My hubs and I went here for our anniversary… Signature cocktails were wonderful… Oysters on the half shell were some of the best we’ve ever had(which is saying a lot since we both grew up on the coast eating them our whole lives)… The BBQ blue cheese chips were delish… Hubby had the fried platter… It was hot, fresh, and fried to perfection… I had the shrimp and grits… Some of the yummiest grits EVER… And the shrimp were ginormous… All of this was surrounded by a rich brown au jus that was beyond amazing… Upon finding out it was our anniversary our server(Julia – who was awesome) comped our dessert and coffee… A great ending to a delicious dinner!!!

A nice local sandy springs spot if ur not trying to venture too far from home but still definitely worth the drive if u do. The place has a rustic boat theme with seating that doesn’t quite match the price point of the restaurant but all the same I enjoy it. I love their mixed fry appetizer which comes with fish, shrimp, calamari, delicious pickled peppers, and a great dipping sauce that really makes the dish. Sometimes I’ll order two orders and make it a meal. I love all their salads and they have an awesome house made Caesar dressing which is perfectly garlicky and anchovish. I also really enjoyed the pickled shrimp, very refreshing and different.

Very satisfying. The drinks were delicious the food was fast and fresh. What a selection! I personally recommend the mermaid martini and the mixed green side salad. I didn’t even realize I ordered such a fancy side salad but it probably had the best dressing I’ve had at a restaurant, apricot, bleu cheese and candied walnuts, yum! The coconut, mango salsa shrimp were huge and delicious, although I wish I would’ve looked @ the Unilocal pix, I would’ve preferred the garlic shrimp(rather than fried). The clam pasta dish I almost stole from a friend and jerk chicken, what?! Be sure to check in for the delicious BBQ chips they’re served w/bleu cheese and bacon, the chips are thin and the seasonings great!

I was totally shocked that i pass by this little diamond in the rough alot and never thought to stop and check it out. Well after getting a tip on this place i went to see for myself. Lo and behold i had a all around good experience from the service to the food i was intrigued! The oyster shooters stole my heart. I will definitely be back again and again. Thanks Hammocks for and awesome fantasy come true!

How can this place be 4 stars?!? First I admit the décor is nice, but the prices are WAY to high for the little food you get. They had a «special» of 5 scallops for 24 bucks. That’s right, almost 5 dollars a scallop for quarter sized scallops. We also got fish tacos. For 12.50 you get 2 fish soft tacos no bigger than the palm of your hand each that tear apart the second you touch them. Granted both tasted fine but I have to say it was a first for me to leave a restaurant still hungry.

This was a new place for us, recommended by friends. We were a party of 5 for lunch on a Sunday. The atmosphere was very Florida Keys. Loved it. Valet parking(not needed) guy was very attentive, hostesses were also very nice. We had salmon, blackened grouper, grilled shrimp, fish/chips, fried shrimp, home made bbq chips, potato salad, mashed potatoes, slaw(and couple more things, can’t remember). Salmon, grouper, grilled shrimp were outstanding. Seasoning was just perfect! However, fish/chips batter and fried shrimp batter was completely void of taste or seasoning. Down right terrible. I don’t mind paying good money for good food but we were disappointed about this. Sides — potato salad, mashed potatoes, slaw were all very good. Home made chips were also outstanding. Now the reason for only 3 stars. Our waiter was full of tude. He seemed to be upset about his job, or something unrelated to our party. We’ll call him«Spike». Spike didn’t want to make eye-contact with us and got the impression first time visitors were unwelcome. He did not want to answer the 2 questions about the menu. When the food arrived our plates were dropped hard on the table(each one) and not because they were hot. All of this made me begin to watch the other waitresses. All of them very attentive, no plate dropping over there. He screwed up our unsweet tea refills then tried to convince us(never drink sweet tea people) that we MUST have asked for sweet tea. Seems he never makes an error. Wish one of his co-workers had been assigned to our table. Tips for the owner — think seasoning and get different chairs. They were very uncomfortable. Oh yeah, replace Spike with someone who wants a job. Both are an easy fix. We would like to eat here again.

This was a very good choice for dinner!!! The atmosphere was vey relaxed and the food was delicious! We had the mix fry and ½ off oysters for a appetizer. I had the baked salmon and vegetables which was the best!!! My boyfriend has the scallops and risotto. And the mojitos were only $ 5!!! We will definitely be back!!!

Ordered takeouts and they got the order wrong! The portions were tiny so won’t be going back to this place!

Came here for lunch with a colleague on a Monday; it’s close to my office and had a Unilocal special going on for a free appetizer, which was neat. First of all — beware crazy people in the parking lot. HAHA, okay not part of the review but there was a weird lady stalking out and creepily taking pictures of the place. Approached me and my friend and started asking us questions about wanting to throw an event there and if we could hook up after we ate to an idea of what the place is like. … um… just go in and talk to the owners and look at reviews… there’s like 238 of them. Anyways, inside it’s really cute with the under-the-sea theme and interior design. I really enjoyed thinking I was close to some water. I would love to come back in the summer time when the patio is open and indulge in some of their happy hour special, which look really good. I checked in and received a buffalo and blue cheese chip appetizer. I enjoyed the size and the creaminess of the blue cheese, it didn’t feel too heavy, a super good plus. For entrees, they are seafood based of course, with a bunch of good sandwich choices. I really enjoyed how large the portions were for the meals. I ordered the fried oyster poboy with a generous helping of fries. They are old bay seasoned so definitely delicious and crispy. The service was a-okay, quick and friendly, no complaints at all. For a lunch menu, the entrees are a little more than I would like to spend, but definitely on par for seafood. Will need to come back to for another try soon.

