Mendoza’s Restaurant

Zero stars, worst service ever, slow host, don’t bring you drinks right away, slow and bad quality. I would recommend another place.

Okay, I’m not one to usually Unilocal.But for this place I just have to. First off, once you walk into Mendoza’s the first thing you’ll notice is that majority, if not all the tables are completely scattered with dirty dishes. I came in with my family on a lovely Sunday afternoon, about 6 – 7 of us and as we were waiting for our table to be cleaned off (since there weren’t any clean ones) I went to the rest room in the mean time. Then I noticed a big fat piece of shit on the ground next to toilet, yes, NEXT TOO. Not in the toilet. I wanted to throw up almost instantly. I didn’t even use the rest room. Bad vibes already. Once I came out the rest room, my fam is still waiting for a clean table. One of the servers finished wiping it down, it was still so wet and sticky. That my boyfriends dad had to literary wipe the table again.
Then as we finally sit down. We wait about 5 – 10 minutes for our menus. And as a server myself, I already know this is going down hill.
Finally the lady comes to our table to ask if we wanted menus… Ummm yes pleasereeee that’d be nice to look at what We’d like to eat today. Smh
And she asks for our drink orders and surprisingly she brought those out quickly. She also Brought chips and salsa to the table and the chips were so STALE and cold and just NASTY
Then we were finally ready to order. As we wait about 10 – 15 minutes from being sat we noticed the table behind us (who’s been there for about 20−25mins before us still hasn’t received their drinks. At this point my family and I are being super patient and try to understand that there are only two cooks (elderly ladies) and one manager and two servers who are CLEARLY over whelmed and confused with the entire restaurant and everyone’s order. They brought at least 4 dishes to our table that wasn’t ours.
Then my grandma gets her first dish corn tamales, she finishes them before any of us get anything. 10 minutes later my bfs dad gets his soup. Then 40 mins later I am still waiting for my soup and my bfs mom is waiting for her enchiladas, and my bfs two brothers who ordered a quesadilla and tacos never came out. We LITERALLY had to tell them to cancel our orders. And asked for the check for just our drinks, chips and salsa, corn tamales, and tiny bowl of soup.
WE WILL NEVER COME HERE AGAIN. And unless you want to wait 45-​hour for your drinks and food, HORRIBLE SERVICE and shitty restrooms. I suggest you DONT either. I would have rather got a beefy five layer from taco belle. hey, At least their chips are warm and crispy.

I went there with a few family members and friends; there were only 5 in our party. First of all, at least half of the chips were stale; we should have left them, but we were all hungry, so…
The waitress spoke only a little English, but that was ok as 2 of us spoke Spanish.
When the waitress started bringing out our meals, the 1^st one was brought at least 5 minutes before the rest. Then the waitress brought 1 more, than about 3 – 4 minutes, a 3^rd meal. The 4^th meal was another 3 – 4 minutes; the last meal was at least 5 minutes later. After our request, another basket of stale chips. A refill on water was almost impossible. (I was a waitress for many years, so I’m certainly not blaming the waitress for the odd way the meals were delivered, but I am complaining about having to ask, more than once, for simple things, like chips & water)
Now, in regard to the food itself: I ordered a combination meal of an enchilada and a soft taco. The enchilada was dry; it had a little bit of sauce for coloring! The taco had a little bit of meat, nothing else. I believe the menu said it included a salad, which consisted of about 1 tablespoon of lettuce & a slice of tomato.
Someone ordered flautas, and I have never had flautas like that. They were covered with cabbage & a few carrots. Someone else ordered a burrito, and he said the meat was «different». And the prices were way too high for the quality of the food!!!
I don’t need to go on; our meals were terrible. Our service was not much better. Next time, I will go to Taco Bell, and I don’t like Taco Bell, so …

This restaurant is no longer «Mendoza’s». It’s called «Camilas». The food has gone down, bad. My first suspicion was when my plate arrived 20 minutes after ordering. The enchilada was small, dry and not good. The taco was horrible. I will never return.

Good food and good service. Place is usually packed with locals. I had chicken and beef enchiladas and a chili relleno and everything was delicious. Food came hot with molten cheese as expected. Looking forward to trying all their other tasty looking entrees.

I keep forgetting how bad is this place, very bad customer service, dirty and overpriced, rating one star just because their food is okay, this will be the last time me and my family eat at this place, will take our business to someone else.
The waiter was scratching her head/​fixing her hair while serving food… Just disgusting.

Im from L. A but was in town visiting my wifes fam. Chilaquiles are good and the menudo is the shit! Service is good and prices are what you expect. Their menu has it all. Parillada, molcagete, sea food. BEER!

My sister never got her food like they forgot or something even after the waiter assured us it was coming but the rest of our table finished eating and her plate never came so she told them never mind she did not want it
Food is really over priced.
Never again.

My family and I went Saturday morning for some handmade tortilla tacos and got served what looked and tasted like leftover meat ! It was disgusting! Not to mention half of us got served and 20 minutes later the other half. I wouldn’t recommend this place. Then service is bad and the food is terrible.

Slow service. Ordered two carne asada tacos and one cheese quesadilla — waited 20 minutes for my order. And to top it off the food was gross. How do you mess up tacos/​quesadillas? I do not recommend this place at all. Should have gone to the taco truck a few doors down…

Food was decent, but the volume of their jukebox makes it impossible to have a conversation at your own table. Couldn’t wait to get out.

Really awesome burritos and shrimp cocktails, but the other food was to expensive for so little.
