Big Robs Burgers On the Square

Hell, yes! 9.25 got me a HUGE bacon avocado Swiss burger on TX toast with all the standard toppings (tomatoes, lettuce, pickles, mayo) plus hot fries and an icy cold canned soda.
There was enough of a wait to know it wasn’t made ’til I ordered, and just when I stopped poking at my phone to check the time I caught a delicious smell emanating from my left and prayed I was the one lucky enough to receive whatever was its source. Then I heard my name called and went to meet my fate.
Got home to find a perfectly foil-​wrapped square which, unfurled, revealed one of those giant, Dagwood dream sandwiches that looks you in the eye and says «this is going to get messy.» So don’t order it while in your black tie ensemble unless you brought a bib, but do step up if you have an appetite and like generous home cooking. I only needed one of the napkins he’d packed because I was super careful, but I’m glad he included two.
There must have been a whole avocado on there. One slice fell out when I unwrapped it and for the life of me I couldn’t find where it belonged because peeking inside, the whole burger was jam-​packed with generous toppings.
The fries are okay – in my house there were the sacred thin crisp fries my ma made when frying chicken once in a blue moon or «the kind you eat with ketchup.» These are decent fat, chewy fries which I ate with ketchup, and I got a good-​sized serving. I might skip them next time but only because the burger is SO MUCH I just don’t need any sides. I would happily have split the burger with a friend and been full enough.
This isn’t something I could personally order all the time, but it is a great treat and maybe even comfort food without having any gimmicky toppings. Place is open pretty long hours so I have the chance to hit it after work without driving like a crazy person. The man behind the counter seems to be a sweetie. I am *so* coming back for a patty melt if I ever become hungry again.

Burger was realllllly good But the fries were a little too hard for my taste, but some people prefer that. The burger wasn’t overly messy either which was nice!
