I really had a good time at this bar. Our waiter, I believe her name was Charlie.. .she was AMAZING! Made our first experience there even better. I love the bar atmosphere. Definitely will be coming here again. The chips and queso were really good! I wasn’t crazy about my actual meal. I may need to try something different. But, the place is great to hang out and drink.

A few years a go I used to be a huge fan of this place and their food. Recently, I have been(not for food), and have not been that impressed. They are out of the majority of their beers on tap on Sunday’s, the restrooms are dirty and our waitress did not know much about the beer. On anther note, for an Irish bar they only have 3 Irish beers– most of which they were out of. I cant say I will make an effort to go here anymore, which saddens me since I used to love it.

It’s been five or six years since our last visit. Back then only the salt and the beer were any good. This time we tried sitting outside. Too many flies. We moved inside and ordered the fish and chips. Well, I give it a 3 put of 5 stars. It was uncooked in the middle, AGAIN. Same as several years ago. So we ate around it. Top that, yes. We got up to use the restroom and the waitress clears our table of our refreshments. Slight improvement over the last time. Better beer, Samuel Adams and sea salt. It’s a cool place, but the food and service still suffer, and I doubt will ever change. Go to The Tap Room or Dog and Duck.

Horrible experience. Menus doesn’t state correct prices. Waitresses/Manager wouldn’t fix prices to honor the menu. Waited 20 minutes just for our drinks to be order. Beware there is not drink refills for fountain sodas. Very disappointed. Went for happy hour, which on the menu states is everyday, which again was not honored.

Very cool environment and a plus since they’re from Houston. But very poor service on a non busy day and on my birthday. I asked if they can put the game on a certain tv and didn’t. I have been waiting for my food for about 25 mins now.

Been here twice with a group of friends. College town. Lots of beers to choose from. Things to get: Irish Coffee. It’s no Buena Vista Irish Coffee from San Francisco but close. Burgers. Mushroom Swiss. The bun makes a big differences. Sweet potato fries. They didn’t look god but they tasted great. Lemon drop martini. My server spilled some and I shed a tear. Every drop is liquid gold. I wanted to lick the table to get the spillage. I didn’t. Table wasn’t too clean. The bar is dark probably for a reason. Chips and salsa. Chips were great! Salsa, eh. Tvs everywhere. Pool tables. Variety of foods. Big menu. I may be back but not in a rush.

I come every Sunday for my football games. The pulled pork sandwich is fantastic. But the service isn’t so good. I’ve been a waiter. Host. Manager. Even cook. I tip well. I’m a regular. It’s a lack of paying attention to your section.(I’ve been here for a full first Quarter of football without a simple greet.) Buy food is great. If you can get it.

I love this place. I use FAVOR to order food all the time. I also love the atmosphere, but rarely eat when I’m there which is the reason for the 2 stars. Whatever bartender works Wednesday nights is a complete douche. He’s arrogant, disrespectful, and flat out rude. He gets no stars.

Birthday lunch with the wife. Mid afternoon on a warm December Friday. Harp on tap was ruined by the bartender rimming with gobs of salt– without asking. Hey bartender– we are in our mid-50’s. Don’t lay your hipster salt rimmed glass on my delicious Harp on tap– leave that shit for the neck beards. Food– wife had the queso and chips with Mozz sticks– I had the queso, bowl of chili, and a house salad. The queso was spot on, delicious, fresh, and plenty spicy. Mozz sticks were usual and warm… marinara that accompanied was quite tasteless. Chili was old– not fresh, and tasted very tired. The salad was good, fresh, and tasty. Overall a decent experience– quite average actually.

Service was excellent — very attentive bar tender, the food came out quickly and the atmosphere was excellent — great local place !

If I could give this place 0 stars, I would. It doesn’t matter where you are from, this place is the definition of horrible service. We ordered nachos and a few burgers. We expected the nachos first and then the burgers, as any normal human would. It took almost 45 minutes for SOME of the food to come out. I waited almost an hour for a burger. Fries were soggy, bun wad gross. I would have sent it back but I was so happy to get food I didn’t. The waitress was unapologetic when half the order came out. Did I mention the place wasn’t even busy? The beer selection was nice. I’ll give them that. But these places are a dime a dozen in the area. Save yourself the aggrevating and go anywhere else.

