I just recently went to the remodelled VF food court… and WOW was I blown away! This place looks super high-end and classy… and it’s not even a store, but an assortment of food stores! BUT anyways, back to Sajj: I chose Sajj because the lines were one of the shortest compared to other places(like the burger place, chinese stir-fry, etc.) and was pleasantly surprised. Being a pescatarian, it’s pretty hard finding GOOD non-meat options, and I loved the falafel pita wrap. The falafels were super green in the middle(and it seems like other Unilocalers too don’t know why) and tasted a little too garlic-y…but that’s what gum is for, right? The portions are also HUGE, and my late lunch lasted me well into dinner for the night. The lentil soup with pita chips(pretty much pea soup, if you ask me) was subpar and not my thing… but it’s complimentary with the falafel wrap, so just say yes. I think I had about two spoons and was done. Overall, for the adequate price that you’re paying for your food court meal… I’d say Sajj is a GREAT deal! It’s quick and situated like Chipotle/Panda Express where you can add and edit your meal to your liking. So drop on by and get some Mediterranean yums!

The perfect way to describe them is a «Mediterranean Chipotle». Unlike the branch in North San Jose, Paypal actually works here! I got a Falafel bowl and boy was it a lot of food! The meal is HEAVY! I wanted to take a nap afterwards. Be careful with agreeing to get all the sauces. Ordering can be overwhelming with all the choices, but the overall meal was good. I would much preferred to get more veggies instead of an ocean of sauces/yogurts.

Food was really good! A lot of flavor packed into the meat. I got a chicken shawarma bowl with half rice and half salad. The portion is fairly large, more than my stomach could handle haha. Service was also great, maybe because there wasn’t any line and one person helped me. I would skip the cucumber and tomato salad thing that you can add into your bowl; has no taste… But I mean, we can all use a little extra veggies, right? Haha

So far, this my absolute FAVORITE places to eat at the Valley Fair food court! It is a Mediterranean Chipotle! The process is simple STEP1: You choose your main ingredient(Falafel for my fellow meatless friends, steak shawarma, chicken shawarma, or shawafel which is the combination of falafel and shwarma. STEP2: In what? You can have it in a wrap, salad or rice bowl, pita bread, or salad or rice plate. STEP3: With what? Add in a variety of fresh and delicious toppings, such as eggplant, cauliflower, tahini sauce, cucumber, arugula, etc. STEP4: What sides? Add in hummus, tabbouleh, babaganoush, tzatziki STEP5:(Optional) Choose a refreshing drink. So many options and so much variety! It’s amazing! I am a vegetarian and this place really helps me find a nutritious and delicious meal. I ordered the Falafel salad bowl with eggplant, cauliflower, spicy tahini sauce, garbanzo beans, and tzatziki sauce. OMG it was like a flavorful heaven in my mouth. The combined flavors of the spices, sauces, and marinated vegetables were perfect. Everything was also so fresh and falafels are delicious. Since I got the bowl, everything was pretty much piled on together. Personally, I love having everything in one bite, but if you like your food separate, I would suggest getting a salad or rice place instead of a bowl. The serving size is also HUGE! My bowl included so many perfectly cooked veggies and 5 huge falafels. It is definitely a filling meal that will leave you stuffed for the rest of the day. So worth the $ 9! Definitely check this place out. You do not want to miss out on a meal like this.

Came here on a Monday night and I decided I wanted to try the shwarma since it’s been two years since I’ve had one.(Went to Israel and it was amazing). Anyways there was no line and I ordered a chicken shwarma. I saw all of these containers of food but was surprised that it was like a Chipotle set up. BAM! Have it your way! So I wasn’t sure what half the things in the containers were, but he just asked if I wanted everything in it and whether or not I wanted it spicy. Of course I got the spicy one and had it in a pita. It also came with a free soup with a pita chip in it. Taste? It wasn’t too bad! Of course it didn’t taste as fresh as the ones I ate in Israel, but it was pretty good. Felt like it was drowning in the reddish sauce which may have made it taste better, but the pickled veggies in the shwarma were pretty good also. As for the soup, it wasn’t good. I always say try it and get your own opinion. I won’t waste my time with it. As for service: not sure if it had to do with the fact that they had no line, but service was great. I had one guy help me from start to finish and he was super friendly. Even tried to crack a joke or two. Would I come back? Maybe if I was really craving a shwarma or wanted to try the falafel. There wee plenty of other choices close by.

