I only went to try this place because my mother dragged me here. And I wished that was the worst part of the adventure. My mother ordered Dungeness crab and noodles for 35 $ and I ordered the garlic butter shrimp. We got our order and immediately sent it back. They only serve you one crab leg broken up mixed in with shrimp that still had the heads. Unaware the meal came with shrimp and only one crab leg. Completely over priced especially for only one crab leg. The garlic noodles were ok. Did not like the fried rice, it remind me of white rice mixed with carrots and string beans. Will not be returning.

Never wanted to eat here cuz of the name and the bad reviews, but decided to go because of the groupon. To my surprise, place isn’t bad except on the account of no bathroom. Anyway, so we ordered a lb of hurricane mild shrimp which was pretty good. And also lb of coconut curry shrimp yummy. Both shrimp is good, messy eating. They should provide bibs like hang ten in Hayward or all other shrimp places in San Jose but this location is more of a fast food kind of place. Not really meant to get ur hands dirty kind of place. I see a lot of the reviews say small portion but we also ordered Cajun fries and Coke slaw which had a good size portion. I liked the gumbo too, doesn’t taste authentic but still yummy. I also really liked the garlic noodle, full of garlic– chow mein style. I liked the food.

We got a Groupon for this restaurant since we were craving cajun food and this popped up in the search bar. The Groupon was for $ 40 worth of food so we were able to try a decent amount of stuff. The restaurant is located outside the mall and was pretty empty when we went, it is more of a togo style than a sit down restaurant. The cashier working here was friendly and welcoming he had a great smile and attitude. We ordered a lb of mussels, a lb of shrimp, garlic noodles, 6 Cajun wings mild, gumbo, and rice. The sauce here is sweeter than kicking crab, less oily than boiling crab, less garlic than crab town but still delicious!!! If you can’t tell already I really love Cajun food and have tried almost every place in the bay area /socal. The mussels here were a bit rubbery, but the shrimps were super fresh and soft. The cajun wings here are battered and covered in the same sauce the seafood is. The gumbo was tasty but didn’t have any special flavor, but then again I’m not sure how gumbo is actually supposed to taste like. Come here and try some food to go !! It is great to take home and eat with veggies and rice.

I ordered the garlic crab during my first visit there and was pleasantly surprised by how tasty my crab was. The perfect amount of garlic and butter. Worth the $$ when you feel like spoiling yourself.

I tried their gator sausage, taste like any regular sausage but a little dry. And found it to be a little pricey for how little you get. Had some garlic noodles and that was a little bland. I don’t really have a desire to try rest of menu. I never see much customers here; they need a revamp of their menu or I wouldn’t be surprised if they went out of business.

Okay, who would name a restaurant SwampX? That’s my first thought when I walk by this place after a Target run. It wasn’t until I walked in just now that I realized C’Asian means Cajun Asian fusion. So the name makes some sense in a Cajun sort of way. Though from the outside the name doesn’t seem all that appetizing. In keeping with the swamp theme I ordered the alligator sausage lunchbox. I came in a plastic to go container. The sausage tasted like sausage, if I didn’t know I would not have thought I was reading a reptile. The fried rice was okay however the cole slaw was actually pretty good. Which is saying something because I don’t normally care for it. It also came with some nice butter garlic dipping sauce which I dumped on my rice to give it some flavor. I would have liked a larger portion of gator, the meal was mostly rice. Nothing too exciting here but still decent, I was hungry and this place was convenient, and it got the job done.

Great concept easy location in San Leandro but the food… not my cup of tea. I wouldn’t call it Creole or Cajun, it’s more Asian with unusual spices added. The beignets were edible(sort of) but more like doughy, thick, heavy doughnuts with powdered sugar than what a beignet should be. Garlic Noodles were ok. I mean really, how hard is it to make garlic noodles? They managed to make them somewhat satisfactorily. The gumbo is just terrible. Actually the worst gumbo I’ve ever had. FYI: Gumbo without File is soup or jambalya but what they serve is neither. The sweet potato fries were ok. I wanted the food to be better and the staff nicer. I give it a two star rating for the effort but I won’t be back.

