooms or restaurants than I would like. The pros outweigh the cons, so it’s definitely worth a try.

Ask for Wren! She took great care of us. Great wines and walked us through the description of each wine. She really made us feel comfortable. Cool little spot with great artwork and affordable prices. A local told us about this spot and we’re definitely impressed. Try the 2014 Carr Pinot Gris and 2012 Carr Cabernet Franc

Very nice selection of wines. I usually like white wines and I enjoyed every one that the hostess took out for us to taste. The winery looks super cool too! One downside to it is that it is FREEZING in there. They have to keep the wines cold so the temperature is set super low. Be sure to dress really warm if you’re prepared to come here!

This is by far my favorite tasting room in Santa Barbara. I’ve been coming here for years, prior to becoming a local and I have had a wonderful experience every time. The tasting room is quaint and relaxing. They offer comfortable spots at the bar, cozy seats away from the bar, and shuffle board! They also have live music, which I’ve only checked out once, but when I did the band was amazing and it was a great, family-friendly atmosphere. Their wines are phenomenal. I’ve never had one I didn’t enjoy. I especially like their Pinos, Cab Francs, and Syrahs. They are also dog friendly :) Carr is a must visit spot in Santa Barbara.

I’ve been a regular at Carr for almost two years since I have several friends who are members. The atmosphere is wonderful being surrounded by all of their aging wine barrels, and the cool temperature due to ideal aging of the wine in those barrels is always refreshing. I’ve had loads of fun playing their table shuffleboard, checkers and especially backgammon. The wine is fantastic, and there are two tasting menus to choose from. PS Veronica is the best! So friendly and such a pleasure to chat with. If you’re lucky, she’ll be working when you visit:)

One of my favorite wineries /tasting rooms if not my favorite. All their wine is fantastic and Carr does an amazing job when it comes to special events — there is always one around the corner that is unique and entertaining. Usually includes art, great food and live music and performances. Plus they have fun games, such as a shuffle board table. Can’t get enough!

Had a great experience for out first wine tasting at the Santa Barbara location. Wren was a great host — very informative and helpful when it came to how to drink the wine and find all the different notes. Cool places to hang out. Would love to come back for a night with live music and refill my growler :) highly recommended!

On a Sunday Funday afternoon me and my friend decided to do some wine tasting using the Axxess card 2 for 1 tasting. Apparently we were the only customers this day at the winery and the place was a ghost town but nonetheless we were warmly greeted by Acacia. I hope I spelled her name right! She was very knowledgable in explaining each wine we tasted and we had great conversation. Luckily they sell chocolate bars so it really complimented the red wines. If you get cold easily I recommend you bring a light sweater or jacket since it’s pretty chilly inside.

Came here with my boyfriend a few weeks ago while visiting Santa Barbara for the first time. Needless to say, we fell in love with this place. It has a very unique, intimate ambiance and the staff is incredibly sweet, personable and knowledgable. Oh, and their wine is also amazing so I guess that was a plus! ;) If we lived closer this would definitely become a «regular» spot. Regardless, we’ll definitely be back.

Very nice inside. Large and dark. Kinda romantic. Very cold. The aid is set to 60 at all times. Bring a sweater or drink more red wine! The tastings were a overpriced with small pours. $ 10 – 12 for 5 small tastings. Also, the tastings are pre set, so I wasn’t able to chose the varietals that I prefer and enjoy. Probably wouldn’t go back for a tasting, but possible for a glass of wine or to host a private event.

What a great find. I went to go see Jason Campbell and The Drive and it was my first visit to Carr. I can’t believe I haven’t stopped here before, I’ve passed it so many times on the way to the hardware store! Maybe I haven’t tried it because wine and house repairs don’t mix? I purchased a bottle of their Sauvignon Blanc | $ 18.00. If they are very busy up at the bar they will keep the bottle chilled up front for you instead of making you walk around with an ice bucket if you prefer not to. Atmosphere is absolutely beautiful and I definitely recommend hitting Carr up when they have live music.

It is hard to believe that I have never reviewed Carr before today!!! Carr is a great place, it is in that other«funky» zone which may be up and coming. I know that a lot of people don’t make it to Carr because it is not in the Funk Zone and is too far to walk. But that is a shame. I would suggest perhaps starting your day at Carr while driving is still an option, then park and walk the zone the rest of the day. You might want to hit Telegraph next door while you are at it. When you pull up to Carr you see a big Quonset hut that makes you think of a black and white WWII movie. Not the cozy wine tasting room nestled in the middle of a vineyard in the wine country – quite the opposite. But when you go inside it is kind of magical. A well thought out tasting room which has the most comfortable feel to it! The place is large and they keep the lights dim. The production area dominates the building and when they aren’t actively making wine it makes a wonderful room for events and parties. The wines are very good, I wouldn’t say that they are absolute best that Santa Barbara has to offer but most are quite good. The staff on the other hand is the best that Santa Barbara has to offer and I have long standing friendships with several of the great people at this winery. Whether you become a member or not I would recommend getting on the mailing list as Carr has so many great events throughout the year. Art shows or Costume parties it is always a great time!

I like the interior of Carr’s a lot. I went years ago once and thought it was too dark but unlike Funk Zone wine tasting rooms, it’s very spacious and that’s good. I tried a Syrah rose – not usually my thing – and it was outstanding But I think it’s expensive. If it were more in line with the other wine tasting rooms in town(or had at least a few other choices at the 10 range) I’d give it a 4. It’s closer to our condo, though, and you don’t have to screw with Funk Zone’s notoriously bad parking so I think I will go back, with or without boyfriend.
