Delicious Sichuan Cuisine, friendly service, and variety on menu. Loved the bacon wrapped cucumber, chicken mushroom soup, spicy fish and chitterlings! Will come back again because I didn’t leave with salt/msg burn and every dish tasted excellent!!!

Came on a Sunday night. Not crowded so we were seated right away. We ordered the spicy chicken appetizer, chicken and potato stir, seafood tofu pot, and sesame pancake. The spicy chicken appetizer is exactly what I always expect from that type of dish(droolingly spicy and no bones!). I give that dish a 5⁄5. The chicken and potato stir was solid but nothing special. 4⁄5. The sesame pancake(cut into 8 pieces) was very comforting given the spicy dishes and their’s are super fluffy. 5⁄5. The seafood tofu pot was more underwhelming for me but decent. 3⁄5. They charge for tea but they give you options for different types. Jasmine tea was $ 3 for a pot. You can get some free popcorn but it tasted a bit stale and flavorless. The four dishes came out to around $ 60 which is pricey especially since the portions are not that big but the food was good. Workers are nice. Ambience/décor is a little tacky but it’s no big deal as long as the food is good.

This place is spectacular! I come here once a week, and I am always amazed by the delicious food and friendly wait staff. My favorite dishes include the beef tripe griddle, the chili chicken, the whole fish hot pot, and the shredded potato, just to name a few. They have traditional Szechuan food and also American style. It’s the best Szechuan restaurant I have been to in a while. Jenny and Helen are excellent servers. They always seem to anticipate what my friends and I want, they make great reccomendations, and they have wonderful charisma. You have to check this place out!

I can’t believe there is an authentic Sezchuan restaurant in this bay area, I went to a lot of Sezchuan style restaurants, but couldn’t find any one like really authentic, their food are delicious and fish was so fresh, I recommend people who love Sezchuan style food should come over to try! Wonderful service and amazing food! Love it and will come back again!

So good. Definitely try the string beans, any type of live fish, cumin lamb, and the tofu and crab soup thing. One of the best Chinese restaurants in San Mateo, and the people who work there are super nice.

Very authentic Szechuan food. The owner Jenny is very welcoming and recommended some good dishes, the Taro chicken, the Seafood Tofu, etc. Worth trying!

We decided to try this restaurant instead of going to our favorite szechuan restaurant and I’m disappointed we did. Everything we ordered was either flavorless or very, very salty. The cucumber salad was okay. The vegetable tofu soup was watery with no flavor. The chicken mushroom soup was filled with bones and a chicken foot(authentic perhaps but not to my liking). It was also very expensive for what you get. We hardly ate any of our dishes and had to go somewhere else to grab a bite because we were still hungry. I like to support independent restaurants/shops but unfortunately, I just cannot recommend this one.

The décor is unbelievably tacky, but I only rate on food. Every dish was terrible. The onion pancakes were the worst I’ve had on the peninsula. They were poorly prepared and lacked onions. The cucumber appetizer was bland. The chicken mushroom soup and salt and pepper fish were so salty that I couldn’t taste anything else. They were so salty, my water tasted strange. The chicken mushroom soup was filled with inedible chicken. It was basically unstrained broth for $ 12. The lotus root dish was nothing but lotus root. Salty spiced lotus root with a few pieces of pork. We took nothing home. We had to go to another restaurant to eat.

Service and people are nice. Food is kinda spicy(many dishes are). This is an expensive Chinese food compare to others, the dishes are very tiny. We had the double fried pork, it has only around 20 pieces of tiny small bacon in it — not worth the price.

Authentic sichuan food. It’s a Sichuan food place not a hot pot place. Place is not big but the owner is very friendly.

This is a must try new Chinese restaurant in the area. The foods are delicious. Many of their dishes are on the spicy side since the restaurant specializes in Szechuan cuisine. Their staffs are super friendly and very attentive. We were given popcorns as snack after being seated with a few minutes. There was not a moment we felt neglected while dining there tonight. I snapped pictures of all the yummy dishes that we ordered tonight but failed to note their English names. If you like spicy Szechuan cuisine, you definitely will enjoy what this place has to offer!

I came on a Wednesday night with a few coworkers. Tbh this place doesn’t seem that authentic to me. I definitely expected spicier food from the reviews. But then again, I came with people who were definitely more Americanized than Chinese. Maybe I’ll come again to get more authentic dishes. The waitresses are super nice but VERY pushy. They really made it hard for you to say no to. Food is also relatively expensive. We ordered only 5 dishes and it came out to about $ 25 – 30 per person(there were 6 of us). The waitresses really need to take their enthusiasm down a few notches. There’s just too much going on…

Actually, I was a little angry after the dinner in this place. So start from the good part: The seafood is fresh. The flavor is okay. And people are nice. But the bad part is they are really expensive compared to all other similar Chinese restaurants I’ve ever been. Most of the dish is very tiny portion. I really don’t think they worth that price. I don’t think I will go there again in the near future.

Excellent service… Jenny is great and very helpful. We love her. The private mini beer tap at the table ROCKS! The food is super good too. Option of rice or noodles… GETTHENOODLES. Comes with ground sausage on top. I own The SPOT on 25th café a couple of blocks away so as a business owner of a food establishment I can be picky at times. This place gets 5 stars. We will be back!

we were not offered the grand opening promotion(I didn’t see any signs for it either) very nice staff(a little over-board actually, but I won’t count this against them), but their food is a little expensive, décor is a little«unique», and we didn’t get very good dishes. — a waitress came by asking if we wanted tea(which gave me the impression tea was free), then she pointed on the menu for the list of prices(ranges $ 3-$ 5 each). we picked the ‘8 treasure tea’(translated on the menu as assorted herbal tea, I think), which was $ 5. served in a little Chinese cup(very cute), but not worth the $ 5. there was barely any tea flavor(I get a free cup of a similar tea every time I go for a foot massage…) — ordered shredded pork and preserved vegetable noodles. noodles were good. but the preserved vegetables were not preserved. — the chestnut chicken pot was tasty but it’s only scraps of chicken(parts of a chicken feet and maybe a wing worth). it was so sad. the bones were shattered, too. — everything was pricy for a Chinese restaurant in such location. unfortunate. though we love to support local business, but we probably wont go back again.

We ordered homemade sausage, Chinese bacon(腊肉), and pork slices with grounded garlic as beverages, Fish Fillets cooked with tofu and vegi(酸菜豆花鱼片), Pork Chestnut Pot(红烧栗子肉), and boiled lamp in hot chilly oil(水煮羊) as main dishes. They are all tasty. I recommend this restaurant and will come back.
