I had seen this a few times on Unilocal,but only just now got a chance to try it out. I ordered the Bento box with chicken teriyaki and it was so good! I really liked that there were some veggies and some pineapple in the teriyaki, it was a surprise and it was a good one:) The tempura was hot and crisp and the bento box seemed overflowing with it. I have a feeling this may become my go-to place when I am feeling like Japanese.

I ordered a bento box from here on grub hub. Booooo I was not impressed! The Tempora had a weird coating on it (it was much dif then the norm), no utensils, tempora sauce, wasabi or ginger came with the order. I was very disappointed. You get what you pay for.

Why do they have Groupons deals if you aren’t going to treat new customers well? I just felt like i wasn’t welcomed because i bought a Groupon and saved a few dollars
I went to yo sushi. #2 on civic center before and i thought the food was good. I was hoping yo sushi the original would be better… i hoped wrong.
The Groupon does not say dine in only, just a fyi if you want to get it to go.
When i entered on a Saturday afternoon they had a couple eating and they were busy with grubhub orders. No biggie. I was told i can sit anywhere I want
The food came out fast. No more than 5 minute wait. i got the chicken fried rice, deep fried pork bento box deal (tokatsu I think) and 8 pieces of California roll.
First out to my table was the 8 piece California roll. Its a California roll… cant be hard to get wrong right? It tasted… slightly bland. Like parts of it tasted like i was eating nothing…
I never had Japanese style fried rice, i thought it was tasty. It had a fair amount of chicken and vegetable.
The tokatsu was good. Never had it before but i thought it was crispy and fine.
Why the 2 star review? No customer service. After i was given my food the main person working (the owner? A middle aged Japanese guy) never checked up on me. Same goes for the Hispanic worker. I had to ask them myself for my free drink. My miso soup never came out. At least they gave me it to go.
Will i be back? Nope. To yo sushi 2 maybe.

The whole experience was pretty lame, we have ordered food through them from door dash over 10 times. I guess to get a good experience from them don’t go in person or call them. My wife called them and place the order ahead of time, she was rushed off the phone and obviously that didn’t feel very professional. I get there right on time and was asked what I ordered because the person who took the order didn’t get a name or even a phone number. My wife took the order I was simply asked to pick it up, which what complete bull crap. Eventually they remember which order it was, but guess what? They messed our order up completely. They missed an entire roll up and the Mochi my wife ordered. I show up and our crawfish roll is literally missing over half a roll of craw fish and it’s completely burned, we are missing an extra roll we ordered, and the desert. When I got there to pay I was asked to wait an extra 5 minutes but it turned into 15 minutes.

This has to be my favorite sushi place! The service is great and the food is superb! They always make me feel welcomed and my plates are always well decorated! I definitely recommend this place!

My first time trying this place and I can honestly say the sushi was amazing!
I tried the Dragon Roll and The Golden Tiger roll. They were both very delicious and filling. Customer service was great. The young woman working was very helpful in her recommendations as well as did a great job attending to our needs. This place also has pretty great deals and everything is priced reasonably. Will be coming back very soon to try the Bento boxes!

Service wise: the waitress was really nice and took our orders and brought our food out quickly.
Price wise: they had a combo deal, 2 special rolls and a drink for 17something, I thought that was pretty cool.
Food wise: We got the baked salmon and the dragon roll, I believe. We also got spicy edamame and the heart attack (stuffed jalapeño). The baked salmon tasted completely burned and was not good at all. The dragon was okay. The best part of my meal was definitely the edamame and jalapeños.
Overall: I was hoping the best thing about a sushi spot would be their sushi… also they don’t have refillable drinks. Only canned drinks. I would definitely recommend the edamame though. Left hungry and pretty bummed I spent money on food I didn’t really like.

Fast service and great employees. Even the owner remembered us. We have been there twice. 4 weeks apart. And the waitress and owner remembered us.

