I had really high hopes for this place, and been wanting to try it for the past couple years since I moved to the area. Sadly, so disappointed, although I think they have a lot of potential. On a Sunday afternoon, much of the parking was filled with people at the sports bar next door and Chuck E Cheese, so it took a couple of circles until I got a parking spot. Three cheerful young employees were making the sandwiches. I am assuming that this is a very family run business, which I like. I ordered the Italian on dutch crunch and was super excited to see Taco Works chips as it’s very nostalgic of my childhood. Prices here are very reasonable for sandwiches and chips too. However, when I got home, the bread was unbelievably dry and stale. I am going to guess it was at least several days old as I felt like I was eating cardboard. I would’ve toasted it but with mayo on one side and mustard on the other, I was too lazy to. Meats and veggies were fine, although with the bread ratio, it was a bit bland. If they had fresh bread or toasted it, this would’ve been a killer sandwich, but sadly, I was majorly disappointed with this sandwich. Although some might argue the sandwich fillings are more important, from the carb whore I am, the bread can make that much of a difference to an incredible sandwich. Although Subway is my least favorite sandwich place, at least the fresh baked bread is edible, with yoga mat chemicals and all. My honest advice to the owners would be try your bread each day and see if you would want to eat that yourself before selling it to your customers.

Once i saw the MICROWAVE I should have turned and walked right back out of this place. I felt stupid once I ordered my sandwich and paid for it. I ordered the eggplant Milano and it was not good. The eggplant was dark brown and a squishy mess. It was covered in old oil and looked like it was sitting in the back for a while. The only good thing about this place is that it uses decent bread. Then once I paid I noticed that the price on the menu said 6.25, but she charged me 7.00. What the hell was that? 6.25 plus Tax isn’t 7.00! What do thy do here, round up to the next even number? It’s only a few cents, but come on. That’s just ridiculous. And it’s illegal. The two women working were a little slow, but friendly enough. The man in the back, however, looked like he hated life. He was even rude to the lady at the cash register! I like to support local business, but this place needs to go down.

I cannot say enough about the Sandwich Mill. I order at minimum three times a week from the Sandwich Mill. Once you have eaten their roasted turkey sandwich, you cannot eat regular turkey sandwiches. I am totally addicted. When you order this sandwich be sure and request cranberry sauce on the side. My husband loves their hot roast beef sandwiches. The meat is so tender and flavorful. Their minestrone soup is just like soup an Italian Nana would make. Once you have eaten at Sandwich Mill, you will never go to Togo’s or any other franchise sandwich shop again. No other sandwich shop can compare to the Sandwich Mill. It is like going back to your grandmother’s home for lunch. They use quality ingredients and roast their own roast beef and turkeys. Their soups, meatballs, and sauces are prepared in-house. Their meatballs are amazing. They are so tender and flavorful. Their salads are really good. I have always been pleased with anything I have ordered from Sandwich Mill. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Descend sandwiches I ordered couple of times via door dash, sometimes they forget the extra side and I wished they used fresher bread. The bread is too chewy but overall might try again.

I had high hopes for this place with all the highly rated reviews and the 4-star rating… only to be extremely let down. Yes, I know, I should’ve stuck with ordering a sandwich, but with the high rates, I expected ALL the food to be good. Wrong… wrong…wrong. I ordered the«home-style spaghetti and meatballs». Let’s just say… I’m still hungry. To top things off, my spaghetti was microwaved… as well as my garlic bread(which then turned rock hard once I was able to sit down and eat it). Meatballs were almost black… and everything was just super bland. Tasted like the crap you get in the jars… Prego-style. Super disappointed… and kind of grossed out, especially with the side salad of super limp and browning lettuce shreds. I’m really hoping the spaghetti wasn’t super old. o_O I don’t think I’m coming back.

Thank you SMill!!! Fabulous lasagna! After a very hectic week, I decided I couldn’t make two dishes of lasagna. You were able to take my order on short notice, and the party loved it(veggie & a meat dish). You even helped me to the car with the trays! Thank you.

Standard deli sandwiches with huge portion sizes. I got the turkey avocado with cheese on Dutch crunch. They didn’t skimp on any of the ingredients and the bread was decent. Nothing to really set this place apart from other delis, but will definitely satisfy a sandwich craving!

