Writing this review a bit late, but it was time to go shopping for glasses again and the wive said«Hell No «after the way they treated us last time !! The sales people are all so nice for the sales, but afterwards it took forever for them to call us to pick up the glasses, then we find out they messed them up, we called and they said no that was correct, so we drove over and showed them, yea tell us now it’s correct… OK now 2 to 4 weeks later we get the glasses. PASS You can do better somewhere else

My dog chewed up my glasses so I was pretty much blind for a few days. I called the store and Ilian was able to help me get a new pair asap. I really appreciate the help and recommend anyone thinking of getting glasses or anything involving eyes!

I did not love my experience here. The atmosphere wasn’t particularly friendly. I was asked to pay before I’d even had an exam, I thought that was weird. The selection of frames did not provide the variety I expected. Overall, not impressed.

They have the BEST service I have ever seen. They were so helpful and we were helped immediately. They had cool music and we had a lot of fun while we were there. A very big selection of glasses made me feel a lot better about looking for glasses here. Joelette was the most helpful person there give her a raise!

I have a been going to Site for Sore Eyes for years. I highly recommend this location. Joelett, the manger is awesome and very helpful. Glasses were ordered in the morning and I was able to pick them up in the afternoon.(lens and frames). Will be definitely going back to this location.

Great atmosphere, great service I was greeted ask if I had an appointment and then seated. Fill out paper work and off to my exam. The Doctor was great and so was the rest of the staff. A+ for me.

I took full advantage of their buy 1 frames for half off and second for free. i love them both. the eye doctor was very fast with his exam so i was in and out. and personally i like that… THANKYOUAGAINSITEFORSOREEYES!

Horrible. I paid over $ 1000. For a pair get one free with a voucher from Amazon. When the 2nd pair came in with a significant gap between the top of the lense and the frame top, the man? anger tried to tell me it was the new style! What a lie! Frames are not current either. Generally my glasses are over $ 400. I know my prescription needs to be ordered with the slim lense. Everywhere else, especially Evergreen Opt. Can get it ordered. These people told me they weren’t able to make it ang thinner. Again, not Trure! The new prescription was off too. Fine for distance but not strong enough for close up. I had to come back to have my else dialited too since they have a traveling doctor who is there only 2 days a week, one of them Wed. I went on Sat., huge crowds in the story rd. Branch. Do not use this place!

Folks in front area are great — One of the doctors(can’t remember her name) was horrible. She dilated my eyes without telling me I wouldn’t be able to see — she kept talking to me like if I was bothering her and making her go out of her way to do her job. Horrible experience with the doctor — just horrible — I even ripped up the referral she gave me to another place to do a special test — I don’t want to be associated with anyone that she is aligned with.

As with several others I was a bit taken aback by the apparent price of the exam and glasses. Despite the promotion that had been the core of their business(and which practically dominates their website) of 50% off the first pair with a second pair free. Not a single staff member mentioned this in any fashion during my first visit in almost a decade. Needless to say I left the store very disappointed. I decided to call to speak with the manager about this disconnect between their posted specials and the fact that the sales staff either does not know about the ad — a practical impossibility given how long they have been advertising these terms — or they are instructed to steer customers away from this pricing. I will say that my persistence was rewarded and ultimately I did get new specs, more than one pair, because the manager, Iliana, was very personable and helpful. There were a couple of minor issues that were largely due to my lack of optometric needs prior to now. Aside from the fact that there still appears to be a disconnect between the advertising/website & in-store approach, and(as with most chain stores dealing in optometrics) the floor prices appear marked up in anticipation of mark-down at sale time. Also, I am still not clear on whether the discount ‘coupon’ applies to all frames or just a subset. However, as mentioned, they worked with me to find the best solution at a very reasonable price. Iliana, the manager of the Thornwood store, was genuinely concerned and helpful to the extent that I knew I would not get better service for the price from just about any place, be it a big-box«superstore» or neighborhood optometric specialty store. The personal touch and care that I received puts this store at four stars in my book.

I was very pleased with this location. My daughter and I both got the buy one-get one(free frames) offer and walked out with 4 pair of glasses for just over $ 900 including the exam for her(mine was covered by insurance). On the second pair we opted for the bare basics to use them for back up only. But that’s about $ 450 each and I feel very good about that price and the frames selection(there are some much more expensive frames than the ones we chose but I got Guess for under $ 200 so there are many options). The Dr. and the assistant were very nice and helpful. And I LOVE my glasses. No complaints here.

