My sister always goes here and so of course for her bday we took her here. They are very accommodating for our big party even though it is a more intimate(smaller) place. I recommend the microtech and stinky rolls.

One of our favorite sushi places in the OC. We have been almost weekly regulars to Omai now for over a year and could not be happier with there quality and prices. Its rare to find sushi these days with both great quality and good sized quantity at reasonable prices. Omoi does exactly that and more with excellent service and that home cooked atmosphere. Truly one of the hidden gems of sushi in orange county.

First time here, ignored by staff until the sushi chef bar back attempted to help seat me, only to be rediverted to the waiting area because tge bar was dirty. Repeatedly asked if i was soing togo after i said i would be dining. Not impressed. Sushi chef is cold, not a single greeting after 5 minutes and staff has not taken my order in 10 minutes.

The best sushi I’ve ever had. Amazing quality. My friend told me about this place. I believe they named a roll after his brother. Pretty cool. I love coming here. It’s small, cute and affordable.

Been here twice now for lunch now. I got the sashimi lunch both time and it was good. Tuna, Salmon and snapper were all fresh and melted in my mouth. It came with miso soup and cucumber salad. Pretty feeling even tho it didn’t come with rice. The fishes were cut generously. The only flaw about this place is that service can be a little slow.

I come here all the time and love the sushi and the staff. Paul behind the counter is fun and will make you a wicked ad hoc roll if you ask. This is the same place, same owners as when they were Kokoro Sushi. Nothing has changed except the name. The specialty rolls are very unique and creative. Yum! They have take out and to go menus now(finally!).

Their sushi is pretty great. They have a large selection and the atmosphere is really fun and makes you feel like you aren’t in Orange County anymore. The space is tight but maybe thats because I’m a larger person. My only gripe is that the service does take long sometimes and the servers don’t seem to be on-top of their game. They kinda sit back and don’t notice that waters are empty or ask if you need anything else. Delivery is top notch.

I used to come to Omoi when it was called Kokoro sushi and it was one of my go-to sushi restaurant. It’s been a while so I thought I try it out again. Went here and saw that the menu was the same so I’d figure the cook was too! I ordered my favorite baby octopus salad and well that was a bit of a disappointment. It used to be fresh and the dressing was less sour. I felt it was missing something, but it was decent. I’m glad to say that the rolls were still amazing’ I had the fountain valley and he Osaka roll. Both were very filling and worth my money. And they give this orange fruit dessert afterwards and that was new. Service-wise, was okay. She was decent but not constantly attentive. But at least she was friendly. Overall, I would come back again.

Food is mediocre. Service is extremely slow. They have 2 waitresses holding down a small floor. Food takes forever to come out. If you’re hungry and cannot wait to eat, go elsewhere

I’ve been looking for a good sushi place for a while and finally found this place! It used to be called Kokoro Sushi but is now Omoi sushi. Every time I come here, I get sashimi and the salmon literally melts in your mouth. It’s so delicious! Also, they aren’t stingy with their portions. I would definitely recommend this place.

We drive an hour to eat here. It’s always good — which is why we keep coming back. The chef will make what he wants for us and it is always delicious. They recently had a name change but the owners and chefs are still the same. Fish quality is great and the portions are bigger than other places.

The reviews for this place are massively under rated they have the best poki salad around. They are not under new management just have a new name. Sure the servers are not exactly at your beck and call all the time but they also take a lot of abuse from self entitled Unilocalers who walk in with their golden spoons. The entire waitstaff is very nice if you treat them nice but don’t show up 10 min before lunch ends and expect great service for an hour these people want to go home and have time off too respect the hours of operations. A+ fish quality.

When I first walked in we were greeted by an unruly white younger server. His presence was poor and energy«blah» as if he was telling us to leave. Which in the end he pretty much did tell us to leave because it was nearing closing hours he made us uncomfortable and rushed gave a lot of attitude and had an array badly done tattoos on his arms. all in all terrible first expirience he also was talking smack about us to the other servers in japanese.

We ordered the sushi special which had an assortment of nigiri sushi. All of them about twice the size of what your receive at other sushi restaurants. The Albacore and Salmon was excellent, smooth uniform texture and full of flavor. The other pieces seemed not as fresh, but were still OK. Enough for two to share and a good value. The octopus salad was simple, some greens and small octopuses with a dressing. The right amount of dressing and the octopus were not rubbery. We also had a squid salad, which was very spicy but delicious. Portions are generous and you may not need to order as much as you might think. Service was attentive and friendly.

Good sushi, good service. I usually go on Mondays so I can get the half off happy hour special on large hot sake!!! I think it is only $ 3.00, and I get like 6 shots or so out of it. Totally worth it. I usually get 2 with my sushi. Also, the baby lobster sushi is bomb!!!

This place knocks any sushi place out of the water! Used to be called kokoro but just changed their name but same owners and same great amazing food! The servers could do a little better in checkin in with people for more water but everything they serve is suburb!

Man, I don’t know if this place is under new management(maybe hence the name change) or last night was just a bad night to be there, but I didn’t like it here as much as I did my first time here. When I came in here to reserve a table, there seemed to be confusion amongst the waitstaff. A party was already waiting when I told a male waiter that I needed a table for three. A female waitress came over and asked if we had written our name down on the list; she seemed irritated when none of us had known to write our names down. When the male waiter came back, he tried to seat my party, paying no attention to the list and the party that was there before me. Anyways, the whole ordeal was sorted out and everyone was seated accordingly. When we were seated, the female waitress helped us. She was extremely sweet and accommodated our needs. I wanted a chirashi bowl with just salmon and ono, and she was more than happy to put that request in for me. She even gave us 10% off for having to wait for awhile for our meal and check. As for the food, the fish wasn’t as high quality as it used to be. The salmon and ono weren’t super buttery and melt-in-your-mouth. There seemed to be tendons in every piece of fish in my bowl, making the fish a little tough to get through. The portions also seemed to be smaller than they were before. It may be because they were busy, but there wasn’t enough rice in the bowl for all the fish. My boyfriend and I both had the chirashi bowl and we both left, unsatisfied and still hungry. I’d probably come back here if I knew the portions could be the same as they were when this place was Kokoro. if not, I’d most likely go elsewhere. Bottom line: maybe it’s because they’re under new management, maybe it was a bad night, but this place isn’t as good as Kokoro was.