It’s delicious and they offer the customer service of a community restaurant in lieu of a chain dealer. The other day, I ordered and THEN realized my wallet was not in my purse! They said no problem, next time. You don’t see that to often, and it was truly appreciated. A food court you’d like to hang out in with food that you enjoy eating. Sajj offers delicious meat with sides like: cauliflower, eggplant, arugala, beets, tabouleh, lentil soup, etc. Who knew you could eat at a food court and feel good about yourself when you are done? Thanks SAJJ

This location just opened and you can tell that they are still training the people that work there are trying to get this rolling. I had to wait a pretty long time for the individual in front of me. I think the majority of the confusion is that it’s unclear what items are included and what items you have to pay extra for. They do list on the board which items cost money, but I think it would be a good idea to include the free items as well. On to the food. All of the meals come with lentil soup, which I love, but this one was not good at all. I would pretty much tell them not to include it next time. I got the shawafel salad, which is an awesome idea. It’s a mix of chicken/steak shawerma with falafel. I got the chicken shawerma, which was really tasty. They basically give you 1 scoop of shawerma and 2 falafels. The falafel isn’t good at all, so shame on them. I was really excited about the mix. I added garbanzo beens, cauliflower, pickled cucumbers, garlic cream(my favorite), hummus, cucumber and tomato mix, lettuce, tabbouleh, and sprinkled with spicy tahini sauce. I got some shatta(the spicy stuff) on the side, which is also tasty. I enjoyed all of the ingredients in the salad except for the falafel. The salad was good overall and I will be back to try additional items and will update my review. I tried using paypal to pay, but I couldn’t find this location on the app, so they will need to update that.

They took away the lamb from the lamb and beef shawarma. The beef now tastes like Mexican chorizo. You also can’t do a half order any more or order the children’s portions. That stinks because I can’t finish the entire bowl anyway. The cups are defective. Three times in a row, the lid leaked but we never knew from where. The lentil soup is still no good. Don’t stray from the pomegranate chicken. It’s excellent. The eggplant and cauliflower never fails to satisfy and is worth the extra cost. The service has gotten better.

Their beef shwarma tastes like Chinese beef jerky. So disappointed. Waste of nine bucks.

Not sure if SAJJ stands for anything, but I abbreviated it to «Such A Janky Joint» because this place was super disappointing. — If you’re copying the Chipotle model and charging $ 2 – 3 more than a Chipotle bowl, it better be worth it… it. was. not. — I’m not expecting my food to come out beautifully, but you have to at least make the plate look semi pleasant to eat. Everything was brownish mush. and mush+mush = 1.5 in a bowl –___– *gag* — while you provide free lentil soup w/my meal, it was a greenish mush that lacked salt and flavor. — my stomach did not appreciate your food. your 1.5-looking food made me want to 1.5 #TMI With all of the SAJJ stores popping up in the South Bay, I hope you guys figure out what your customers like because I am clearly not one of them and I have no intentions on ever returning #sorrynotsorry

Chipotle style. Got a chicken bowl. Threw stuff in there. It was okay, nothing memorable. Loved the garlic spread. Guy working behind the counter looked unhappy and didn’t know what toppings they had. Casheir was enthusiastic. Lentil soup with pita soup was painful to eat. Took one bite and was done.

A chipotle style mediterranean restaurant. I ordered the chicken shwarma wrap and it was DAMNGOOD. I have absolutely no complaints about the wrap. …THESOUP, ONTHEOTHERHAND… holy crap it was one of the nastiest things I’ve ever tasted. If they offer it to you, just trust me and say no. cuz you’re gonna take one spoonful and throw the entire thing into the trash like I did. I tried to spruce it up with siracha… yeah no, just no.

Came here for lunch last weekend and had to stop by. I was craving something fresh, soooo– here we go! This a build-your-own-plate establishment, so there’s that. I ordered the chicken shawarma and it was just okay. My boyfriend had ordered everything on it so there were tons of veggies, which is nice(YAYFIBER!) but there wasn’t a lot of meat. I took many bites until I finally found the chicken center. However, it was so big that I could only finish half of it and I had to go get two sheets of aluminum foil to wrap it up. They didn’t give us pita chips, and we didn’t even though they were on the house until we saw a bunch of people with them on their trays. Oops. Also, the soup was pretty bland. Not going to eat that again. I’ll give it a second try soon though.

