I would eat here twice a week if they had better retried beans and rice. There salsas are not great either. They should team up with Tacos Acapulco’s recipes. The Carnita Tacos at Splash Café are so much better.

What do you call cheese that’s not yours? Nacho cheese! Nachos are usually the first thing I try at a Mexican restaurant… I know, there are more authentic things to eat. Yet here we are. Nachos. I love nachos, of all shapes, sizes, and flavors. A good thing to note: if you like cheese sauce on your nachos, you’ll like these. If you’re looking for melty heaps of shredded cheese, look elsewhere. Since I like cheese sauce and melty cheese equally(maybe not REALLY equally, but close), it works for me. But wait! The nachos are not the thing to get if you’re here on a weekend! Ceviche tostadas. Get them, and love them, and thank me later! They are magically delicious! Unless you don’t like seafood, then get… Steak fajitas! A sizzling platter of peppers, onions, and beef. Or get the nachos. Supreme. With grilled chicken, and jalapeños. The salsa bar, you must get chips. You must get the hot chili oil. It will hurt so good!(It really is delicious, make sure to not get just pull but also the spices and pepper flakes that are all settled at the bottom. The flavor is extraordinary.

It’s a walk up and order then sit down and be served. The have oneof those newish creat your own coke machines with a 1000 combinations… yay for orange coke zero! Best Chili Verde in SLO, green deliciousness, come hungry, order a burrito with nothing by chili verde in it, prepare to spill on your self and leave full and happy, I have had a few fatty bits though, so that is why 4 not 5 stars, becuase seems like I always have one… Another favorite it is pastor, very good seasoning, and nachos and big and shareable for 2 as an entrée or a for the table treat. The carne asada fries are good, but they are the big fries, which I like but just was not expecting. The salsa bar is very good, the hot oil stuff is very hot, and oily but well you should expect such. The next hot one is not just hot but flavorful so I usually eat it until my mouth is on fire and then remind myself to stop because I will become to full, or cause my taste buds to not be able to enjoy the meal. Te green sauce is also very good and a good pairing with the hot for a two in one salsa. Usually the wait is not long for food, and staff is nice. They accept cards, parking can be a bit tricky, as it is a busy strip mall, but there is always something available just maybe not in front.

Still the best place for taco Tuesday. $ 1.25 tacos and lots of choices. Sometimes instead of tacos I will get a burrito. The basic bean, rice & cheese is $ 3.25 and filling. Very fast service even when it’s busy. The staff is always friendly. The only bummer is chips are $ 0.50 on Tuesdays, but it’s worth it… It is only $ 0.50 ;) Their salsas are yummy too, options for everyone’s spice tolerance.

I love this place, for crispy tacos. Why the 3 stars? The last time I was here with my husband and son, they lost our order. We left after many apologies from the staff. This time, the tacos weren’t crispy fried. Is it too much to ask? I do expect crispy tacos, crispy. I’ll be back, next year.

When it’s lunch and I am near I can actually hear the steak burrito calling my name. Great service, clean and nice. Love the chips and Salsa bar. Best steak burrito in SLO!

I always pass by here every time Im on my way to DTSLO. So, I finally took a lunch break here. OMG! They’re packed! I had Al Pastor burrito and a side of 3 crispy chicken taco. For my taste, they were great! Not a lot of salt and served in a big portion and they provide an ALLYOUCANEAT chips and salsa so you wont finish your meal lol. There are a lot more to try on their menu, which I will come back and try them. The prices are decent for the portions they served.

Really like the food. It was tasty and a lot to finish. The place was super crowded but the service was fast. You have pay first and find a seat and they will bring the food to you. A lot of locals which tells you that you can not go wrong. Reasonable priced. I will be back.

Horrible customer service This is the third time I’ve been here. I live close by, so I was really trying to like it. The last two times I made excuses for them. But today was horrible. The food mediocre at best, not what I ordered, and full of American cheese. The woman at the counter acted like she didn’t want us there. The food was not brought to us until it was cold.