Very laid back and enjoyable. Makes you wish you were on a beach somewhere. Went with a group of friends and we all enjoyed our food. Some raved about the salmon, but I though the scallops were awesome. Wonderful sear. Had the bbq chips(without bacon) as an appetizer — they were very good & free with a Unilocal check in. I didn’t have desert, but some in my group did & they said the entrees set the bar too high that the deserts didn’t measure up: 1) rhubarb cobbler was too tart 2) strawberry shortcake was flavorless and tasted like bread Service was excellent & we got separate checks without any issue — and they did not automatically add gratuity. For a group of 10, this was a plus.

I love this place so much. Everything I’ve tried is so fresh and amazing. I love the cocktails and the music they play, and just the whole relaxed vibe of he place. It is definitely one of my favorite Atlanta restaurants. That hostess tonight tho… Ugh. Fire that obnoxious woman.

Food was ok. Fried Occra was the best and the fried shrimp was so so. Service was great and drinks were pretty good. Ambiance is friendly and welcoming.

The floors were so sticky! The décor is tacky and service is bad. Food is not that great either and takes forever to come out!

Went for lunch with my dad! Had the BBQ Chips delish! Ordered coconut shrimp, good but ill probably get something different next time. What I loved was the fried okra! Closest I’ve found like my grandmothers. Man I’m craving it now. Wasn’t super busy at lunch and the server was fantastic! Will be my go to recommendation for seafood in Sandy Springs!

I’d had this place bookmarked forever, so we finally decided to stop in on a cold and rainy winter’s day for lunch, hoping the seafood and beach atmosphere would take us away from the dreary outside. Our server was very friendly and clearly knew what he was doing. He made recommendations, let us take our time, and gave just the right amount of attention. We started with the BBQ chips(free with Unilocal check in). They are heavily seasoned and not-at-all greasy, and the best ones are those with dressing and blue cheese crumbles. For my lunch, I started with the HTC salad: Mixed greens, sundried peaches, pecans, blue cheese, apple cider vinaigrette. There was a little too much dressing, causing the greens to wilt, but otherwise it was tasty. Then I had the mixed fry, wanting to try a number of things. I liked the peppers and lemon served with it, and I liked the flavor, but it was too greasy. I ate the whole thing, but my stomach was not happy about that later. Jimmy got the spaghetti with clams(in white wine sauce), a HUGE portion. It was delicious — the sauce was flavorful but not heavy, the noodles perfectly al dente, and the clams just right. The beach vibe was a nice change of pace. We’ll be back!

Drinks: got sangria and my girls got the ginger peach. Very mild but I liked them for how much they are, $ 5. Perfect for a sunny afternoon for bunch of Ohio girls. Food: I only give three stars. I got the grouper sandwich. And they all got po boys. Nothing too special, had too much vinaigrette taste, could have gotten better po boy in Ohio.(I am sorry that’s harsh) and the coleslaw on my sandwich was just plain. However they do have half price fresh oyster from 4 to 6! All three stars go to that. Service: another reason I gave four. I enjoyed the vibes and service and our waiter particularly told us to be careful with the horseradish. So I get guess it makes up for the food.

The patio makes this place a favorite on my list. The area of the restaurant is sadly desolate, but Hammocks is always busy with people enjoying the great food and fun drinks. Nice staff and tons of fun as the evening progresses. Some really sweet waitresses that will chat and laugh with the patrons while making sure the customers are never asking for refills or waving down the bill. Ladies…you must use the sugar scrub in the bathroom… it is amazing. Sorry, men… I didn’t check out your restroom… but if the sugar scrub is in there I suggest you use it. Your hands will love you for it. Food is good, really fresh seafood and great oyster specials for happy hour. A little piece of Florida in Sandy Springs.

The Skinny: The barbecue chips are delicious and they are free with your Unilocal check in. The salmon BLT sandwich is very tasty and I had mine with macaroni and cheese and I’m a very big critic when it comes to macaroni and cheese but I really enjoyed theirs. My friend had the spicy chicken sandwich and he said it was absolutely delicious along with his potato salad. The Scoop: I have been meaning to check out this restaurant for months. I’ve heard good things about it and I’ve driven past it because it’s right up the street from my house but I finally got a chance to try it out. When you walk in there it gives you the vibes of an oceanfront restaurant. I really felt like I had been taken out of Atlanta and transported to some place by the beach. The Deets: The server was very friendly and knowledgeable. We walked in and were immediately seated. Everything was clean and fresh. The food came out quickly. The blue cheese crumbles and the dressing on the barbecue chips were a party in my mouth. Next time I go I think I will try their award winning grouper sandwich I think it was. It looks really good in the pictures. I will be back soon.

Came here for dinner on a Wednesday night. Just missed the 4 – 6 happy hour. We ordered half dozen crabmeat and jalapeño baked oysters and half dozen BBQ butter oysters(at the recommendation of our server) to start. Of the two, I enjoyed the former, though be warned, it’s pretty spicy. For dinner, we ordered the grilled grouper sandwich and the fried coconut shrimp with mango salsa. Both dishes were good. Not sure which I liked better. I didn’t know the BBQ butter oysters came with bacon and I don’t eat pork so it would be nice to have that written on the description. This is a very relaxed place with friendly service. Full bar. Good for families. Decently fresh seafood. Lots of windows and light. I’d want to sit out on the patio next time, weather permitting.
