Have eaten here twice now and both time was a wonderful experience. Grill oyster appetizer I could eat two dozen of them perfect combination of machego cheese, oyster and spinach. The steaks. I have had bone in rib eye and the filet. Very tender, very flavorful and Cooked perfectly. Fried lobster tail is really good too. They have a great wine list and they decanted my wine which some high end steak restaurants in buckhead do not do. The service both times was exceptional. Checked on us when needed, refilled glasses when needed, but also didn’t hover. Very knowledgeable of the menu and the wine list. Great atmosphere was perfect for my husband and I to have date night.

Fabulous date night out! Only wish our waiter had explained their steaks to us, as my husband would have ordered that instead of the special. Charcuterie appetizer was deelish, impeccable service. Pricey — but worth it for a night out. The special was good, but was just the seabass that’s on the menu with a few prawns and some crab meat on top. Prawns and grits were to die for! Great wines also. WIll definitely come again for another special occasion!

It was my girlfriend’s birthday and she was craving a nice Filet. I decided to go with Maya over other, more well known, steakhouses in the Atlanta because of the positive reviews on Unilocal and also not having to deal with downtown traffic on a weekday. We started off with the oysters for an appetizer, which tested extremely fresh and delicious. As for the entrée, she had the filet and I ordered the Ribeye. Both were cooked to perfection and exactly to our liking. Halfway through our meal, our waiter noticed our bottle of wine was empty and our glasses were getting a little low and we still had a bit to go on our steaks. He then brought out the same brand of wine and unexpectedly topped off our glasses, which I thought was extremely generous. He then proceeded to bring us a desert of our choice since we were celebrating a birthday, which we quickly chose the crème brûlée, my girlfriends favorite. It came out with a lit candle which was a nice touch and more importantly, tasted fantastic. Throughout the meal the service was excellent, we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. To top it off, on our way out, it started to rain heavily and one of the employees was kind enough to walk us to our cars under an umbrella. I didn’t hesitate to give Maya 5 stars and would have gave them more if possible. I’m already looking forward to returning as soon as possible

Everything was great. We did all three courses. The mushrooms appetizer were cooked in such a perfect way, and it came with fresh pasta to offset the strong flavor. The goat cheese was also really strong, but the honey was a perfect thing to go with it. The sea bass was cooked perfectly and the steak was cooked perfectly thanks to their suggestion. The chocolate cake was a prefect ending and by the end, we were so stuffed!!!

I’m only mad that I have not been here before prior to a big group dinner last night! The steaks were some of the best according to several members of our group — I had the giant Tomahawk cooked to perfection. Others had the filet, sea bass, NY strip. The wine selection was fantastic — knowledgeable bar tender! We splurged on numerous bottles of the Trinchero Cloud’s Nest Cabernet! Excellent appetizers, sides and dessert. Incredibly attentive staff and service. Can’t wait for my next trip to Maya.

V-Day Yes we came here on the eve of valentines which also happens to be my anniversary. At first I was a little anxious, as they had a fixed menu I was unaware of. But I decided to give it a go. And I am glad I took the chance. It was a three course meal. We started with the appetizers — shrimp with crabs and corn bisque. Next the house favorite — sea bass and steak. Lastly the desserts — creame brûlée and chocolate cake. Both of which were super. Their service was A grade. The place was well managed through the V day rush. Very romantic setting. They didn’t rush us and let us take our time enjoying every bite. It was priced at 65+ taxes+ gratuity per person. And if you want it paired with a wine it was 35 extra. They said it was the first time they tried the set menu and that we should come again to try the other great items on their menu.

Maya’s Steak & Seafood is one those restaurants that surprisingly can cook seafood just as well as they prepare steaks, which is the rare exception! The seafood was cooked exceptionally and it was one of the best steaks I’ve had in a while, especially in Atlanta. I would highly suggest the Maya’s crab cocktail and also throughly enjoyed the crispy lobster tail appetizer. The majority of their steams are aged and you will not be disappointed if you Oscar your steak, especially with the buttery lump crab. I would also highly recommend the creamed corn and lobster white truffle mac & cheese if you’re open to adding sides. Overall excellent dining experience, but the food overshadowed the service.

I can’t say enough good things about Maya. We simply loved our experience from start to finish. The fried lobster was a great appetizer; packed with flavor we wanted it to be 5x as big as it was! My husband had the filet and said it was one of the best steaks he has ever had. I had the Chilean sea bass and every bite was delicious. We both cleared our plates. We can’t wait to go back! (And as a bonus, Cam Newton was at the bar while we were there.)

This was our second time here. Mimo, the owner, and his team delivered the most amazing service. His food is exquisite. Kiran and I went there for our Valentine’s Day/Engagement Anniversary dinner. We made our reservations through Open Table for 8:00. We were seated promptly, service was timely, the Waiters were knowledgeable and the food was exceptional. Even though they were busy, detail to customer service was paramount. Mimo, thank you for helping me make our night a special one. We wish you many successes and highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants excellent service, excellent food and an excellent time.

