Pastelitos dulces attracted me there(my favorite section in the store) plus the 39 anniversary of this Mexican and Latin in general grocery supermarket. They organized interesting activities, mostly for Mexican audience, like banda music non stop, free food(really generous in those made in front of you tacos) with abundant toppings. There were also raffles and prizes for everyone. It was a good excuse to get to know another fantastic and full of, color and variety of products store.

Let’s TACO ’bout this Hot Deli shall we? $ 2.99 for taco super(carne asada, cheese, sour cream, lime, spicy sauce, chopped lettuce, cilantro). $ 1.59 for an horchata regular size. The horchata’s delicious and has the cinnamon flavor that’s more similar to Vietnamese/Saigon cinnamon as opposed to the American kind. If you like a creamier/thicker horchata try El Amigo’s on Santa Teresa. This 1’s more of your standard watery horchata. I like them all though. The salsa for the taco was spicy and delicious(none of that weak Taco Bell«hot sauce»). There’s no chile verde or any other meat option it seems other than the carne asada. Servers aren’t particularly happy nor attentive but the food makes up for it. Ambience is a definite«eh» since this place is located inside a grocery store. It’s rather loud and the trashcans are overfull. I felt like it could have been cleaner. I could keep talking but you probably want me to HORCHATA hell up now.

I had a Bioníco from the cremeria here & it was sooo delish! I got the strawberry yogurt with grapes, strawberries & pineapple all topped off with granola, raisins, almonds & coconut shavings… It was amazing! I’ll be back when my craving kicks in again! ;)

This grocery store is AWESOME! It’s a really good size. Lots of food, though we didn’t come here looking for food… we were on a Sombrero search. There is a goods booth setup in the front of the store(selling mini sombreros and larger ones). The lady there was extremely nice and pointed me in the right direction to find my big dressy sombrero! I would return for sure!

Craving these mango candied lollipops covered in chili powder. The boyfriend said there must be some at a Mexican store. Decent sized store. Walked down the candy aisle and TADA! 40 Dulces Vero Mango lollipops for $ 5.19. Success!!! I don’t need to stalk a random ice cream truck for one. Now I have 40! Muahahaha.

This super market has the best tortillas in town, they make it fresh and warm come from the oven. On weekend, you should call to order in advance, so you do’nt have to wait. I always get some carnitas and cook foods, bakery is also good here. Their are very comparative and fully stocked. Parking is not a problem. Good service, Spanish speaking clerks. Good job.

I find this to be a good decent sized Mexican grocery and maybe not as big as Mi Pueblo, it’s pretty well stocked. Got some great extra hot Yucatacan Habanero sauce and some Chicharron for a snack. Parking in this area is a bit crazy but if you go towards the back of the store it’s not hard to find after navigating all the traffic.

the tortilla’s here are great, they make them at the store fresh and warm. if you get there in the morning thats when they make the tortillas and you can wait for them to give you a package that has just been stacked together right before of your eyes. this store is very versatile, it is a grocery store, bakery, and deli. they always have something going on in front of the store, like music playing or an outside bbq. i notice there was an Asian lady that work there and she speaks spanish! it was amazing! i found out she also spoke chinese and vietnamese, so this place is for everyone. my personal favorite thing about tropicana is the burritos in the deli, they are huge and very very cheap. around $ 5, and its an authentic burrito too. if you havent been here you definitely should, the atmosphere is fun and the staff is very nice.

Ever since I discovered tostitos gold chips were discontinued, I’ve been in search of the best salsa chip just like the ones I get at taquerias. The brown bag mission tortilla chips, tostitos round/scoop etc don’t come anywhere near. This place had a huge bag of their own fried yellow corn chips that look exactly from taquerias. I bought it, made my salsa and tried the combination. The chips were perfect – thick, cruchy, crisp corn flavor, definitely what I imagined the triangular chip to be. And $ 3 for 1.5lb is a deal compared to the wannabes sold at any other market.

My God! The parking lot was jam packed. The secret to parking is going to the north west spot of the parking lot which ends up being near the store front anyways. I easily found a bunch of open spots when it would have been impossible to find a spot anywhere else in the parking lot. This is a pretty solid Mexican store where you can get a hold of a lot of those Mexican goods you might be looking for. They have a tiny restaurant in one corner of the store(its on the right as you walk in), I didn’t try it but I might next time I go. At the very back of the store is the meat counter where they have some prepared meats already cooked up and ready to find a home on your plate with some warm tortillas. Everything looked good except for the ribs which were a bit too charred for my liking. But what I came looking for are the Mexican sweet breads which can be found to the left as you walk in. Their selection isn’t that great but their prices are very good. Some of the sweet breads are slightly larger than what I’m used to seeing(a sign of that growing portion size in America maybe?), but the ones I got were all incredibly soft and tasted wonderfully. The service was spectacular, so friendly and the girl behind the counter almost made me feel bad that I was only taking six sweet breads home with me. I was so tempted to get more, but these were all for me! So I had to decline when I was asked if there was anything else I wanted. The downfall is that you have to go to a regular store register to pay if you’re using plastic, they only take cash at the bakery. Also, I was mildy disappointed with the selection of sweet breads, but they did have my favorites so I was happy with that. I do like a good variety however, so I would like to have seen a larger selection. As I roamed the store I did check out some of the prices and a lot of things did seem to be priced a bit high. I wouldn’t want to do my grocery shopping here, but would come just for the things that you can’t find at other supermarkets.

I was just here on 1÷25÷09 for some carnitas which are off the hook! They have a large variety of prepared meats cheeses as well as an impressive bakery. The people are are super friendly but don’t come here hungry cause there is plenty to get worked up about!

Driver’s License? This is the place! *according to my hs students* I in no way shape or form approve of selling of such documents but rumor has it you can get them from people in the parking lot… I am just going to assume it is true and move on with my review. Definitely a great place to pan, postres and tortillas. I would agree with Enrique their bolillos are bomb(short french like bagette bread) I personally prefer to get my carne at Mi Pueblo, but our Dean likes to get it here– tomato — tomatoe… potato po-tah-toe whatever works. Also a spot where radio stations such as preciosa hang out for the day :-D. Parking is a pinche pain in my a## so come prepared to battle mini vans, large trucks bumping some serious ranchero and watch out for pedestrians!
