I’m an actor, but I’ve never had a singing voice. Last year, I wanted the role of the Dentist in Little Shop of Horrors, but I had to sing to audition and sing even more if I got the role. I googled singing lessons in San Luis Obispo and I chose Roz because she offered an initial consultation and mini lesson free of charge to see if I had the potential to pull it off.
Roz is a great teacher. She taught me how to breathe correctly and how to do all the things I need to do to bring out my singing voice. She is patient and pleasant and ultra-​knowledgeable. After a month and a half of lessons, I can sing! I auditioned, sang the Dentist! song, and landed the Dentist role and I couldn’t have done it without Roz.
Fast forward to last month — they announced auditions for the Wizard of Oz. I called Roz and set up more lessons to prepare me to sing «King of the Forest» for the audition and «If I Only had the Nerve» after I landed the role of the Cowardly Lion!
Once again, I’ve always thought that I «couldn’t» sing. It turns out that I just didn’t know HOW to sing. If Rosalind Crew can teach ME to sing, I’m sure she can help you too. Really, I was terrible. I used to sound like one of those American Idol rejects that everyone laughs at, and now I’m singing in my second major lead role in a musical thanks to Roz. How cool is that?

Roz is an incredibly knowledgable voice teacher whether it be singing or speaking. I came to her after throat surgery had led to years of vocal abuse. With her help I have been able to overcome many of the bad habits and for the first time in years I am singing again. Roz is encouraging and supportive while at the same time demanding the best of me. Her teaching methods are so effective that it is hard not to succeed. She finds such joy in teaching and that rubs off onto me. I look forward to every lesson. Anyone who has ever wanted to sing should spend time with Roz. You will not regret it.

I have been to many voice teachers over the years and out of all of them, Roz is absolutely the best. Not only does she have an exceptional knowledge of voice, but she also has an amazing ability to teach, which allows her to pass that knowledge on to her students. Roz certainly has her own style, but she is ready, willing, and able to work with any style of singing and help her students discover their own voices. My personal favorite part about my lessons is how comfortable and unintimidating the environment is. Roz’s studio is a place where you don’t have to be afraid of imperfections — it’s a safe place to make mistakes and explore your voice. I leave each lesson having learned something new and exciting, eager to try out my new tips and tricks and keep singing.
