This place is fun if you want to step back in time to 1991. In about 10 years the décor will be truly vintage, but for now it just looks old, but in a good way that I can appreciate. The staff are super warm and friendly. As for the food, it’s just okay, your typical low-end diner fare. Bottom line: this is neighborhood diner that makes sense to visit if you live nearby, but not worth making a special trip for.

My first time here. Great service. Food was prepared well, came hot and fresh. It was very busy but received food in reasonable time.

Staring off just by looking at the menu all the food is overpriced. When I sat down I ordered an orange juice and good something really tart and somewhat bitter. Aside from that the cups the serve the drinks in are really .no. Very small. It would be nice to not have to ask for a refill every 5 minutes from how little they give me in the first place. I ordered a ham omelet for breakfast when you order an omelet you have your choice of three sides 3 buttermilk pancakes, hash browns, or toast. I opted for the hash browns, Which made me mad because for the price I feel like the hash browns should be included with the omelet. I already had low expectations for the food yet when my food came I was instantly disappointed. The omelet was burnt on the outside and on the inside was cold and undercooked. The ham was fair bust still was nasty in the runny egg. And what really ruined it for me was the«hash browns» if you could call it that. Instead of hash browns I got what seemed as steamed chopped pieces of potato the was put on a stove with union. Putting hash browns on the menu is false advertising. All in all I feel no desire to ever come here again. And I would not recommend it.

I am a big fan… at least kids are. The place is furnished like the 70s but the service fast. The staff is also nice and not a lot of turnover. It is not as rushed and busy as other places and there is ample seating.

I’ve made such a regretful decision coming to this place and its so unfortunate I can’t get my money back. Like most places on Saturday mornings, your favorite breakfast/brunch restaurant is going to be packed with a lot of hungry people. Instead of waiting for my favorite spot, I came here due to limited time. And boy was it disappointing. I ordered Ham and Eggs with three pancakes and not only was the dish overpriced and the portions were insignificantly small, it was awful. The pancakes, supposedly being the ‘original’ pancakes house, has not improved since their creation or even tasted close to decent. The eggs were so small, it made quail eggs look gigantic. The ham was probably the«best» thing on the plate tasting slightly decent but for $ 10, I could have made this in the comfort of my own home with ease. Honestly, I would not recommend anyone to dine here. A major change is needed if they want to stay in business.

I have mixed feelings about this place. We have been here off and on for the last 3ish years… Mostly for convenience and laziness on Sunday mornings when nothing else sounds good, like our default spot. Honestly there is nothing really special about this place and the service is without question hit or miss. Some days we get a nice server that renews our faith in the place… But the following trip is pretty horrible. It’s a vicious cycle really. So the few food options I see others review… Potato pancakes… I liked them, but they serve way to many and a side to satisfy my craving was an entire plate aka meal for two days. I’m officially sick of them after that. Dutch baby… Yea it’s damn good, but it doesn’t come with anything. It’s very filling, but a scrambled egg would be nice with it…(My man on the other hand is completely unimpressed) Pancakes… Ok I guess, no wow factor. They do offer every possible topping imaginable, so for some that’s a plus. Once again, you only get the pancakes no sides… My thing is… I like a meal. Not a giant item by itself. French toast is the same… If you want eggs and bacon for example… You must order everything ala cart. That’s a detouring factor for me, I’d rather hit up IHOP. So anyways, food is decent, setup is super old and outdated. Most of the time your seated facing a strangers table. It’s like breakfast with people you don’t know and the entire time your trying not to make eye contact. Service is hit or miss… but it always serves its purpose. 3 stars is fair from our experiences over the years.

I have been eating Dutch babys for the last 21 years. The first time I had a Dutch baby was at their San Diego location, I remember when they opened this location I was super excited. The Dutch baby is very eggy and has been pretty consistent at all locations. As of late I struggle between the 49ners and the Dutch,(as does my dad) however my boyfriend thinks the 49ners are just OK — if you love crêpe style pancakes they are amazing. Regardless of what you order to eat, order a side of the hashbrowns — well done, and save room because they are delicious.(Sautéed onions and potato chunks) The apple pancake is extremely sweet, I don’t know if I’d order it for breakfast but we usually share it as a desert for after — it is very delicious and probably their best pancake. My brother has gotten the chocolate pancakes his whole life — solid choice if you like that style/type. Orange juice is fresh and very good. I would probably give this location 4.5 if I could but definitely closer to 5 than to 4.

By far the most disgusting banana pancakes I’ve ever tasted in my life I think If I had them tested they had chemicals in them they definitely did not use any fresh bananas or any fresh ingredients for that matter it was awful you could not pay me $ 200 to eat those pancakes… Their false advertisement is what tricked me into getting the order it says freshly diced bananas hahahahahahahaha what a joke. I took one bite and not another, don’t you think the waiter should have asked if there was something wrong with my order that is not the case here they only wanted money and nothing else.