Very good. Love the customer service. Everyone’s so friendly. Vibe is amazing. But most importantly food is delicious. It would be perfect if they had alcohol, but its still good. :) Definitely recommend to check it out.
BTW they have awesome deals! $

First impression: This place is small and dirty. We sat in the back booth and it had a nasty smell similar to what wet clothes that’s been sitting out smells like. The chair was also slanted weird and felt really uncomfortable. Luckily another booth was open so we moved. I also didn’t care for the décor. Nothing matched, as in there was no consistency with the other tables. Oh and the floor is super sticky. My flip flops were stuck to the floor as I tried to walk.
The food: I enjoyed the food actually. Not much to complain about for me. I really enjoyed the baked salmon roll. It reminded me of baked mussels which are my favorite. My bf didn’t like the food though. He claims the rice tasted weird but I didn’t think so.
Service: The two waitresses were nice, nothing bad to say except they couldn’t get our Unilocal deal right. We paid for the $ 20 for $ 25 deal and on the bill they only gave us $ 5 off our deal. I had to explain they need to take off another $ 20. Not a big deal I guess.
Overall, I enjoyed the food but the place was really dirty, was kind of gross.

First time here, i was thinking sushi roll or bento. Finally, I order 3 rolls, cherry blossom, hiro & baked white fish.
$ 7 each. Not my kind of sushi roll, too much sauce, fish are tasteless.

Excellent sushi, nice atmosphere. Chef was very accommodating, prepared a special sashimi roll too my request. It was delicious. Warning… spicy is too SPICY for this girl’s taste but very good overall.
If you order one of the multi roll specials you’re served in a wooden boat!

This place was quite enjoyable.
As a couple we frequently crave sushi and try to find new places if we can. I believe we had some kind of groupon or coupon deal when we came (which 80% of the time isbwhy we try new places). We were able to order a fair variety and then it was eligantly displayed on a boat. For a small place that was surprising and impressive. The sushi was fresh and tastey and we were also given a coupon book. I dont know if it has expiration dates as it has been a while since we had gone but it is within our home area so I’m sure we will be back again.

DELICIOUS! I found YO Sushi through Unilocal under the «HOT&NEW» section. I must say that my fellow Unilocalers did not disappoint. We were welcomed in even though it was 8:30pm (considering 9pm is closing time).
Our amazing waitress Megan was very sweet and nice and didn’t try to rush us while we dined in. My husband and I ordered 3 rolls+1 coke+1 order of mochi. We were extremely pleased with the presentation and overall taste as well! everything was fresh and I loved the size of the rolls (easy to eat).
During our dinner it was 8:57pm and a customer came in and wanted to place a Togo order. Usually a lot of places would turn down orders so late; however, the owner was nice and accepted the order! Love it! Going the extra mile to please customers.
We ended our delicious meal with some light mochi and were done. Our bill came and what would’ve been $ 45 – 55 at other sushi restaurants was only $ 23 before tip!
I will defiantly be referring all my friends and family to come and try YO sushi and I will be returning. From the food, to our awesome waitress to the great owner that shows pride in his business. I support them! Thanks again!

YOOOOO this place is off the chain.
When my boyfriend first drove me up to this joint I was pretty skeptical. It looked very eccentric with all the decorations inside. But if you’re balling on a budget this place is for you. The specialty rolls are all around 9 dollars. You can do combos as well. Best of all they serve it to you on a cute sushi boat. The combo that was good for two people was 3 specialty rolls + 2 drinks for around 27 dollars was a great deal. My favorite out of the three I got was the baked salmon roll. The quality of the sushi is great compared to other places within the same price range. The service was excellent as well. Definitely will come back.

I love Unilocal for leading me to places like this one.
So first let’s start by acknowledging that they took the spot of a great Thai restaurant that I’ll miss dearly. I’m not mad tho cuz this sushi spot is .
I came in late one night right before they closed and got the baked crab roll and the baked salmon roll. For $ 9 a roll, it’s a reasonable price for the size of the rolls. I’m telling you, nice, sizeable rolls for $ 9. You really get your money’s worth.
The rolls were really good! I first had the baked crab roll (or something similar) at Sake 2 Me so I was thrilled when I saw it on the menu. Just as good. The baked salmon roll was my fave though but that’s because I love salmon! The salmon literally melted in my mouth. Soooooooo good.
I went back the next day and was equally as satisfied. I’ve told my friends about this place and we’re excited to go soon! I’ll probably continue to go back. This sushi place might be the death of me honestly. Please don’t leave like the Thai place.