We were going to target when we saw this eatery. We ordered oysters, shrimp, fries, gumbo, begients, and pepper pork. The gumbo was very good but the oysters were ok. The watermelon iced tea was very refreshing. The sweet potato fries we good also. The service there was good too.

I have been here plenty of times for their fried shrimp, they are really good but you don’t get enough. You get about 6 for 6 bucks. But I had decided to finally try something else because I was looking through their pictures. I got the crab with garlic noodles in a very very delicious garlic butter sauce, I also added hot links and shrimps to my plate. This place isn’t as pricey as if you were going to a fancy seafood place, and this place actually taste a little better and you actually get a wonderful amount of food. I am so happy I finally found another seafood place that is around the corner and never crowded. Because I used to go to ARTSCRABSHACK in Hayward but they shut down. I would definitely recommend this place. 10STARS!!! I will post my picture.

I had their $ 2.50 cup gumbo with rice and $ 5 catfish. The gumbo was a little too peppery but still yummy. The catfish was bite sized and flavorful.

I tried this place a few times and I can say that the flavors are really good. I ordered the hurricane shrimp with noodles. The sauce is great, very Similar to boiling crab whole shebang sauce. The noodles were quite sticky and seemed like chow mien noodles. The portion size was huge but I’ve had at most 6 medium size shrimp with the order which is disappointing considering it cost $ 14. Each time I’ve gone, I’ve ordered Togo and it’s come with different sides. The first time it came with cole slaw, next couple times it came it cole slaw and a side of potato and corn. So I honestly never know what to expect. The Thai ice tea was pretty good. My reason for 4⁄5 stars is simple portion size of seafood for the price you pay.

Be careful when you use your card here. They knew they charged me $ 1,000 for gratuity and still continued with the transaction. Now I’m stuck filing a claim and with a negative balance on my time. Inconvenient with my time and money. Food was not even good, they need to take themselves back to «Louisiana«where they said their restaurant originally came from or their family out there. (the Asian girl with the round face helped me. When I spoke to the manager and told him the amount I was charged and all the overdraft fees I was getting hit with. He had the nerves to say«holy shit»…not professional at all.)

Tried the whole garlic crab, garlic noodles and wings. The garlic crab was pretty lack luster. The sauce was a white garlic sauce that really wasn’t what I expected. When I think of whole garlic crab I expect it to be sweet fresh and full of garlic flavor. This was tasteless and just soaked in this white almost milky sauce that didn’t compliment the crab at all. The garlic noodles were dry and barely tasted like garlic. The wings were fried and soaked in some pineapple type wet sauce which wasn’t tasty either. Great location but lack luster food. If this location had good food they’d do well but as it is I don’t expect them to be around for much longer . Total bill: $ 38 I recommend Thanh Long in SF or Crustaceans for that price range per person.

Swamp is a cajun spot on Geary st. in S.F. now it has taken over the cheesesteak spot in BayFair. menu: regular boil menu w/starters, shellfish, add on’s. this and that + a grand opening menu-slightly cheaper(lunch box, apps, entrees, and drinks.) eats: garlic noodle(3) –dry, slight garlic taste clam chowder(2) –clam chowder broth thin, tasty, many clams and some bay looking leaves slight flavoring from bay leavesm, chowder med, not thin or thick take outs: –shellfish for boil slightly cheaper than rocking crawfish, starters cheaoer too. –only a few tables for sit-in. –flatscreens tuned to sports on the wall –service ok, food ready in minutes in the afternoon. –primed/priced for take out. can eat in under funky atmosphere –good chance to try entrees on the cheap before specials expire rather eat the apecials here than another chain burger, f.y.i. 2.75 stars(flavor/quality slightly off).

