WARNING! I used to go to this restaurant 2 to 3 times a week using my credit card. I never watched my charges from this place but there was a three-month period where I had left my credit card at home while I was traveling in Europe for three months. In Europe after about 2 ½ months I noticed there was a single charge on my credit card which was extremely odd since I was not in the United States. Oddly enough there was an eight dollar charge for a purchase at this establishment! I called up my bank and reported the incident I don’t know the exact research they did but they told me that the restaurant had admitted to making a ‘mistake’. This transaction seemed extremely suspicious to me, first of all how could they have made a charge when they were not in possession of my credit card? Why would they have made this charge months after the last time I had visited the establishment? It got me thinking that if this was done to customers who typically go there on a very frequent basis like myself that it would go completely unnoticed for the most part. Because of this I feel compelled to warn other patrons of this behavior since there is no logical explanation for it other then something unscrupulous.

My co-worker and I split a carne asada burrito and an al pastor burrito. The al pastor is under the specialty burritos section on their menu and is a little pricier. I preferred the al pastor to the carne asada. It had more sauce or something because it was saucier and the pork was juicier than the beef. Also came with some chips. And they have a salsa bar to grab all the salsa to your heart’s content. Meal was good and it’s a quick lunch.

This used to be a great alternative to the Chipotle on 1st, with a more ‘home-made’ feel to the food. But now every time I come in the naked burrito is smaller and smaller. I’m all for tightening my belt, but they’re giving out ridiculous meat portions now. Pretty soon they’re gonna be scooping it with a tea spoon. No reason to pay more(yes, more!) here than Chipotle anymore.

It’s not simple ordering from here. You tell the server what you want — you get something else. You take it back up to the front, re-explain yourself & guess what? You get something completely different again! OMG. this place was terrible with regards to ordering. I will say the burrito I ordered was ok, sorta bland though. The rice was hard; I wonder if I got the bottom of the bowl. Why can’t it be simple like hiring someone who speaks and understands English? I’m really getting frustrated with these types of incidents. It takes up too much of my lunch hour & makes for a really sucky afternoon at work. Find somewhere else if you can unless of course, you speak Spanish.

A bit on the fast food side but they crank out quality food or they would never handle the lines.

I have worked in this business park now for about 9 years and I love to go and get a breakfast burrito but sometimes I wish they would have the beans ready in the morning I like to order a bean bacon and egg burrito it’s a change from the standard burrito for breakfast which is full of potatoes eggs and which ever meat you choose I like the chorizo burrito too but would love to have the beans ready so I didn’t have to wait till 8:30a to get that since I start at 6:30a. The garlic salsa verde is one of the best I like mixing the two they have.

Good lunch option if you want a quick bite and want a hot burrito. The namesake burrito is quite good and loaded and the naked burrito(to go) is quite a big meal as well. The other stuff is pretty average but I’m rating this as a way to get a quick, hot lunch and the aforementioned items are quite good. The salsa bar is in a pretty inconvenient location but be sure to try the blended pico salsa as it has quite a bit of kick.(Also, do try to avoid the 11:45 — 12:45 crowd as your burrito won’t be as hot/well made)

This is my first time visiting here. Should have heeded other reviews. I got the Camaron al mojo de ajo, which is essentially a garlic shrimp dish, that is very traditional and usually hard to find in Mexican restaurants, especially take out places like this one. The shrimp is served on a bed of lettuce with tomato on the side, with red rice and your choice of beans. One giant flour tortilla and some chips side the dish. All sounds good right? Well the idea is nice, execution, not so much. Let’s start with the shrimp. A good version of this dish uses whole jumbo shrimp that are cooked and then partially peeled before being sautéed with the the seasonings. It’s served in a wonderful bath of oil, Chile, and loads of garlic. Here, they start with a package of pre-peeled frozen tiny shrimp and toss about 8 of them on the flat top. They then throw some salt on top and some prepared garlic powder seasoning mixture on top. Then they squirt some oil over the top and let it go. About 3 minutes later, they flip and resalt. Needless to say, the plate of food is disappointing, for $ 10-ish. The bed of lettuce underneath the shrimp is just shredded iceberg, like what fills your tacos at Jack in the Box. The tomato are coarsely chopped cheap guys from the grocery store without any seasoning. The beans are clearly straight out of a can. The rice is a bright spot with good seasoning and average flavor. The shrimp is incredibly, unbelievably salty. I can’t get my wedding ring off anymore after eating it. The tortilla is very nice and, I’d guess, homemade in the back. Chips are fine. I got a lemon jalapeño salsa that is also a sodium bomb in every bite. You can see swaths of salt suspended in the mixture. Lesson learned: don’t go to a low-rent Chipotle ripoff hoping for anything close to a traditional Camaron al mojo de ajo.

Really good chicken chipotle burrito; would give five stars if the salsa bar had more options. This was surprisingly good.

I work very close to Señor Jalapeño and this place has a few favorite food items that are excellent and I’m always excited to order it when I’m getting cravings. Great Vegetarian Options — As a part time Vegetarian, I always try to find places with great veggie options. The Zucchini Burrito is awesome. It’s made to order and the burrito is packed with grilled zucchini and corn, beans, rice, and Pico de Gallo. The burrito is super tasty and doesn’t make you feel gross after eating the whole thing. Over the years, it has become one of my favorite items on the menu. GETIT! Great Breakfast Burritos — The breakfast burritos are filled with choice of meat(ham, bacon, or chorizo), eggs, potatoes, cheese, and pico de gallo. It’s huge and so satisfying. Sometimes I ask for both ham and chorizo because I’m a fatty and can’t make up my mind. Sometimes I ask them to add steak if it’s available to make the ultimate breakfast burrito. Whatever your breakfast burrito mood, GETIT! I also love and want to acknowledge the 3 friendly team members that prepare and cook the food, and make this place great. It’s always a great experience every time I visit Señor Jalapeño. High Five to them.