I eat lunch here at least once a week. Food is ALWAYS yummy. I like the fresca salad with carnitas and the chile verde plate. Fresh made chips and salsa bar are my favorite. I wish they would sell the hot salsa! And don’t miss taco Tuesday’s. $ 1 tacos and beer specials-yay! Carnitas tacos are awesome here. I Love ths place

Dang! I have driven by this spot a lot and had no idea that it was here. I would have continued to drive if someone hadn’t said to stop and try it. So glad I did. It’s a walk up and order and pay before you eat spot which is fine. The salsa bar was great and the chips were fresh and hot. The burrito I had was really good. I got the machaca and it was great. My friend had total order envy. I’ll come back again for sure. Plus they have horchata.

It’s cheap, sure. But it’s not a seat down restaurant, that’s why its cheap. No way close to good mexican food. Their menu is kinda confusing, and the cashier was pretty impatient when my husband asked what comes in a burrito. Fajitas is extremely greasy. It’s like Moe’s or Salsaritas style place, but food is no where comparable. Will never go back for sure.

This place wouldn’t last a month in San Diego, but I guess that’s why they set up shop in «SLO«, because people don’t know what real Mexican food and value is. I’m from Oceanside, Ca, and Mexican food restaurant’s would never put rice and bean’s in your burrito, unless you asked for them. Taco Roco stuffs there burrito’s with rice and beans, to avoid giving you the meat, that costs them money. Bean’s and rice are cheap fillers that make you think you you’re getting a fat burrito, but you’re getting no meat. I once asked for no rice and beans in my «steak» burrito, and it was the size of a small Frozen burrito, for $ 8. But I guess student’s from Idaho don’t know any different, so this dump will press on, with plenty of rice and beans for its patron’s, way to go Taco Roco, Crap !!!

Poor customer service. As Maria at the register was taking my order I noticed her rolling her eyes at me. She was extremely rude and as a result I will never be coming back here.

Stopped by for Taco Tuesday. Tacos were $ 1.25 each except fish tacos which were $ 2. Personally, I feel that crispy tacos are only okay at Taco Bell, but if that’s your thing, you can choose to get your tacos soft or crispy here. I ordered 1 grilled chicken taco, 2 barbacoa tacos, and 1 crispy fish taco. The chicken & barbacoa were pretty decent. The chicken was pretty average, and the barbacoa was pretty good. However, sometimes it wouldn’t be shredded well and just come out in giant chunks. The fish taco was straight up nasty. It wasn’t crispy, tasted fishy like the fish they used were super old, and the salsa it was topped off with tasted not sour and not fresh. I took like 2 bites and couldn’t finish it.

The short: Yay for Taco Tuesday! Cheap tacos. I ordered soft tacos: two barbacoa and one carnitas. The meat was well-flavored. Some parts seemed bland and cold, but I still loved the whole experience of Taco Tuesday. I can’t wait for my next one! You have to pay for the bowl($ 0.25) for the chips, but it’s unlimited! It comes with a choice of salsa too :) The décor of this place is also very welcoming. I’m glad they paid attention to the overall atmosphere. If it was sparse, I’m certain I wouldn’t enjoy it as much. Also interesting was the nook for storage and beverage advertising, haha. Not quite sure what that was for. I almost expected a band to pop out from behind the counter, heheh

I like coming here for taco Tuesdays all the way. It’s cheap, delicious and easy. I’m pescatarian so I still to their grilled fish tacos for 2 bucks a pop. 2 of those suckers will do you a fine dinner with the supplement of their great chips and salsa bar! I made the mistake of ordering 4 once and that was definitely overkill on my part… the fish tacos especially are awesome because they don’t skimp. They are large and filled with tasty fish, a delicious mango salsa and crunchy cabbage. Great sweet and sour and salty elements. Hits the spot for sure. Be warned though. Tuesdays are busy and very popular. The line is usually to the door but the crank out that food amazingly fast. I wouldn’t come here on a non-taco Tuesday day. I got a burrito on a Monday and it was just mediocre. kind of bland and expensive for the size(I’d rather have chipotle at that point) also tried the strawberry margaritas and it was sticky sweet and artificial tasting. Yuck. Would not order it again