I just moved to San Jose and needed a new optometrist so tried this place out. PROS: — The optometrist is very nice, knowledgeable, and helpful. I developed an allergy to the contact lens I was prescribed so I went in to speak with the optometrist. She was very helpful and gave me a week’s worth free trial of a different brand. When those weren’t working as well, she gave me another 2 weeks free trial of a different brand. CONS: — The saleswomen. If you ever call in and get«Rose» hang up and try again. I spent 7 minutes on the phone with her asking her if the optometrist was in because I needed to see her as I was having an issue with my contact lens. Rose put me on hold, came back and said, «ok so what lens do you want to order». I told Rose I don’t want to order any lens, I needed to see the optometrist to talk to her about an allergic reaction I was having and if I could get a prescription for a different brand. Rose says, «ok. so you have a prescription. how many boxes do you need?». WTH! I finally got fed up and hung up. Overall, if the optometrist was working in a different store I’d go and see her, but I won’t be going back to this place next year for my yearly eye check-up.

This was my first time at an glasses place. I was excited to see a pretty good selection of frames to choose from. What I wasn’t excited to see was the price tag… I knew that they were gonna be pricy, but the price for just the frame was outrageous. then on top they try to sucker you on the lenses. I don’t see how the things making you see better cost way less than the piece of plastic/metal holding them in place. I also looked at some sunglasses, and I already knew the NORMAL retail price… This place was trying to sell them for double. I kind of chuckled in my head when I first heard the price. In the end, I gave 3 stars because I do not have much else to go off of, but I was not happy having to buy my first pair of glasses, not really knowing what they could potentially cost.

Either Groupon/Livingsocial enabled false advertisement or empowered bad optometrists and franchises like Site for Sore Eyes to stay in business. Save your groupon, livingsocial, and money. Minimum spend for a frame(no lens) is $ 189. Add the lens and you’re at $ 400+. After $ 150 Groupon/Livingsocial, you’re out of pocket $ 300 min. Paid $ 59 for an eye exam. Doc was very rushed and inpatient. Not personable at all and comes off very stand-offish. She spoke with irritation and even rolled her eyes at times. I don’t expect her to be my friend. But, I do expect her to be considerate enough to understand my elderly mother and be patient enough for me to translate. Not ideal for seniors or people w/language barriers. Go to Costco. it’s more competitive. Exams are only $ 49 and the people are nicer. Plus, there’s corporate responsibility unlike Site for Sore Eyes.

So, lets talk about how I’ve been here three times this week! I’m a little in love with the fact that I can come into this spot, day after day, and be super picky about what frame I want to fit my face. The beautiful ladies who work here are super helpful; some more than others, but overall they sort of rock my socks. Boys… there are also some very beautiful lady’s here… Lol! None the less, I sincerely appreciate the help that the girls have given me here. I appreciate every ounce of criticism as I try to find the best frame. Anh was my Dr. and she was super quick about my eye exam. Now… I don’t know if she’s just«that good», or if she was just in a hurry to go home! I’ll have to follow up after I pick up my glasses on Sat. Wish me luck!

This place is terrible! I bought a Groupon to use at Site for Sore Eyes because it seemed like a great deal. I ended up walking out and never using the Groupon. I realized once I was there that I had wasted my money. During my eye appointment, the woman checking my eyes was obviously so hungry I started to worry that she might not be able to focus on checking my eyes. Her stomach was growling so loud my three year old sitting in the room even asked about it. At the end of the checkup, she tries to tell me that I need to buy TWO pairs of glasses. I somehow went from having great vision(just wearing light computer glasses occasionally for fatigue) before I stepped in there to somehow needing to buy two pairs of glasses from them. She put the sets of lenses in front of my eyes to show me my two new supposedly needed prescriptions. Absolutely NOTHING looked different. Once my eye appointment was done, I started looking at their selection of glasses and that’s when I started wishing you could get refunds on Groupons. This place has the worst selection of frames I’ve ever seen. I thought maybe it was just this location, so I tried visiting one of their other locations. The other location was even worse. If you see another deal for this store, steer clear of it! Total waste of time and money.
