Wow, I’m sad. We wanted this to be awesome but it was just nasty. We were looking for a good taqueria for Friday night tacos and beer. My boyfriend had been here before many moons ago and said he remembered it being good. So we ventured over. We walked in and everything was written in spanish… which was ok, we kinda expected that. We asked to sit outside and we’re told to sit wherever we wanted. About 10 minutes later the server came over to take our drink order and bring us chips. We ordered micheladas which came out 20 minutes later, along with our opportunity to put in a food order. I tried to order crispy chicken tacos and my boyfriend wanted tacos El pastor. 15 min later we got our drinks(which were the best part about this experience). About 30 min later we got our guacamole and our food. I’ve been to Mexico and I know what a taco is… I got a plate with a chicken thigh, cabbage, cheese, potatoes, tomato and other chicken parts and 4 fried corn tortillas hiding under the cabbage. It looked like i had 4 chicken spines on my plate and a leg… My boyfriend got 4 nasty corn tortillas with the most bland beans and nastiest rice ever. It’s like they microwaved his food. He is hispanic so we know good Spanish rice and this was NOT it. I make better spanish rice and im the whitest person on earth. We barely choked down a few bites and decided to bounce. Our check, for chicken tacos, tacos El pastor and 2 micheladas was $ 54… $ 54 for crappy service, bland food and the extra added fun of a guy selling bootleg dvds next to. our table. Do your stomach a favor and just keep driving. Worst mexican food we’ve ever had. I hope I don’t get food poisoning tonight.

Over 1.5 hrs wait for the food. Super slow service. Food is not impressive. First time here, and will never come back.

Great service, great atmosphere, great food! I came here on Sunday with my dad for lunch. The restaurant serves really good food. My favorite dish Enchiladas Michoacanas! Yummy! I had my choice between chicken and carne asada. I’ve never ate steak with this dish so i stuck with the original, chicken. The server then asked me what pieces i wanted, leg, wing, breast etc… I ordered the leg and breast. The chicken was cooked perfectly. The dish comes with i think about 8 enchiladas(they are smaller than regular flour enchilada’s, these are made with corn tortillas) potatoes, & chicken. The service was great. My dad had originally ordered menudo but it was too salty for his liking so he informed the server and she quickly took his alternate order which was shrimp in a very spicy sauce with rice and beans. She was very attentive and would ask if we needed more drinks etc… I would recommend this place. They also had the soccer game going with four TVs around the restaurant. Its great for large groups as its a large place. They have the bar and kitchen centralized in the middle of the place so you see all the action going on. **one thing i don’t like is there are individuals coming in walking around trying to sell you flowers. I know they are trying to making a living but keep it outside. It disturbs the customers.

The food pretty good but not good enough to wait almost an hour to get our food from the time we got there. Both the cooks and the waitresses need to light a fire under their ass and hustle! it got to the point where i got fed up and had to get out and drag a waitress over to take our order. get with the effing program for christsakes…

This was an ok experience. It took about an 30 min to get seated and served! The food wasn’t that great & prices are reasonable. They need to work on the service and ability to handle large parties.

We hit this place up for mother’s day a couple years ago. It was a nice family environment and the food was actually good(enchiladas and coctel de camaron). Last November after a Vicente Fernandez concert my wife and I decided to get some grub at this place again, to our surprise the only food they had was a taco cart outside(this was around 11pm), so we got some tacos and met some friends inside that just happen to be there. We got a table next to the banda and ordered about 6 buckets of coronas and had a real good time. A few things that were different between the two times we were there(day and night), it was more like a bar at night, there was 90% guys there at night and too many drunks looking for trouble. That being said, we have been there a few more times(in the day) to eat and would not rule out hitting it up at night sometime. The Banda was really good!

Ok, so my friends and i went here for the first time, and were a diverse group. Me, being pacific islander, 2 mexican girls, 1 black girl, and a half white and japanese girl. When we first walked in the place was pretty much crackin, granted it was already around 11pm. Lots of stares from guys and girls alike, none of us had ever been so we didnt know if we should just find a table and sit or if we waited for someone to seat us. Literally after 10 minutes we finally got a table. woo hoo. I was surprised at how quick the men were to offer us buckets of beer, so of course, we accepted. The food takes awhile to get to your table on busy nights and it’s mediocre. My reason for the 3 stars. The band gets very loud that you can forget trying to hold a conversation. Also, like some of the guys have said in previous reviews… some of the girls/women here dress like hard-core hoochies. I’m not trying to hate, but that’s the truth. So for all you fellas that want eye candy, this is the place to go to.

