Via Mia Pizza

This was actually my first introduction to Via Mia, and it was a pretty bad introduction, to be honest.
This location was very close when I used to live on the border of Campbell in San Jose, and I went into the store and ordered one of their pies. The store itself is very small; there’s really just a counter and a few chairs available.
This isn’t at all a sit-​down pizza place, and it’s clear that they intend for you to get your pie and take it back home. Nothing wrong with that, especially since my home was so close by.
When I opened the pizza box, I was initially intrigued by the fact that it came with hot sauce. It’s something you don’t see every day, and I got a bit more excited about the pizza.
Perhaps there was a reason for the hot sauce because, if not for that, the pizza would just be utterly tasteless.
I didn’t return after that, and was very reluctant to give their Santa Clara location a chance when I moved out to Sunnyvale. Boy, was I glad I did; it’s one of my favorite pizza places in the area.
It’s amazing the difference in quality between restaurant locations that hold the same name. My best advice is to go to Santa Clara for Via Mia.

We ordered delivery from this location. When the delivery guy showed up an hour later I signed the reciept left a tip and we got our food. The pizza was ok, nothing special, but good enough. About a week later I checked my account and the delivery guy had added to his tip! I called the location and they faxed me the receipt. It wasnt my signature! The numbers didnt even look right! I guess he thought i didnt give him enough. So i called and spoke to the guy again. He didnt sound like he believed me at all or was going to do anything about it. I went down to speak to him in person and he told me hed credit my account the next day when the bank was open. I called my bank today and he hadnt done any of it! These guys dont care about anything but getting their money and their pizza isnt even that great. I will definitely NOT be going back here ever again. Id rather drive down to south san jose for Fast Pizza than get delivery from these guys. Fast Pizza is cheaper anyway. Horrible customer service.

1 star or LESS! Original order-​taker seemed to have it all worked out; at 7pm, I ordered a large combo pizza & a 2 liter, he said they would arrive within the hour, Great… waiting… waiting. 2+ hours later! No one is answering the phone at all. called back 4 times after the first hour to check on the status. they are not even answering, not even a machine. Finally the driver calls me and by this time, I am so over it, I just tell him to cancel my order. I Should have read the reviews before trusting them in the first place. Ugg! now I know.

Ordered at 7PM, called at 8PM to find out where’s my ‘zza. Guys swears it already left. 30 more minutes go by so I call back, put on hold and no one ever comes back on the line. Pizza finally shows 1 Hour 45 minutes after order… it’s cold, crust is under cooked, and linguica is raw. All in all pretty gross. Final straw for me was that at no point during any of my calls or the delivery did anyone apologize for talking so long; the driver would not even look me in the face. Never again.

Delivery took over an hour. We ordered a pepperoni pizza, and the pepperoni was this cheap, tasteless, triangle shaped meat. Not to mention that the delivery guy forgot our 2 liter coke. He says he’ll come right back with it, and an HOUR later he finally brings it.
I could get a tomato and smack it on a piece of cheap white bread, and it would taste better than this place can make a pizza.

What just happened… I ordered a pizza and it’s been over an hour and a half since. It was a simple order and they said they delivered to my address (they checked). I’m calling them now and all I am getting is a busy signal for the past ten minutes… can they really be that busy at this hour in the middle of the week… we will see. but as of right now, I’m starting to think the reviews below me were right…
:flash-​forward 15 more minutes:
The guy shows up– finally. I still tipped him because. well if I didn’t. I’d feel bad. I opened the pizza, starving-​and it was luke warm. Probably because it was almost an hour and a half after I ordered it. Ugh, should have just picked up a pizza from the Via Mia from Saratoga or from the Camden location. I’ve never been disappointed there. The other part that sucked was when I ordered, this location didn’t offer the roasted garlic. which tastes amazing on pizza and which they DO offer at other locations. Bummer.

The cheese had a taste and consistancy similar to plastic. The sauce was bland. The crust was the headliner, but really, who looks forward to crust?
I always finish my pizza but I couldn’t finish this one.

Well, the pizza’s delicious. That’s the only reason why I didn’t give them one star. First of all, both times I have ordered from them, the driver got lost and couldn’t find my house. It’s really not that hard to locate, all of my first-​time-​visitor friends have made it here just fine. Second of all, the service is pretty terrible. I ordered pizza from them on a Friday night at around 7pm. They gave us a standard delivery time (about 30 minutes), and my friend and I waited around, looking forward to some scrumptious pizza.
About an hour later, we noticed that we haven’t received our pizza yet, so we called to check up on it. We were told that the driver had left, so we continued to wait. Now, I live about a five minute drive from the restaurant, so when another twenty minutes had passed, we decided to call again… in ten minutes (see how patient we were?). Finally, the driver calls and can’t find the house (of course), he tells me the address where he currently is (which is VERY close, another minute of driving at the most), and I give him directions. Ten minutes later, STILL no pizza. I call to complain, and receive this response, «Okay, I’ll tell the driver to come back.» No sorry, no explanation, just a short sentence and a hang up.
Sadly, on principle, I will never order from these guys again. Clearly, they are incompetent at following simple driving directions AND at providing customer service.