I had the chicken shawarma. Not bad. I thought it was a little pricey for a rather small burrito, but it was pretty tasty. I’ll probably try something different next time, as the falafel bowl the guy next to me had looked good. Worth a second look, but nothing to die for. Lots of choices at the Valley Fair food court though.

Had to run an errand at the mall today so I stopped in the Newley renovated food court. Felt like eating somewhat healthy and saw SAJJ. Friendly staff greater me as I walked up. Menu is small but it’s kinda like a bud your own concept. I ordered the Falafel which came with soup. Falafel is just«okay» and the soup isn’t something I’d order again. My pita fell apart after the first bite so they obviously aren’t super fresh but the falafel balls are good and not to dry. I think it’s a nice alternative to the other heavy greasy food court options. Is this outstanding? No. Is it something ill crave enough to come back? Probably not. But it’s a nice option if I’m out shopping and need a bite.

There are 3 kinds of «chipotles» in the food court now. This place is a middle eastern/mediterranean version. I ended up making a shwerma burrito and added all kinds of deliciousness to that bad boy.(Pink pickles, eggplant spread, hummus, tomatoes, tatziki, etc). Not too shabby but I feel like the whole chipotle concept is getting over used in once location haha(Tava, Chipotle & Sajj all work this way)

Was at the mall considering lunch options and settled on Sajj. As I see others have noted, this is the Mediterranean version of the Chipotle concept. Build your own meal with several options for proteins, starch, vegetables, etc. This was just okay for me. I do like the concept, but the food itself was not particularly outstanding for me. I had beef+lamb shawarma in a pita with various vegetables/pickles and hummus. Again, nothing stood out for me. Also, the pita doesn’t lend itself well to even distribution of components. All of my meat was in the bottom of the pita while all the vegetables/pickles were at the top. Pricing is about on par with comparable items at Chipotle, and the food is assembled in front of you with previously prepared items, so the wait is not long. Not bad but not great either. Given the other options in the dining terrace, I might choose something else next time.

My customize Sajj Wrap: — Lamb and beef shawarma — all three spreads instead of one(tzatziki, hummus, and garlic crème) — grilled eggplant — arugula and romaine lettuce — pickled turnip — spicy cherry peppers — cucumber — spicy tahini sauce The finishing touch was like a gigantic burrito that came with a side of lentil soup and pita chips. Everything tasted splendid. Fresh, fast, and friendly service.

The new food court at Valley fair has opened up a lot of dining opportunities for a different taste palate. What I enjoy about Sajj is that it is quick, customizable, different, and tastes pretty good. I was curious to try out shwarma, so I got a chicken shwarma wrap, and filled it with random goodies, going with the main suggestion of the tomato/cucumber salad mixture and rice. I really enjoyed the taste of my wrap; the chicken was very aromatic, I liked the pleasant pickled-ness of my veggies, and I enjoyed the sauces they put on top. It was a really filling meal that came with soup(and fries as well. when they dont run out). The wrap also made it very convenient for me to eat. I ordered the mint lemonade(since there is no more hot dog on a stick :(!!) and it was okay, I didn’t taste much of the mint but it was still pretty good lemonade. I would dine here again, but I have to try all the other new places at the food court first haha. I enjoy that valley fair gives shoppers the opportunity to try non-typical food court eats!

Valley Fair’s dining terrace promised a wide variety of food stalls to choose from and Sajj is one of them! I went here about fifteen minutes after they opened and was greeted by one of their staff who didn’t seem very happy(maybe she was having a bad morning). She asked me what I wanted and with no energy whatsoever she added two of the ingredients I asked for on the wrap and passed it on to another girl who was in a better mood than she was! FOOD — — — — — SAJJ Wrap — You can customize your own wrap! I ordered the chicken shwarma wrap with tomato, cucumbers, aragula, brown rice, and avocado($ 1 extra). The lady asked if I wanted my wrap heated/toasted and I said yes… However, about 30 seconds later she handed it to me, only one side of the wrap was warm. The wrap was good, but it barely had any chicken in it so I couldn’t really get that taste I like with each bite. The avocado was good addition, but $ 11 for the wrap wasn’t worth it. Pita Chips — I ordered this as a side, which was good but super oily. Overall, the price and quality of the food just didn’t match. For an eleven dollar wrap I was expecting something really delicious!
