I was recently left at the mercy of what turns out to be a rather infamous home buyer’s warranty company(I have since learned that the company has 1 star on Unilocal,700 complaints through the BBB in the last three years, etc.). When my four year old A/C system stopped working, I contacted them and they sent Reeds Crew Services out to check it out. The Reeds technician finished his last job early and was able come by my place early(after checking to confirm I was available). He appeared to do a thorough inspection to make sure the obvious problems weren’t the only ones and let me know that the compressor needed replaced. Bad luck on my part, with a 4 year old system… RCS was completely honest and upfront about all aspects of the repair. They let me know the parts were under a manufacturers warranty, they gave me a detailed quote so there would be no surprises in the costs or work they would be doing, and they contacted the home buyer’s warranty to authorize the work/payment. Unfortunately, the warranty company did not want to pay for the full repair(an issue that took me some work and communication with multiple members of that company to resolve) and so they declined Reeds and sent a new group out to begin the process again. It’s worth noting that in the end, they covered the same work from the new group. Who knew they wouldn’t be able to get someone to replace a compressor for $ 294.00??? In all fairness, I cannot speak to the quality of the final work that Reeds may perform. However, I wanted to share the following reasons I intend to use RCS for any future A/C and heating needs: 1) They were completely open and upfront about the whole process. 2) They stood by the quality of their work and refused to eliminate important steps of the repair to lower their prices as they were being pressured by the home buyer’s warranty company to do. They chose to lose the job rather than do substandard work. 3) Even after the warranty company informed RCS they would be working with someone else for this job, Justin Reed still called me to let me know that if I had any questions or concerns about the repair that was ultimately arranged through the home buyer’s warranty, that I should not hesitate to call him and that he would be happy to answer any questions for me that he could. 4) I see from some of the other reviews that Reeds’ prices may be a little higher than some. For me, I would gladly pay a higher price to: a) know exactly what I’m paying for from the beginning and not have any hidden, unexpected costs pop up; b) know that they have the experience to perform the work well and that they stand by the quality of their work; and c) know that they care about their customers(and even customers who were taken away by unscrupulous warranty companies). The repair for this compressor will be completed by another company because I have no say in the matter but Reed’s Crew Services will have my business in the future. Which, with my apparent luck with this unit, may not be too far away.

Reeds Crew has been our AC service company for years and each time they have exceeded my expectations with their service and quality. Techs are professional and knowledgeable. I will never have to worry about my AC again!

Overpriced! $ 100 for the service call and they will find lots of reasons to add up the bill.