I don’t get the rave about the Dutch pancake. 11 to 12 dollars for bread. Smh. 2 Eggs over medium, good 4 sausage links, good Hash browns, ok Steak n eggs, ok Dutch pancake, ok Coffee, ok 40 dollars n some change Service was fast Service was OK Tables inside n out. Plenty of parking Waiter put down the check as soon as she brought the food. Jelly, hotsauce, and ketchup are not on the table. I had some cash on the table n the waiter snatched it up like someone was gonna steal it. I will never come back. IHOP has better service. Food is just as good at a cheaper cost. If your food ain’t slamming your service should be. Cook your own breakfast for a fourth of the cost. My lazy a**.

Just ok. I got the eggs Benedict with four buttermilk pancakes. The plate was empty looking, maybe they should have added a couple pieces of fruit or another egg. The hollandaise tasted Lemony which I liked, the pancakes were light and fluffy but tasted sour. I tasted the mushroom omelette which tasted like the eggs were a little burnt. The coffee was good as well as the service.

The food is good but I felt that it was overpriced. I like variety in my breakfast plate and if I am going out for breakfast it isn’t to watch my portions. For $ 10.99 I ordered the eggs and bacon with a half order of french toast. There was 4 strips of bacon, 3 scrambled eggs, and two halves of french toast. I felt like I should’ve just gone to Carrows and paid the same for an addition of hashbrowns and toast. I also wanted to order their Apple Pancake but that was $ 11.99 and I didn’t feel like paying that much for only ONE pancake. And thats how all their specialty pancakes are. You just get one. Same for their crepes $ 11.99 for UN crêpe. I like variety for breakfast and this place does not offer that. I thought«hey maybe I can just order a side of hash or whatever I think is missing» but it was $ 1.99 for a sliced banana and $ 2.39 for one egg on the side. If you do decide to come here, I recommend ordering their omelets because those are HUGE. Another thing I did appreciate from this restaurant is that most of their seating are booths and it’s all really old school which was cool.

Went here for the Dutch baby! It was so good! It tasted like the Filipino rice cake called puto. It had a good amount of sweetness. I only added a quarter of the butter given and a little bit of powder sugar and syrup. We also shared the Swedish pancakes which is one of my ultimate favorites! It was delicious, but the Dutch baby is the ultimate winner. However my boyfriend got the grilled chicken sandwich on Dutch crunch bread. It looked amazing, but when he started eating it, he was taking out the mushrooms and next to the tomato was a hair. A curly hair. the waitress was kind enough to offer a new sandwich, but he was grossed out. She was nice enough to take it off the tab and only charged me for the pancakes. A good place, but I would only order the pancakes? Just be careful!

Came here for breakfast, and left massively disappointed. Extremely overpriced for the amount you get. I ordered the bacon and eggs with 3 pancakes. As the server was bringing our food, I saw how huge the plates were, but once she put them down, and I saw what was on them, it was a let down. 4 strips of bacon were the highlight as they were pretty big and thick(don’t be a pervert), but the eggs were just your average portion size and the pancakes were really small. Speaking of the huge plate, the food took up less than half the space. In terms of taste, it was average at best. Your typical diner fair, and definitely didn’t justify the price. My meal was around $ 11 before tax, but it should’ve been more like $ 7. Won’t be returning as there are far better options out there.

Very over priced the looks from the outside are very deceiving. When you walk in looks very run down. For two eggs $ 3.893sausage links(links where small) $ 5.49 Small glass of OJ4.39 When you feel lazy and you don’t feel like cooking just think how much money you would have saved cooking at home. I would not be returning here I would rather go to Denny’s

Considering I’m not a fan of breakfast foods, this place was good since I went with my sister that knew exactly what was good at the original pancake house. Pros Dutch Baby Pancake: It’s a gigantic egg soufflé type of pancake that is really moist inside. It’s served with lemon and some powdered sugar. Be warn that this dish does take longer for the kitchen to prep and cook. Potato Pancakes: These were really good paired with corn beef hash since the potato pancakes are more starchier and savory. Cons: Omelets: Based on the other Unilocalers reviews, I can agree that you should skip their omelets. I ordered the bacon omelet and it was literally stuff with only cheese while the omelet had a rubbery taste.

I came her with my auntie, she loves the original house of pancakes! I also like it too because it’s a huge chain restaurant like most, it’s a cozy sit down. I had their pecan waffle and it was not a large portion which I like, was tasty, light and filling. My auntie had their known pancake which looks like a big bowl!