This gem of a place is one of my new favorite sandwich shops! I went to Bills Café for some late breakfast and the line of course was ridiculous, so we looked outside and saw the sign«lasagna» so why not check it out!!! Go in and realized it’s a small deli! We tried the ravioli, egg salad sandwich with bacon on sourdough and a meatball sandwich on a soft plain roll. Everything we had was absolutely fantastic.

Very yum! I got the vegetarian plate and my friend got the Italian Sammie. I loved the hummus but if I had more tahini sauce I would have enjoyed the falafel balls more. The Sammie was amazing though… best sandwhich I have had in a long time.

The food is great. It is. I just wish I could actually eat here again. The problem(and I’ve witnessed this multiple times) is that the nice people who make your sandwiches by hand are the same people who handle the money, touch the cash register, touch the phone etc, then they will then go and make your sandwich without washing their hands or wearing food prep gloves. Instead they squirt a little bit of anti bacterial gel into their hands and start handling the ingredients for the next order. C’mon, that’s not right. First, it’s not nearly as effective, I don’t really want to eat even trace remnants of that gel, and it’s simply disgusting. Damn, I crave their fresh roasted turkey sandwich though! Owners: please start using gloves and I will return in a heartbeat and update this review. Please.

This is nothing like togos, that review saying this place is like them is wrong and insulting to this deli. The food here is good and exactly what you would expect from a deli sandwich. Togos is garbage, the sandwich here is worth eating and worth 10 times any togos mess. I will definitely be back for another!

So hard to find a good lunch spot in Almaden Valley near Redmond and Almaden. Was stoked to find this place. My sandwich was awesome… best bacon I’ve ever had on a club sandwich in my life. They also have a few non sandwich meal options. Best sandwich spot I’ve been to in this part of SJ.

This place has great sandwiches. My friend described it as, «a better togos» and I would have to agree. The sandwich mill is a mom and pop type diner which offers hot and cold sandwiches, pasta, and a variety of sides. My friend and I got a large pastrami and a large chicken club(we each had half) along with a bag of chips and a drink. We each paid around $ 13 so it is a bit on the pricey side for sandwiches. Still, both sandwiches were on par, if not better, than what you’d expect from togos. The pastrami was really good and they give a lot of bacon on the chicken club! If you’re in the area and want to support locally owned small businesses I highly recommend the sandwich mill.

I am typically very picky about sandwich places so I generally visit 3 times and order a different sandwich every time before I drop a Unilocal review. Well, I have been here 3 times and I have to say that this place is a 5 star on my list of sando joints. I like the option of bread or wrap and the customizations seem boundless. Haven’t tried the spaghetti as of yet, but as for sandwiches, this is definitely a certain lunch stop for me. Not much more I can say except keep up the great work you guys!

Great place for a quick picnic style lunch! Even though it is a little hole in the wall i would go out of my way to visit again. We had the italian combination and the hot pastrami with the works. It is worthwhile to mention that they have large portions; the small sandwich was more than enough food for one person. The bread was very fresh, the sandwiches were filed with healthy portions of meat and cheese, and they had plenty of flavor with the works on them. Two sandwiches, chips and some drinks made for a very delicious and affordable lunch! Definitely stop by if you are craving a sandwich! Though you may also become addicted!

I grew up with this place just being a couple blocks from my house. It’s a cute little family owned shop with friendly staff. The only thing I remember eating as a child was their lasagna and that was delicious ! I need to come back here ASAP!

I LOVETHEIRITALIANSUB. The craving I’ve had for years looking for a great italian sub found itself sated at the Sandwich mill. The place is in a dive-y looking shopping plaza but don’t be fooled by the outside, because inside the sandwiches are to die for. When I ask the fam, «anyone want the good sandwiches?» They unanimously and simultaneously say, «YES!» We all have our favorites and their side salads(macaroni, potato) rock. They also have great cookies. The secret is the fresh ingredients, and, of course, the bread.

We are definitely regulars here! The Mill is down the street from where I work, so when lunchtime rolls around and we can’t decide what to get, we can’t go wrong with some bomb sandwiches. From the outside, it does look like a store in a little run down strip. Don’t let that deter you from coming inside. The owners are so nice and friendly. I especially love going to a mom and pop shop, you can tell this is what they love to do! The only downside is that it get REALLY busy and there’s usually only two people working, so you might have to stand in line for a while. I love their deli turkey with fresh avocados and cheese. They give you so many options to customize your sandwich like bread /cheese choice, and whatever fixin’s you want. I can barely finish a small($ 6), and a large($ 8) is easily two meals!