We ordered again and the pizza was even better this time. The Mariachi Pizza was delicious!!! The peppered steak was flavored perfectly and the crust was so good! It was very spicy which I loved! Great pizza!
Also, they had no record of forgetting our 2-​liter and the manager wasn’t there so the employee that took our order said she couldn’t give us a discount but when the delivery guy showed up, he had a free 2-​liter for us so we’re happy.

IMHO this is the best pizza in the whole silicon valley. The dough is always fresh made from scratch, veggies and mushrooms are local grown and fresh cut. The sauce is a unique blend and there is so much meat put in there if you are meat eater. I used to work there, the owner is a really cool guy and he would be your friend if you dont mess with him lol. We always had to keep this place clean and running on fresh ingridients. Dont complain about delivery times too. If you are a crackhead who lives and ghetto and leaves no tip, dont expect to have a speedy delivery to you. Anyways enjoy the pure Italian taste! ;)

Delivery time was reasonable and the price was good. But it doesn’t matter because they got the order wrong. I asked for artichoke hearts mushrooms and sundried tomatoes and got sausage instead of tomatoes. I’m a vegetarian so I was disappointed and because I was hungry I had to pick them off since I didn’t want to wait longer. Yuck. My roomie loves it though.

its pizza. I didn’t really enjoy it. I picked it based on reviews here and trying to pick a lesser of two evils with cheaper pizza. Extremely nice people on the phone and delivering but its… take out pizza. It’s not the tastiest or the most memorable but its ok.
I cannot say its on speed dial, but if its round table or bust — I’ll take via mia.

Didnt care for it. It was dry and cold when it arrived. Kinda got that lack luster flavor of cardboard and tomatoes sauce. Eh. Not totally inedible, but I would go elsewhere.

Great pizza and one of the only delivery places in Campbell that shows up on time and never has trouble finding our house (a big plus!). Food is reasonably priced.

Are you hungover??? Did you drink one too many Long Island Ice Tea’s and AMF’s last night and wake up on a park bench in St. James Park? Or maybe you picked up a DUI or Drunk in Public and spent the night in prison talking to Paco about which prison has the most comfortable beds or the best corn meal. Well, after a night like that it’s only natural for you to get the craving for something quick, delicious, and not too pricey!
Via Mia has been that place for me when the night has kicked my ass and I need to slop down something greasy in the confines of my own home. I usually order a simple Pepporoni, Sausage, and Mushroom pizza, but on occasion when I am feeling adventurous I cross into the realm of the BBQ Chicken Pizza. WTF! Huge chunks of chicken blends perfectly with the sauted onions and sauce! I almost immediately hit up the head right after devouring a whole medium to the dome! Make sure you grab up some reinforcements in the way of an extra roll of toilet paper before engaging your porcelain enemy!
I have never eaten a pizza in New York or Italy, but I am very knowledgable about the chemisty that makes up a great pizza and Via Mia has just that! Great sauce and crust with cheese that strands down your chin upon oral entry! Via Mia is as good as it gets!

Their mushroom and garlic pizza is the BEST I’ve ever had, for that kind of pizza. ‘Never been there, just ordered delivery and then tipped very well, since they’re ALWAYS on time (if not early) and the pizza was hot every time.

ARE YOU KIDDING! THIS IS THE BEST DAMN PIZZA EVER! I have eaten pizza in NY, CHICAGO, and SF… THIS place in SAN JOSE! is fricken awesome! They use the freshest ingredients’ and the pizza is made to order. My Fav is the Via Mia Chicken, Well Done with that pizza sauce they have. I live on the South Side of San Jose and make the drive over to this Via Mia because its the best… way better then the one on Camden. I have been on the Abs Diet for 3 years now and my 1 Cheat Meal a week is the Via Mia Chicken!

I haven’t gone been to the actual restaurant but I highly recommend their pizza for delivery! Not overly greasy and the sauce is really good. It arrived promptly.

I have gone to Via Mia for over 10 years now. I have been to their other location on Camden, but the Bascom one is by far the best. Don’t get me wrong, I still like to hit up some of my other favorite pizza places on occassion, but Via Mia is in my top 3 favorite pizza places around!
