To this day, I still remember my visit to this restaurant. There are not many memorable visits to eateries at an airport but this certainly was one. My only qualm is that it’s a bit of a wait as it seems to be a very busy spot for regular business travelers. You almost forget that you are in an airport. The food comes out quickly and they were great with veganizing options for me.

Hands down the best food I have ever had in an airport! Dodi, our sushi chef, was fantastic and cut the fish right in front of us. So great! We had salmon sushi(fresh cut before our eyes), California roll, Special roll(crab, shrimp tempura with spicy tuna on top). We also ordered gyoza, edamame, and a bowl of rice. We really enjoyed our food and the chef was great!

Stopped here for a quick roll on my way to Chilé. Wasn’t expecting anything too spectacular, but here’s the thing… I’m a recovering alcoholic and let’s just say when you start me up the engine doesn’t stop revving. Hand daddy a beer and a piece of dog DOODOO tastes like filet mignon. The avocado cucumber roll was a blast, but in a boring way. Spicy tuna(the classic«I remember my first time dabbling in raw fish, but wanna play it safe» roll) had me like«dammmmmn» but then my stomach was all«can u not?“BUT eating isn’t all about the stomach. In fact most of your digestive tract is the intestines! To make a long story short, if you’re looking for sushi, this is the only place in the airport with it.

Crazy roll is very good. Good portion. Reasonably priced for what you get compared to other good sushi restaurant outside of the airport. Frankly I’m glad to have a healthier option to eat compared with what is normally available at the airport.

Before leaving California on my way back to Florida and inadvertently setting the pace for seafood for the week, I decided to grab lunch at Sora before my flight. I wasn’t really expecting much from an airport sushi restaurant, but the menu was surprisingly full, if a bit pricey. Ended up getting a Rock and Roll and a Hamachi roll. The fish tasted fresh and it was enjoyable. I tried to stay away from the combos as the prices — while under $ 20 — still aren’t exactly what you would expect. Regardless I still dropped close to $ 20 on the two rolls, but left full. The service was a bit spotty. There seemed to be a sushi chef and a hostess, but it felt like neither could be in sight at the same time.

Disappointing vegetarian rolls. Not sure if they’re just miserly or just don’t know how to create a decent roll.

So far as airport sushi goes, this is a better than average experience. Fish was fresh, generous cuts, and decent variation of sushi, sashimi and other entrees given where its located.

Seriously, think again. Don’t go here! Okay so the wait staff is truly awful. Want to check if I’m telling the truth? Walk in and see if they even look up. There are several people there, a girl running the cash who doesn’t know what she’s doing – another guy had to check us out when I went to the cash register to pay after giving up waiting for our bill. Another guy is the sushi chef, and also doesn’t know what he’s doing – our sashimi was just big hunks of randomly cut tuna. Made me worry so we gave up eating it and abandoned the meal even though we’d paid for it. Seriously, you don’t want to take chances with Sushi. The«waiter» took people in order he ran into them so several tables that arrived after us got their orders in first(he took about 10 or 15 minutes to walk over to our table, and it was about 30 before we got food). He forgot several things, including our Sake. He never came by to give us the bill. Seriously, don’t eat here.

Love me some chucka salad to take on the plane! Truth is, this is the only thing I have ordered here but I love it and it is carry out so I can easily take it on the plane for a not so fat option! Price is reasonable and nice people behind the counter. Give it a try.

Great lil sushi place in sjc when waiting for a flight. Most economical big meal option would be combining two cheap rolls like salmon and avocado. Emeric was a nice sushi chef as well — kept the place open late for late travelers.

Holy macaroni were they overwhelmed by a line of 10 people! Very odd there was no grab no go so it was about a 10 minute turnaround for orders. That being said it was pretty good stuff. Yellowtail cuts were fairly poor quality but salmon and tuna were top notch.

The food was decent. The wait was unreasonable. I ordered the miso soup, which was decent. The tofu pieces were pretty big and the seaweed wasn’t properly prepared. Over all the flavor was fine. I also order the California Roll(standard fare) and it was quite bland. The wait for my two items was roughly 45 minutes, which is an unreasonable wait for an airport eatery.

