So I gave the Trout another chance after my clam chowder incident… The service is 4 stars food is 3 stars. Had happy hour fish tacos, good flavor but where was the fish? Chips and salsa… salsa was horrible. Get some pico de gallo sooo much better and classier. The moscow mules were awesome. Copper mugs would be a good investment! Bartender had never made one before, he did good. I will be back when I am craving a burger and fries. That is all…

This place is hit or miss. I love fish & chips. Their fish is great, but the fries tend to be soggy & not very crispy. I would suggest trying the onion rings instead of fries.

Stopped here a few hours ago after visiting Windell’s with the boys. Our main driver was the gluten-free and hormone-free menu. This place is off the charts! I haven’t had fries this good in EONS. Service was fantastic! The Nachos were insane. Great place for parents and kiddos. Can’t say enough great things. We will be back!

Friendly service! Lots of beers, Jenga to play with friends. Nice hot cider drink and a wicked happy hour.

Disappointing food with extremely long serivice. Fries were burned my sandwich was falling apart. Also for having sandwiches 40 minutes wait seems unreasonable. At least the servers were friendly.

Chili and fish tacos rule and I order them every time. Make sure you stop here and grab a beer because they have a great selection here. Everyone I bring here loves what they order so make sure to try everything.

Good service. 20-ish beers on tap with good variety. Soups prepared on site. The chicken wings are made to order using fresh prince mg residents with amazing house-made batter. Definitely worth a trip back here on my next trip through town. Definetly worth stopping over on the way back to Bend from Portland.

Iffy! This place changes management a lot! Burgers were delicious but never consistent.

My family are from sandy and have seen new owners a few times and continue to try the place to try and support local businesses in town but cannot and will not go back there again as the fish was over cooked and my two kids both got sick from the hamburgers they that they had too be kept out of school for a day so go there at own risk. Won’t go back. 9÷4÷15

Very disappointed! How can you go wrong with chicken strips? I found out you can. They were made from thigh meat! All fatty and slimy! And fish batter was used! They wanted to make me something else but I had no time for that. They offered to make it right if I came back! The owner was embarrassing, and even had the nerve to tell me that white meat was more expensive! Could hear her in the back very rudely telling the cook how to make the correct batter. After said and done they still charged me for my meal!

I asked for pesto cream cheese and it was written down but I got mayo instead. No straw offered with my drink, which btw took 20 minutes to get. Overall. I’m annoyed.

We ate there on Friday, 8÷7÷15. Full Gluten-free menu. Had yummy clam chowder and delicious halibut and chips — crispy, not oily, delicious. Everything was good and very friendly service. Great stop on the way up to or down from Mt. Hood. And sign says they’re under«New Management», so, as this was our first time in Trout Pub, not sure how/if old reviews apply?

OK. Just OK. The staff seemed confused and the waitress couldn’t handle much more than one thing at a time. I’ve been coming here for many years and knew the original owners. So I was excited when we stopped in recently and learned that there were new owners. That day the food AND the service was amazing. When I stopped in today it was OK. My veggie sandwich was thin but had good flavor. The burger that my friend got should have been amazing for it to cost $ 10, For one thing it wasn’t what he ordered. It was a plain burger(we’d ordered bacon and blue cheese). And the fries were really(really) greasy. Granted we didn’t say anything. My partner decided he was OK with what he got. But he won’t order it again. I agree with Dave-Kirsten P. that the professional thing just isn’t there. Little things like no TP in the ladies(it wasn’t that busy), kinda dirty booths with bits of food, a little dish on the table with a broken candle in it, people coming in and sitting for ever without even a nod from the waitress, who was hanging at the bar talking with people. We’d already been trying to catch her eye. She walked by half a dozen times(nothing in her hands) and never even glanced at our table. Even waving arms wildly didn’t work. I had to go to the bar to get another drink and tell her we were ready to order. Kitchen staff delivering food and not knowing where it goes while the waitress is still at the bar chatting. Again, maybe it was just a bad day. Hope so. We’ll be back because we live close and I’m curious as to whether this is the standard now. I love this place. I hope it works for them. But they need to have a system. And the staff(wait staff, especially) need to be trained so the whole process works better — people notice stuff like that! Maybe fewer folks in the kitchen and someone else working out front. Don’t know. But I wish them well.

