The Marc

Marc is probably the wackest venue I’ve been to thus far. It’s cool that front row is right up against the stage but that’s about it. I saw Curren$y here and they were kicking everybody out that smoked… makes no sense to have a rapper like that there and be so tough on smoking. Literally, staff members would walk onto the stage hop in the crowd and had people escorted out. Even heard some were put in cuffs. Police on the balcony. I don’t plan on ever attending a show here again and I wouldn’t advise you to go to one here.

Update:
After my original post, the REAL owner messaged me and have promised to investigate into this incident. I have changed my rating because of the way the owner had personally reached out and explained that this type of behavior is not tolerated by him or any of his employees. He will be reviewing the security footage to locate the man responsible. I will update again once I find out the result of the investigation.

First NYE living in San Marcos and heard this place was offering «bottle service.» I’ve always done VIP, mostly in Las Vegas, because of the convenience of having your own server and area to sit, dance, etc. Before making the reservations I was assured what I would be paying for (besides alcohol) included a table for six and personal «bottle girl.» What we actually got was a table with three chairs, a mixer GLASS that was broken, a plastic cup as an ice scooper, trips to the bar to order shots because no one was taking care of us, and the pleasure of making each and every drink. Maybe these people don’t understand what VIP and bottle service is or how it’s done, but they definitely need help in that area. Cool venue, good music, good DJ’s, cute security, horrible service.

This was the second time that I had seen a show at the Marc. This venue has a rustic country feel. Both times I’ve seen shows here they’ve been country shows. The night of the Jason Abbott show my friends and I were able to purchase VIP bottle service seating which was awesome. Not only were we elevated above the crowded GA standing room only section, but we also had a private bathroom and bar on our level. There was comfy seating and plenty of room to move around. The sound quality is great in this live music venue. It’s a short 45 minute drive from Austin and is in a really cute college town. Would highly recommend this spot for any TX country fans to go see a live music show.

I went on Tuesday for 1 $ dos and when I asked to close out my tab I was charged 50 $. When asking the bartender what was going on because no way should I have been charged that much (like how many beers could i of bought) he had an attitude with me but said he voided it and only charged me 10 $ which would of been correct. Checking my bank statement, the bartender didn’t void it out, instead he waited till I walked away to charge me back the 50 $. I’ve tried calling but no one answers or has time to talk to me. The bartender are rude and looking at other reviews people’s tabs get overly charged all the time. My suggestion is never leave a tab open at this establishment

Went to a show here. I had a tab open went to close it and was told by the bartender that I didn’t have a tab and I was good. To see the next day I had been ridiculously over charged for my 3 drinks. $ 80 !!! I have tried emailing and calling to get this resolved. No one has gotten back to me.

The worst experience I have ever had on The Square. The sound system cut out every 10 minutes and everyone dancing had to stop as the DJ scrambled to make the music start again. You will receive the worst customer service possible, mgmt does not care. The club is full of men and very few women and its obvious why. Floor is always Wet and people are constantly slipping and falling.