Got off from a plane flew in from New England, wanted something that Cali reminds me of and stopped in at this place. For a joint inside an airport terminal, I think the price is good and selection understandably small. I had 5-piece sake sashimi and yellowtail tuna(hamachi) roll with green onions. The portions are good but I wished they would serve a bowl of rice with their sashimi to make it more fulling. The biggest surprise was their pickled ginger. I usually never finish them, but Sora’s ginger is especially refreshing. Between fast food restaurants and bar style restaurants in your regular airport terminal scene, this is the choice I prefer. If you have time between flights, and like to enjoy a great view(with Southwest airplanes pulling in and out, plus majestic silicon valley mountains as back drop), you might want to take a breather here.

I’ve eaten at very many sushi restaurants in my lifetime and this place exceeds my expectations for an airport sushi restaurant. The selection of fish is limited to Maguro(tuna), Sake(salmon), and Hamachi(yellow tail) but they have many of the other traditional options such as Unagi, Tomago, Ebi, and Tobiko. Even though there are only two sushi restaurants in the airport, the other being Sushi Boat, I can easily say that Sora is the best of the two Japanese restaurants. As for the food, I stuck to the sushi rolls because they are worth the airport premium price. It’s usually a two-person ran restaurant but the chef’s and wait staff are very friendly and tentative to your every needs. I usually order a Rainbow Roll and Spicy Tuna Roll here but if you’re the only person there, you can usually ask the chef to make something special from their creative selection of off menu items. Pros: Relatively great food and choices with a friendly staff. Skilled sushi chefs. Great view of the tarmac and Silicon Valley mountains from any of the seats. Cons: Packed during lunch and dinner rushes. No TV or music. Limited to Beer and Sake for alcohol. Possible long wait if there are a lot of people. Airport premium prices, but that’s all over the airport anyways. Overall: It’s hard to be a regular when dinning in an airport, but if you travel in and out of San Jose a lot and you’ve eaten here once, chances are you will most likely come back for seconds, thirds, …

Needed a light meal before a flight and Sora hit the spot. Great food and friendly staff. They went out of their way for me, when I left my notebook on the table. A couple of days later I realized it was gone, called them, they had held onto it and mailed it to me the next day. Earned my respect for their service.

Thank goodness for SORA… Craved sushi before flying off to LA. The menu is limited but if your craving for sushi or sashimi while waiting at the airport, this place is here for ya. I give this a star for convenience, another star for the staff as they were super friendly, and third star just because they got my complicated order right :) Other than that, ehh, i’ve experienced better sushi joints…

We ate at airport and the food is delicious. We order eel, yellow tail, spicy salmon and beef. We like yellow tail most. It’s so tender. I didn’t like pot sticker. It’s deep fried. But my coworkers like it. The only thing I didn’t like is the price. Two sushi and one appetizer costed me $ 30 for lunch.

Two thumbs up for this place! The place has a great selection of sushi and most of their ingredients are flown in from Japan! The fish is fresh! The wait staff — Tina, and the chef — Sylvester, are SUPERNICE! They made it a pleasurable experience. My favorites are the tempura sushi(deep fried sushi — YUM), the hamachi nigiri(fresh fish from Japan), spicy tuna rolls, and the negihama hamachi rolls(hamachi with green onions). Amost everything here is delish! The prices are pretty high, but I believe it is worth the price because of the quality and great service!

I ate here while waiting for my airplane back home. I had a couple of rolls and a few pieces of nigiri sushi. It was rather expensive, but in an airport that is no surprise. The menu is suprisingly limited, with only a handful of nigiri sushi choices and a modest list of rolls. On top of that, they were out of fresh salmon. What really got me was that the sushi rice was pretty bad. It was too firm and cold(bordering on hard), like it was made the day before and they could not bear to throw it away. Unfortunately, that pretty much killed the enjoyment of everything I ordered. In hindsight, maybe I should have complained, but I was exhausted from my 6-day business trip and just choked it down. Given the cost, selection, and quality, I am not sure I would try it again, but maybe.