Just had lunch, two orders cod fish & chips, 1 soda and a beer — $ 34. Three«small», tiny tiny pieces of fish and an order of fries smaller then Micky D’s kids portion. Very disappointed. Quality was good, but I hate leaving that much cash and still feel hungry.

My group stopped in yesterday after a strenuous set of hikes in the mountains. I was going to get the burger, but noticed they had a veggie/portobello sandwich. It was quite good and worked well with their house-made ginger ale. Appreciated the waitress keeping our waters topped off as it was hot, hot, hot outside. I’d definitely return the next time I’m in the area.

Last year, a buddy had bragged about Trout Pub’s burgers, so I stopped in for the first time with a fishing buddy. Parking was difficult. I had to park my full size truck on the street. The entry to the pub had booths on the right, and what appeared to be an office hidden behind a curtain to the left… it looked odd to me, cluttered. When I inquired about the burgers, I learn there were new owners, new menu, and new cooks as of two months ago. The employee who served us was very polite and kept our Arnold Palmer’s topped off. We ordered, to split, the halibut fish and chips and a burger, which tasted — ‘just ok’, not super great, plus they were tiny portions. My taste buds and wallet were slightly disappointed. At $ 20 for the fish and chips and $ 10.50 for the burger, I expected an over the top meal, which wasn’t the case. I think $ 8.50 for the fish and chips and $ 6.50 for the burger and fries would have been reasonable… not $ 20/$ 10.50 I am not cheap, just reasonable in «taste & quality vs cost». Although the meal was ‘just ok’, I won’t be returning at these prices and portion size. All in all, at $ 17 plus a $ 3 tip, later, I walked away hungry and disappointed.

Being gluten free I was anxious to try their gf fish and chips. Got the lunch order halibut fish and chips, which was 20 bucks. Got 3 fish sticky pieces(see pic). The fish had kind a spongey consistency, and really lacked seasoning. The fries were pretty greasy and the coleslaw was boring. I really wanted to like this place but for gf fish and chips I far prefer the Hawthorne Fish house The staff was very nice though

Great experience here! We were staying overnight in Government Camp, and found it on our way home. Both my 8 yr old son and I are GF, and I often feel bad that he misses out on some kid favorites that his sister gets to eat. We rarely eat out anyway, but he was so thrilled to be able to order fish and chips. And I was thrilled to let him and not have to say«I’m sorry buddy, that has gluten». Their fryer is dedicated GF, and even their chicken strips are safe. Plus, after chatting with the cook, he even makes his soups with cider instead of beer like the split pea and«beer» cheese. They don’t advertise this outright, so don’t be afraid to ask! We will be back! Plus, they said they alway have a cider or two on tap! :)

First visit after the remodel… We chose an old favorite – the alpine burger. Not on the new menu, but they knew the recipe and made it up. Cleaner, less cluttered interior. Odd things: a child on a cell phone kept talking loudly to «daddy,» who was«on his way.» She was obviously a child of the work force, yet no one corrected her super loud voice. Her father did indeed arrive and begin waiter work. Her mother went back and forth from trying to parent her two children at a table, to flinging and messing with her hair, to delivering food to tables when the bell rung. I understand being a working parent, but children in the workplace, plus flinging hair around, plus food, don’t mix. Gross This place makes decent food, but they just can’t seem to understand professional behavior. From one owner to the next, that parts a mess.

Decided to try this place again and good grief. What a nightmare that place is. I ordered a grilled cheese and veggie sandwich, it came dry with no cheese, sent it back and got MYSAMESANDWICHTHAT I HADTAKEN A BITEOFBACK! The cook opened the sandwich, added cheese ANDMICROWAVEDIT. It was shocking and appalling. It had that limp, microwave nastiness. I mentioned it to the waitress and her response was, «that’s weird, that’s not how we do things.» And that was it. No apology. No offer of making it right. Basically a big, bummer for you. So unprofessional and just surprising how awful the service was. Will never be going back.
