I’ve been going for years. It’s not a fancy place but their old school donuts are great. Don’t go here if you want cereal on your donut or or want to wade around in a sea of students or want to stand in line forever while a slow and rude employee picks out your donuts without a care in the world, but if you want a great old school donut this is the place. Im a huge cake donut fan and they nail it. I’ve had run ins with a few different employees there, they have all been very friendly and super accommodating to me. Mostly I deal with the younger girl working there and she’s really nice. If I want a sprinkle donut and don’t see any, she will go dip one fresh, and I’ll tell you, a fresh dipped donut is the best. I’ve also had their bagel egg sandwich here, it was good enough for me to order it again. Their coffee won’t compare flavor wise to other places but it gets the job done, wakes me up. Overall I love this place and spend $ 15 a month here.

Wow what a cluster*uck this place has become! I used to come here every Sunday on my way to swap meet to get a decaf coffee for me, milk and oj for my girls, and donuts for all 3 of us. We used to enjoy their donuts but they have slid downhill. It started with having to wait for them to brew decaf because they wouldn’t make it until someone ordered it. Then donuts were not always ready and I would have to wait for my selections. All the plain ones came out first. I guess they figured if they didn’t have what people want they would buy anything they could. The next step was quality. I started to notice subtle changes. Perhaps cheaper filling or thinner chocolate. I think maybe they focused too much on commercial accounts. I didn’t notice whether prices had gone up yet. Then I guess their relatives started running it for them as she was pregnant and customer service went way down. It got to the point where I preferred Sunshine Donuts even though I didn’t like the selection there. I stopped going for some time. They stopped serving decaf, cut back on production to sell out sooner(maybe people just buy what is left), and lost the personal touch unless they know you. She remembered me even though I had not been there for a long time. This morning was the last straw and I will NEVER buy anything there again. When I say never there are businesses I have not been to in many years and I steer people away from. Add this place to my list. I showed up after 4am, sign says open. I hear him call from the back so i waited. He took a while but i was being patient. In the past they have had donuts in the back so I told the owner what I wanted. He grumbled something and pointed to the few trays of uninteresting donuts he had out, perhaps leftovers the way some looked mixed. I asked if that was all he had then he threw up his arms, grumbled again, and I pointed out that the sign says open. He waved his arms at me as he continued to the back. I told him I will never come there again but I will also relate my issue to others and on social media. I think they lost interest in the business and it is just a chain around their necks. I think they should sell it before they run it into the ground. I almost gave an extra star for the memories but HE doesn’t deserve his wife’s star.

Our party tried maple, Boston cream(which she filled fresh), sugar donuts. They were light and fluffy and delicious. The young lady was patient and helpful as we had never ordered donuts from a CA shop before. Different types than East coast donuts. Loved each one and want one every day!

I got there at 7am, a guy from the back comes ought with a phone to his ear, then looks at me and says«what do you want» I was surprised on how he approached me with that greeting. I asked for decaf coffee, then he simply says«we don’t have none» and then that was it, no sorry or anything. I said okay, and he just walked to the back. I’ve had a donut here one time before this, and I recall that it was good. They are lucky I’m not rating them a lone 1 star.

My wife and I stumbled onto this place while shopping at Von’s. They make the best chocolate chocolate cake donut in SLO. This donut is not too dense and always fresh, even the next day with our morning coffee. Also tried the maple bar that is very good. The bar is light in texture. Only comment is I would like the maple to have a little more flavor. Regardless, we are both very happy we found this place.

The donuts are very tasty and personally I liked them better than SLO Donut Co. The lady who worked there was very sweet and gave me an extra donut. Thank you!

Chocolate glazed with cream cheese — Awesome! Glazed with sour cream– surprisingly AWESOME! Coffee — the best I’ve had in SLO, incredible! It didn’t matter that the girl’s English wasn’t perfect and that she misunderstood a couple things, I am happy and she was smiling the whole time, this place should be full!

When the donuts from here are freshly made they are good. I’ve tried bacon maple, chocolate bar with bavarian cream and classic sprinkle. The sprinkled ones aren’t the best, but the other two are pretty good. Just make sure to get the donuts when they are freshh like the name or you might be dissapointed. But not bad.

This place has the best donuts in town. They are always fresh. Staff/owners are so nice and if you go in there enough they will know exactly what donuts you want without asking. They also give a free donut or donut holes!
