Bodywork by Kaleo

Just had my first massage with Kaleo, and it will definitely not be my last. I found him rather by chance — I needed a massage, but my salary does not always allow such luxuries, so I checked for any new Groupons, and voila! There he was. I read his reviews on Unilocal,they were great, so I figured, what the heck? Might as well check him out for such a great introductory price…
I am so glad I did! I have had a LOT of massage over the years (I actually trained as a massage therapist myself, and used to get body work on a daily basis when I was in school), and Kaleo is definitely one of the best MTs I’ve been to. He is strong, and can work really deep if you need/​want that type of work, but he does so with such awareness of what’s happening underneath your skin that even the deepest work is therapeutic, not traumatic.
Have you ever gone for a massage, perhaps even some deep tissue work, and found yourself feeling like the massage therapist was «okay» but that they just weren’t quite getting down to the root of the problem? I’ve had plenty of those, and they would always leave me feeling disappointed and not quite complete. This was not the case with Kaleo. I have a lot of problem areas, thanks to many years of a very high-​stress job, little self-​care, and some structural alignment issues to boot, so believe me when I say my muscles are an absolute MESS. Pretty much every muscle I have has a knot, a trigger point, an adhesion, etc. You name it, you can find it on me. And so many times in the past, the massage therapists I’ve seen just couldn’t quite get to the place where the tension and pain were originating. (Kind of like when you ask someone to scratch a really crazy itch on your back that keeps moving, and they can never quite get the right spot…)
But Kaleo was able to find those spots! :-) It’s really a powerful thing when that happens. You just *know* you’re going to feel better/​move better and be healthier as a result.
There were times when I could actually feel the muscle fibers «unwinding» — almost like the threads of a horrible knot finally coming loose. It’s such an incredible feeling — getting precious blood flow and oxygen back into tissue that’s been starved for so long because of being so tight.
Bottom line — this guy knows his stuff.
The new space is lovely. Very relaxing and clean. And he is warm, friendly, and professional. You really feel like you are doing something incredibly loving and healing for yourself by getting bodywork here.
As someone who works in the healing arts myself, I understand and appreciate how valuable this is, and I highly recommend Kaleo!

As an athlete, my muscles are frequently tight and knotted. This also causes my sciatica and pre-​carple tunnel to act up. The only fix for this is Kaleo. His deep tissue work gets to the core of the issues and works it out all the way through my body.
Kaleo has amazing energy that is very calming and is very intentional and patient with his massage. When my back was tight and achy he spent a good deal of time working each vertebra and the the muscle in between each rib. I’ve never had such attention and excellent results before.

Stress and repetitive motions had me notted up big time.
Kaleo was able to work out the kinks and get me back to work.
I had been going to physical therapy with very weak results.
Best Deep Tissue in town.

Best massage therapist in town! In my profession it’s important to have good therapist and Kaleo had been keeping me injury free since 2006. I highly recommend him!

I really enjoy Kaleo’s massages, he had a wonderful, calming personality that immediately puts you at ease. Amazing technique used to work out the knots, and I felt great & relaxed after. Definitely recommend to anyone considering! :)

I am also a massage therapist and am very picky when it comes to someone else working on me. I found Kaleo from Groupon and figured I’d give him a try. Turns out he is very skilled and knows what he is doing! Best deep tissue massage ever! Will return for that and other types of massage for sure! Peaceful setting, very comfortable, great use of massage cream and hot, moist towels! Kaleo is a quiet, strong and knowledgable therapist who will listen to your needs and them knead them away!