Had dinner last night and overall this is a fair good restaurant, but for it’s price range it leaves a lot to be desired. I ordered the Tomahawk ribeye $ 46 medium rare, it came to the table almost well done, ordered a bottle of Stag’s Leap Cabernet $ 129 great wine, but came to the table HOT. Sadly the wine was stored on a high shelf over the bar and our server had to sit in in a ice bucket to bring down the temperature. Maya has a nice wine list, but they need to invest in a wine cellar/wine refrigerator to properly store their inventory, if for only the $ 100+ bottles. The seating is very tight, the service is attentive and well paced. Again, overall a Maya fair to good spot, but at it’s price range(total $ 335 dinner for 2 wine & tip) there are MUCH better choices within a short drive(i.e. Stoney River Steakhouse, Ken Rathbun Steak, Chops, Bones)

Service was very slow even though we arrived at 5 pm. Salad was average, filet was above average and dessert was below average. The fact thatcher had seating right next to the exterior seating area was horrible. In conclusion, an above average steak that is over priced for the rest of the amenities.

Fabulous wait staff and good bourgeois food. We came with our son for Christmas dinner since I spent the week recipe testing for my food blog(shameless self advertising) and I wasn’t cooking not a damn thing else. We sat in a little corner(which was great so our toddler could watch his Peppa Pig without disturbing everyone) and were 3 tables away from these very loud, pink faced drunk people who were talking about what they do when they do number 2. Don’t you love drunk people? We were chowing down on literally 3 baskets of bread and garlic butter while they started talking about their friends’ extra-marital affairs. Gotta love drunk people, man. My husband got the aged vanilla bourbon cask to drink, which we ended up putting into my glass of Coke because I wanted some too but it was too much for me. In the Coke, I approve. We ordered apps: the prime ribeye carpaccio($ 13) the seared ahi tuna($ 9) and the lobster bisque($ 9). We all loved the carpaccio, though I really could’ve used less sprout garnish on it; the tuna was absolutely delicious, but they really shouldn’t be so stingy with it: 4 slices! If we are paying $ 9 for a plate of tuna, I want a plate of tuna. I ordered an appetizer, not an amuse bouche. The lobster bisque wasn’t my favorite. It had a very awkward mouthfeel after it began to cool and didn’t taste like lobster, though there was a huge piece of claw meat sitting right smack dab in the center of my bisque. It was also a deeper brown than I am, I’m supposing it was from the brandy but there shouldn’t be THAT much brandy in lobster bisque. Unless you were purposefully trying to get me drunk, Maya. You cad ;). Entrées: I had the 16 oz Ribeye aged for 60 days($ 44) Oscar style, our son had the New Zealand Rack of Lamb($ 28) and my husband had the 18 oz Porterhouse aged for 45 days($ 44) along with the White Truffle Mac and Cheese($ 7) I’m gonna be honest with you, if you aren’t used to the scent or taste of truffles, don’t get the Mac and cheese. Truffles smell kind of like funky underarms and it tastes a little like it too, according to my husband. And it wasn’t really cheesy… I think bourgeois restaurants say ‘Mac and cheese’ and while you’re expecting this gooey, cheesy masterpiece… out comes a place of pasta with crumbly things on it that smells funky and breadcrumbs. That’s not what I was expecting. Okay, I know I’m not that bourgeois, since I consider that weird. But whatever. Anyway. The steaks were very good, though the chef overlooked my medium rare to medium, almost medium well. I just shut up and ate it, I don’t like sending back food. It was still good and the crab meat on top was delicious jumbo lump. No stringy little meat bits there. The bearnaise sauce was perfect and it came in a little personal gravy boat on the side. Honey, I poured the whole thing on my plate; thick buttery sauce goes good with everything! Our son loved his lamb chops, medium rare. He was such an enthusiastic little eater! Which is funny because he doesn’t usually like to each anything other than chicken and veggies. New age toddlers, haha. For dessert I had crème brûlée, which didn’t have a thick sugar crust so it was a weak crack, but the custard itself was very good. The little fancy old couple next to us(who just loved our son) had the tiramisu and that thing looks like someone built a fort onto a plate. If that fort was made of chocolate, marscapone, and coffee-soaked ladyfingers. With extra lady fingers on the side. As cannons, I guess? The total was $ 209 with the three apps, the two casks, three entrées, and crème brûlée.

Service was excellent. Food – top of the line. Went here for NYE dinner. Found it on Open Table and figured I’d give it a try based in the reviews. My date and I ordered the grilled oysters. Wow! Best I’ve ever had, and that includes those in New Orleans! My only complaint is that you only get 4. We ended up ordering a second serving! My 8 oz was cooked to a perfect medium. I never really understood«melt in your mouth» tenderness until now! I ordered melted blue cheese to top. It was very slow coming out, but they didn’t charge me for it. Good customer service. My date’s lobster was divine! Pricey, but worth every penny! I can’t wait to return!