I was nervous to try this place based on some of the reviews, but I recently started working in a building near by and I went with some co-workers. The layout is less than desirable for how busy it gets. The line reaches the door, if not longer. The line also makes it very difficult to get to the soda fountain and salsa bar. Best thing to do, for the salsa anyway, is to get some while waiting in the line. The garlic salsa is very tasty! Aside from the space, which is very small, the food is pretty good. If you order a burrito, tacos or a salad it is very quick. If you order something fried like flautas or chimichangas it can take sometime because they are fried to order. Overall the food is alright, could use a bit more salt or flavor in my opinion. Not bad for a lunch break here and there though. I am sure I will be back in no time.

You get a good bang for your buck! They always load anything I get with extra cheese and everything! I usually can’t finish a meal and end up saving it for later. They have a great salsa bar with actually spicy salsas! And if you like it hot, I recommend the grilled jalapenos they have on the side, delish! Not a perfect 5 star because it doesn’t have that«it» factor that makes you crave more! This is a great place for a daily work lunch, but not somewhere that I would take a visitor or friend to eat.

I’m one of those Technology Drive business people who sometimes needs a place to walk to that serves quality food. Señor Jalapeño is the place. It’s wholesome and very economical-surprisingly so. Their soft tacos are stuffed with chicken and beans and are quite wholesome and satisfying. You can spend $ 3.50 here with chips and receive both quality nutrition and satisfaction. If I could make one suggestion it would be that they allow for the option of «NOT» including green bell peppers and onions inside the breakfast burritos. Once I asked if they could omit those ingredients and it seemed as though this could be difficult(maybe I misunderstood!) Also it would be helpful if the the potatoes were cut in smaller pieces and only a few are used. Just helps the whole«gut busting» effect(tortilla plus giant potatoes) can be quite the gastrointestinal calorie coma. I’ve had their breakfast burritos before when a minimal amount of bell peppers, onions and potatoes were included and the thing was as close to heaven in the breakfast burrito realm as I’ve experienced. Bacon is best. Half a burrito is all that’s needed. Personally if I eat an entire burrito, I’m not hungry for the next 8 hours.

I enjoy coming here for lunch, their food has great taste and I love to get a naked burrito. The portion size is perfect and their chicken is oh so tasty. The staff is friendly most days and quick, great for lunch hour. They have pretty good breakfast burritos too, I like the potato burrito myself. i return here over and over again, the price is a little on the higher side, but the food is good so its a toss.

Came here on a whim with my friends after we landed in SJC airport. We were driving around the area and Unilocaled Mexican Food. It was a little confusing finding the place, mainly because we weren’t used to the Silicon Valley and seeing so many business buildings everywhere. But that won’t affect the rating. Arrived around 10am on a Friday morning. Empty inside, we were able to order quickly. My chorizo breakfast burrito was out in less than 10 mins. It was delicious and a great way to start the morning. I’m glad we ended up coming here and if I ever come back to San Jose in the future, I’d like to try this place out for lunch.

Came here with coworkers on a Friday for a quick lunch. Parking is a bit strange — lots of 20 minute parking spots around the restaurants but there is a lot of regular parking around. However it may be a bit of a walk in the busiest times. They have a fair amount of vegetarian options. The zucchini burrito has grilled zucchini which is nice but the rest of the burrito is rather bland. The next time I got the vegetarian burrito and it was yummy as far as veggie burritos go. They also give a side of chips for each order and have a good salsa bar. The shared seating area outside is quite nice too. My coworker always gets the salad in a taco shell so it must be pretty decent too. The service was fast but they can get backed up during lunch rush. They also have some bottled beers. I’m sure I’ll he returning here again soon.

When craving burritos in the Technology area, you have two options: Señor Jalapeño and Chiptole. While both have a conveyor style, the advantage SJ has is in variety. While you can get burritos, tacos, bowls, and salads — and meats of beef, chicken, and carnitas — at either, SJ does have some additional options like fish, shrimp, chorizo and breakfast options. They do have specials like the Mexi-Philly burrito and the chimichanga, but for the most part if you are coming here, you are looking for in and out, and probably going to stick with a Señor Jalapeño Burrito. Also some things to not miss: fresh tamales, which you can get ala carte or part of a combo meal. Moist and delicious. Also their fresh squeezed orange juice is worth getting in the morning or afternoon. The staff has always been incredibly friendly to everyone. So, if looking for a quick Mexican option in the area, I recommend SJ. But if looking for quality sit down Mexican — this isn’t the place. Just know what you are coming for.

Some of the best breakfast burritos in the South Bay. I was skeptical about trying this place, but a couple of coworkers couldn’t stop raving about how good their breakfast burritos are. Since I will take any excuse to leave the office, we went out on a burrito quest and returned fat and happy. The breakfast burritos convinced me that I needed to try out the lunch menu, which was just as good. You don’t expect quality Mexican food from a restaurant located in the middle of a corporate complex, but this is an exception. It’s definitely not as authentic or tasty as places you will find on the east side, but it’s a good substitute on days you don’t have the time or energy to make the trek for the real thing.

I was craving chips and guac. Enter Señor Jalapeño. After waiting in line for ten minutes(during lunch time this place is apparently hopping) and receiving quick and pleasant service, I let one of the staffers know what I wanted. Sadly I was expecting a much bigger cup of guacamole, especially for 6 dollars. But alas, it was not to be. The guacamole did not taste freshly made and gave me stomach grumbles for the rest of the afternoon. I doubt I’ll be back.