Decided to try this new place that took over the former cheesesteak location next to Target in Bayfair mall. They had great grand opening specials! I’ve mentioned before. The market is saturated with these Cajun boil places, and this restaurant is no exception. It’s actually called«Swampx, C’asian Boil»(get it? Haha). Bayfair mall is opening a lot of new businesses and I don’t know of any other Cajun boil restaurant in the area… We got the Dungeness Crab and Noodle($ 27 grand opening special!), in house special sauce, mild. This was good, I didn’t have any expectations so I was satisfied. I loved that they cracked the crab for us, and the sauce was definitely unique. This is where you get the Asian twist, as the house special sauce had curry flavor. Not overpowering at all — but not my preference. They have different flavors too. The garlic noodles were good as well, just the right amount of garlic and it was NOT swimming in butter like other places usually have it. We also got the fried oysters which were PERFECTLY fried. Not«sea» tasting neither. The bf had the gumbo($ 2 grand opening special!!). I didn’t try it, but he says«it was cool, tasted like any other gumbo» For drinks I had the Thai Iced Tea and he had the watermelon iced tea. Thai iced tea was pretty standard, and the bf enjoyed the watermelon iced tea. BIG minus is that there is no bathroom here, and they did not even have wet naps/wipes. People will be eating with their hands, so I hope they reconsider this. Overall, good for a new spot, and I’d come back to try a different sauce with their shrimp. Grand opening specials until 3−31−15!

I work over in this area so I was excited to try out the new place that replaced the cheesesteak shop… not sold on it quite yet. I’ve been here twice. the first time I got the hurricane shrimp lunch special. it was actually pretty tasty, but it cost around $ 12, which to me is a bit much. the coleslaw is kind of… just there. second time I got the spicy cajun chicken wings & the garlic noodles off the grand opening menu. the wings were good. spicer than I expected but still good. the garlic noodles by them self were dry. not too much garlic or butter flavor. the two of those were about $ 7. both times they’ve been nice & answered any questions I had. I’d give them another star though if the garlic noodles were better.

Saw this place as I went to Target. Was excited to try it as I didn’t have to drive far. Pretty good prices for their grand opening, however, most of the offerings were not available. Disappointed that I wasn’t able to try more stuff. I ordered the shrimp and clam combo in hurricane sauce. It was Ok but my sis in law ate most of it. So I will need to go back and try the sauce again. The $ 2 cup of clam chowder was Ok. Garlic noodles needs more garlic. Also, got crab in the garlic butter sauce. I liked that the sauce was not covered in a layer of grease like other places. Will come back to try their hurricane sauce and hopefully they will have crawfish and the gumbo.

I was intrigued when I heard a new Cajun place had opened at Bayfair mall. I wondered if they would be as good as Hang Ten Boiler in Hayward ? Answer No. I jumped into my Whip — White Rabbit and rolled to Bayfair Mall . Theres Plenty of Parking . Swamp is Located to the Left of Target, In Between Wing Stop and the Hawaiian place. They Opened Feberuary 27th. They did a Nice Job remodeling the place. Theres 2LCD TVs for entertainment . They also have a Surveilance system . Theres a Specials Boards with a Lot of Grand Opening Specials . I rolled in and Perused the Specials Board . I ordered — The Cajun Wings –Spicy, Fried Calamari, Fried Catfish and Clam Chowder . I paid By Credit Card. 10 Minutes later I had my food . Fried Calamari– Small Portion and a Rubbery Texture to it . Fried Catfish — Small Portion –Small Pieces like Popcorn Catfish tasted good though. Hot Wings — These were good and had a nice Kick to them. Clam Chowder — Had the Consistancy Of Watered Down Cream Of Wheat . Service was good, Counter person was nice. I wanted to like Swamp. But it just didnt meet my Standards . I wont be back.

This dump is a slap in a face to my culture you can’t put an ASIAN twist to soul/cajun cuisine. I will not be back this is one of the many reasons Black owned soul food joints do not last cause my people would rather support copycats this food was cold and tasteless.