OMG! This is the hubby and I’s FAVORITE authentic mexican food restaurant! I go there for the enchiladas and the hubby for the molcajete and beer… to die for! The enchiladas michoacanas are tortillas dipped in red sauce with goat cheed(I think?) and tomato, avocado and lettuce on top and come with potatoes on the side and your choice of meat(carne asada or chicken) and let me tell you, these enchiladas are as good as my mom’s! The hubby’s favorite dish is the molcajete with carne asada and it actually does come in a molcajete sizzling hot red sauce with strips of carne asada and nopales! It is an awesome plate. The first time we had this dish was in Guanajuato and the one here in this place is much spicier! And then, it gets better on Friday’s! True story, so I was caught off guard one day, came home, changed into my favorite jeans and sneakers and we decided to go to this restaurant. We park the car and then see that there’s a group of 3 or 4 ladies looking like they are ready to go to the club and we were like, whatever, until we’re waiting in line behind them at the door of the restaurant and they are checking for id’s. OMG, there was a live banda… all 10 or 12 members of the banda doing their thing and it was awesome! I wish I would have dressed better, but I was loving being comfy and eating good food with the banda playing! And, if you are not too familiar with the east side then I would recommend you check it out during the week. And if you don’t mind if people kind of look at you curiously, then by all means check it out on Friday nights or the weekend to get a taste of what it would be like being in a restaurant in Mexico!

we decided to hit up a taqueria for lunch so we pulled into this mexican plaza hoping there would be some good eats. i couldnt resist this spot when walking by. this place was huuuge! and looked pretty clean too, so we had to stop in. this is a good spot for a sit-down meal. not a fast food type place. they have a cool theme. the kitchen is under this hut or shack-type thing. cool paintings throughout the restaurant. a couple of plasmas and a mini stage. the waitress was real cool and came over to take our orders real quick. we didnt have to wait long for our food. the food is about average. i wouldve given 4 stars for the cleaniness and service but the food isnt really 4 stars. only complaints were that my ham tortas came out kinda dry. i’ve had a lot better and my strawberry juice was really fresh and everything, but it had a cinnamony aftertaste. i HATE cinnamon! yea kinda whaack. never said anything about any cinnamon on the menu. but everybody elses stuff came out fine WTF. the shrimp cocktail, enchiladas, quesadilla, steak ranchero, and soup all came out nicely. no complaints about any of those items. this is a good spot to eat at with a large group cause its soo roomy. but other than that i would stick to an old school taqueria.

Sooo much fun if you go with a large group! I wish the buckets of beer were cheaper, bcuz they are $ 30 for 6. Its the same as youd pay at any club, per beer, but still… I was hoping for an eastside discount! LOL. The live banda is huge and suuuuuuper loud, but it only shocks your ears for the 1st20 minutes or so, and then youre good to go. Not much room to dance but you can if you really want to. Their tacos are bomb and cheap and their chile is deeelish! I wouldnt recommend this place if youre not an eastsider, or used to the eastside…(tropicana). Also, you should probably leave before closing when drunk guys decide to get brave. but again, if youre a true eastsider, its whatev. oh and watch out for booby trapped-potholes behind the club if you have to run out the back. LOL. Still… I cant wait to go back!!!

And I’m talking bout their Micheladas. COLD and soooo delish! The food is good too. The chips are crunchy and the salsa is always good.(well yesterday at lunch it seemed like they changed it and added Chipotle but it was still good). I’ve had their Tacos, Shrimp Fajitas(ok but I liked the grilled shrimp plate better… although the onions and bellpeppers were grilled to perfection) and the grilled Shrimp Plate. My friend always gets the Shrimp Cocktail with Octopus.(EWW for me). Foods good, open seating and great drinks!

This place is so lively and fun. Live Banda at 7:30p on Fridays. The food is excellent, the beer is cold… what more could you ask for??? Better tip well if you want good service sometimes they can be a little short staffed.
