Thanks, Unilocal, for alerting me to this event and for giving me the«in»(plus your great totes)! First off, prior to the notification about this event, I had no idea this park was even here. So, yay promotion! Bay Meadows Park is quite nice and it was neat to «meet» the living wall. In celebration of said living wall’s birthday, they had some REALLY tasty mini cupcakes(the vanilla was super-vanilla-ey)… wish I knew who made them because I would totally recommend them! They were that hard-to-nail combo of fresh and homemade but still professional flavor and presentation. I was mainly excited to come because I wanted to learn about«green» techniques for the garden. To be honest I didn’t see a *whole* lot of helpful booths on that front, but it was neat to interact with our local beekeepers’ group. They had some honeycombs and bees on hand for us to «visit» with(and the local bees were swinging by to check out the action, too). The highlight of these events is always the goodies :) I got a bunch of good samples of Zico coconut water(which I love in any event), and I got to try their new Latte flavor, which is not bad, and would be a good option for you if you enjoy Starbucks Frappuccino drinks. As someone else mentioned, many of the activities were kid-oriented – which is great but, as I don’t have kids, it wasn’t my demo. Scribble Me Happy’s booth was fun(«recycling» items to make art) and they welcomed even us «old kids» to try our hands at their paper beads and collages. Paper beads are a definite throwback to *my* childhood and collages have the potential to encourage young Robert Pollards. If they know who Robert Pollard is. Anyway… This was a really neat event in terms of raising my awareness of this park. It’s a really nice resource and I hope to visit again soon! I’m excited to go to some of their Edible Gardening events and I am also thinking this will be a good place to come by & walk around. They’re on my radar and I’ll be checking their website on a regular basis!

A cool event but mostly for the kids! There was a bubble station along with arts and crafts. Though it was great to be outside in lovely weather. Some of the booths were from a local honey place, Zico(the coconut water) and a local San Mateo bookstore. Great little event and it was nice to be outside! Oh and I love my new tote bag!
