Staff was great but rooms were dirty and smelly! Refrigerator didn’t work just not what it looks like in pictures!

This hotel has really gone downhill. I’ve stayed here a couple times before but haven’t been back in about 6 months. The hotel seems dirty and the amount of trash outside of the rooms seems to pile up. The free breakfast is almost non-​existent and only consists of cereal and a couple apples. I feel like this place is on the brink of closing down because it seems neglected and falling apart. Being up here in San Mateo on business it’s hard to find a cheap hotel room and this one was still $ 140 a night and was not even worth $ 50 in my opinion. The only positive is that the room was relatively quiet so I could get a decent night’s sleep in a semi comfortable bed. I am definitely staying somewhere else next time. This place should only be a last resort.

Let’s say I thought hotwire failed me. Was looking for a quick cheap room in San mateo and got surprised with this place. I was bummed out my whole drive up here from Sacramento BUT ! to my surprise it’s actually very nice for a 1 star hotel. Newley remodeled rooms flat screen TVs hard wood floors and pretty retro deco. I must say I’m quite pleased. The lobby is very nice and the staff is very nice. I would not mind staying here again. The rooms all have stand up showers. And remodeled bathrooms as well I must say this is a hidden secret.