This place has a nice patio. Lots of TVs but they seem to only get two channels. I think there is a shortage of ranch because it’s so thin here you’d confuse it for cold soup. The beer is good. Saturday there is. $ 4 pint special on Irish/English pints.

First off, this review is not about the food or waitstaff. The food and our waitress were great. This review is about the security/bouncer/id checker/whatever he calls himself. Came here last Tuesday night with my husband and cousin. Keep in mind that we are all over 25. We were just looking for a chill place to eat dinner. As we walk up, he checks my cousins ID, hands it back no questions asked. Takes mine, gives me a «wtf is this» look, and proceeds to play 20 questions. «What’s your full name? What’s your date of birth? What’s your address on your license?». As I’m standing there thinking what the hell, we will find somewhere else, my husband hands him my military ID. He then again asks«Whats your full name?». Dude seriously I get that I look 15 and we are in a college town but what the hell?! I’m 26 for Christ’s sake. He then tells me he «has to ask everyone these questions.» Pretty sure you didn’t grill my cousin or my husband. Later on, while we were eating, he lets 3 girls hope over the patio fence without checking a damn ID card at all. Sorry, but I don’t feel like getting treated like a underage college student with a fake ID when I want to eat dinner. Won’t be coming here again.

Great beer selection. Had the Texas Cheesesteak and it was good. Service was great. Went for lunch and not many people in the restaurant. Queso and salsa were great.

***Only bar and restaurant in San Marcos that allows dogs on the patio!!*** this is amazing. We need more places like this to take our dogs out! I like being able to do this instead of going to the food trucks. I like the food at Sean Patricks. This is a cool hangout spot with food, drinks, and pool. The food is pricey, but it’s delicious. Therefore, my friends and I go here only occasionally due to the price of food at Sean Patrick’s. Most of the time, our waitresses seem distracted and not fully there, or annoyed at serving more college students, even though they look about our age too. That just bothers me. Food and drinks and the fun atmosphere makes up for

3.8STARS! I eat here about six times a year. The menu evolves which is always nice to sit down to. The chicken wings are good but they are not baked. I swear they sent an email blast out about BAKEDWINGS. The salads are always fresh and their burgers are down right quality. The flavors you get with any of their menu items are what we need in more restaurants in San Marcos. There are only about two other places I’d recommend for quality cuisine and this place is at the top of the list. Heck even their tea is good. They offer some nice irish plates so maybe give them a try. With a full bar you can hang out and watch the big games. Enjoy!

This whole review will be predominantly hearsay because honestly I can’t offer much more after my visit here. Sign on entry says«seat yourself.» Now these tend to scare me because of the coin toss possibility of either good or bad. It’s like a «mystery bag» statement, your hoping for the best but nine out of ten times you know your going to end up with something you didn’t quite want/expect. Today was a beautiful day so we sat ourselves outside. Again this makes that statement even more scary in my opinion. Outside seating and I put myself here, do I exist, we shall see… And see… and see. My other half decided to go to the bar after waiting 10 minutes and that inevitable sinking feeling of invisibility setting in. From the bar he found there was a great beer selection and also was given some what seemed awesome food suggestions. He told me of all this news on his arrival back, there’s my hearsay. So yes our waitress did happen to stop by while he was gone. I guess she was my waitress !!! She seemed like the waitress just for the singing quartet that was there. She gave me a menu after I asked and I never saw her nor was approached by her again. We waited another 25 minutes and decided this was a bust. Any other time I’d be for the gaining of invisibility as a super hero power, but here in this instance I just found myself angered, thirsty, and unruly(Oxymoron statement in an Irish pub?)

I came for lunch on a Wednesday and was pretty pleased with everything. They have lunch express specials where most, if not all, of their lunch menu is about $ 7. It has a very wide variety of options to choose from and it’s pretty good! We started off with the spinach and artichoke dip which was so delicious! Super cheesy and creamy, so good! I got the fish and chips. It was HUGE! I did not expect that amount of food for a lunch special. The food itself was ok, I did love the French fries. The atmosphere is such a good place for lunch, or just to chill and play pool and drink when it’s crazy hot outside. Overall the service, the food, and the experience was good. I recommend it for lunch the specials are hard to pass up. Plus they always have some kind of drink special if you want something with a kick!