Went here for Thanksgiving dinner. Truly great service, environment, and food. We had the mushroom and langostino appetizers. Each were equally amazing. I also had a casesar salad and the lobster bisque soup. The salad was good and the soup was a bit different than the typical bisque. Less creamy and more tomato-y in my opinion. Still great. A variety of entrees were tried. I had the filet and crab. It was perfectly cooked and so flavorful. Others had the bone in rib eye with foie gras and the chilean seabass. Will definitely be back. This is some of the best, if not the best, food we’ve had in Atlanta to date.

A very dear friend of mine chose Maya to dine for my celebratory birthday dinner… Excellent choice! We arrived at our reservation time and was seated immediately. The atmosphere was very intimate. The waiter was attentive. We ordered lobster bisque, lamb chops, and Chilean seabass, salad. The food was delicious!

Nice ambiance, attentive servers, excellent food… left little if anything to be desired Went with a group of 5 to celebrate my birthday, and we were wowed by everything. The lobster mac and cheese was to die for, the steaks(porterhouse– HUGE and filet mignon) were prepared to perfection, and the sea bass special was tender and flavorful. The crème brûlée is very good; however, the cheesecake is not a traditional looking one. It was round with a pocket in the center filled with berries– very interesting but not my favorite. Thursdays are ½ off bottles of ANY wine, so you can splurge on an excellent bottle and not feel guilty! Highly recommend this place for those looking for an intimate evening with excellent food and service.

DELICIOUS! I’m visiting from out of town & wanted a steak. I chose the right place! Started with the Maya manhattan. Awesome! Starter: grilled oysters were phenomenal Meal: 8oz filet, white truffle mac&cheese and asparagus. All were perfectly cooked how i requested. The steak sear & seasoning was great. They have sauce options but you definitely don’t need any. You’re going to spend some money. But if you don’t mind and looking for amazing meal(it took me about 45 minutes to eat it because i didn’t want if to end) this is the place! The bartender & owner were super friendly and very professional I think it is valet parking only. Which i don’t understand because the parking lot is so small but that’s the only thing i found to be off. Everything else was on point and highly recommend!

I went here for a friends birthday. We had the Chilean Sea Bass and the Rack of Lamb. The Chilean Sea Bass was probably the best Chilean Sea Bass I ever had. The Rack Of Lamb was just okay. I had a wedge salad and was somewhat disappointed in the portion size and the limited amount of bacon(there were four tiny little pieces of bacon). My friend had the escargot(I personally find this disgusting — just thinking of those slimy things it’s just yuck). Alas, she felt it had no taste and sent it back. They of course offered up something else but it fell on deaf ears as my friend was bummed as she had wanted the escargot. After she returned the Escargot, we advised the waiter we are Unilocalers and would write a review inclusive of pictures. I told them for two reasons: I wanted to be sure the rest of the food was good and because I wanted to give them a chance to put their best foot forward. This restaurant just went through an ownership change and became a steak house from a seafood restaurant. Thus, all things considered I would return and try other options. Keep in mind, the Chilean Sea Bass was the best I ever had. That says a lot as I always order Chilean Sea Bass. I will be back for it. I say cut them some slack, enjoy the Chilean Sea Bass and try the steaks. They age the steaks and are very proud as they put that on the menu. When we left there was no farting or burping so it went down and stayed down. It’s very important to note that. I’ve been out with this friend before and while she is a really hot babe her farts stink If you’re going, get the Chilean Sea Bass, avoid the Escargot and the Wedge Salad. Good luck and happy eating!!!

MAYA Steak and Seafood is a great new steakhouse with excellent service. We had a party of 6 and arrived around 7:30pm. The hostess immediately sat us down while we waited for the remaining group. The waiter Trent was very attentive and provided excellent suggestions for our appetizers, entrees & dessert. We started off with the Seared Bluefin Tuna along with the Langostinos. Both were delicious and well prepared. For the main course I ordered the Aged Ribeye(60 days) with a medium rare temperature. This was cooked to perfection. We also ordered a few side dishes. I would highly recommend ordering the White Truffle Mac & Cheese & the Spinach Sautéed. To finish off a great meal we ordered the Crème Brûlée. I am typically not a huge dessert fan but I must say this was a very good. Overall, the restaurant provided great service and a great selection of items that were well prepared.

Went for a late dinner and was very surprised how welcoming they were. We literally got there right before they closed so I know how annoying that can be for people in the industry. Explained wine options and made recommendations without any attitude. Service was on point. The food was pretty good as well. Started with mushrooms and lobster bisque. The mushrooms were served with linguini. I could have done without the pasta. The soup was delicious. I also had the rack of lamb with macaroni and cheese. The lamb had good flavor, but a little too much rosemary. It was getting stuck in my teeth. Not fun. The veal chop was also very good. Will be back again to try the desserts!
