L&Ls is soooooo tasty! Hits the spot every time!!! The chicken katsu is amazing! Every time I check in it gives me 5% off which is pretty cool because I thought they only did it once! Every time I’ve been there Sandra is at the front. She’s sweet and very patient because I’m always ordering for others so it takes me a while! And the food is always good!

This location is stingy and rude. Go to the curtner avenue one. Better service and you don’t need to pay for your sauce lol. It comes with it.

I only come here for their spam musubi’s since I’m not down to drive all the way to Curtner for a cleaner L&L.

The lady got my order wrong. I called them and I repeated that I want 3 Misubi Trio and she confirmed it and when I went to go pick up my order she thought I only wanted 1 set of Misubi Trio so then I had to wait for the rest of the food. The spam was burnt and it didn’t taste that good unlike before. Very unacceptable.

Food is still very good. Customer service needs a LOT of work! More than 30min for my order & not 1 word of explanation until I asked. May be a while before I go to this store again.

The food here is pretty great, but there are real issues with the management. The cashier told us the the owner makes them charge extra for options that the menu says come with the meal(brown rice costs extra, even though the combo plate says that it comes with brown or white). The cashier was really rude, and then they took forever(12 minutes or so) to get us our food. While we were there, someone came in to pick up a fax order, and they said that they didn’t have it, and treated the customer really rudely.

I’ve visited a few L&L’s over the years, and this one has been the most disappointing of all of them. I usually go to the one nearby, up Curtner, and I dunno if it’s that they spoiled me or what, but the difference in food between these 2 locations is truly remarkable. I figured it’s a chain right? – so in theory food shouldn’t differ too much between locations? Well, not in this case. My favorite item from L&L, maybe not cause it’s the most filling or most amazing tasting, but because it’s good and is somewhat healthy, is the Masubi Trio. I ALWAYS get that, unless if I’m super hungry and want to splurge. Anyway, I always order it with brown rice. Sometimes they charge extra, most of the time not. My usual at the Curtner location is always suprisingly sophisticated! The chicken katsu is large, expertly fried, thick and juicy. The spam is, well, spam. And the pork is always very large too, and again thick and juicy. Totally awesome so I always get it. Then I got it at this L&L recently, and wow,… it’s like a totally different recipe. The Curtner’s version has about 1″ of rice and meat hanging out both ends which this one fits completely within the seaweed. The meat portions are also ½ the size and cooked less crispy, less juicy. And the rice… total MUSH! … Like WTF… either Curtner decided the standard house recipe sux and did their own thing, or this place decided to go cheap and crappy… which way was it?! Also, of note is that this location is FREEZING. Do not come here without a jacket. Seriously. I’ve been here like 5 times, and it’s always colder than a refrigerator, no matter how hot or cold it is outside. Anyway… the Curtner one has far better food. Don’t bother with this location. 1⁄5 #fastfood #hawaiian

I love L&L, really I do. This location is useless. The front counter girls are lazy, always in a hurry for no reason. While my receipt always reflects what I’ve order(after explaining it to them 2 – 3 times). Twice now the cooks have managed to screw up my order. Don’t even get me started on the cleanliness of this location either. Yick, never again…

Spam masubi was very good. I have not had anything else here. I usually only get the spam masubi and it’s always been good. If you are a fan I would highly recommend.

This is one of my all time favorite places to go after a marching band rehearsal. The chicken katsu 10⁄10. The beef short ribs 10⁄10.

IFYOUDON’T READANYTHINGELSE: THE«MACARONISALAD» CONTAINSSEAFOODANDENOUGHSHELLFISHTOCAUSEANALLERGICREACTION. Needed food for about a dozen people, some of them kids. Counter person was very friendly and helpful but WAY oversold me on portions. My entire office is eating leftovers(they’re not complaining). Food was ready basically on time and tasted great. The only downside was a child’s allergic reaction to the undisclosed seafood in the Macaroni salad. The presence of fish and/or shellfish in the salad makes it taste great but isn’t listed anywhere in the store or on the menu. Had it been listed anywhere, the horrible experience for the child and their parents could have been avoided. Hard to believe they don’t disclose this ingredient.

Okay Lady at the counter no one wants to see you use a toothpick while taking orders doesn’t matter that your man is here and when no customers are ordering she goes back and sits down with him, eating. BBQ chicken with skin left on chicken. The food is okay for an L & L would I come back to this location probably not.

Very low quality ingredients and the food doesn’t taste good. Got a beef bowl once and ramen burger the next time. Just gross. Who are the people who give this place five stars? Are we even the same species here? Unhealthy and not tasty. Do NOT go. Real talk.

I don’t know the guy was that was working the register last night but he was on fire. He was the only one in the front of house and he was on top of everything. He was taking orders, serving meals to go and dine in. He was just on top of everything and didn’t miss a beat. He was also nice and friendly. I don’t know who this guy was but I hope he’s paid well because he’s a keeper. I wish everyone in customer service was like him. The world would be a much better place.

Wow! Not a good wow, very bad! This L&L location has got to be the worst! Take my word, this Wai’anae boy knows ono grinds! The laulau I got from them for my aloha Friday lunch was a pathetic version posing as hawaiian food. Either the staff needs to change or they need to shut down and leave Hawaiian food and Hawaiian style grinds up to the the people that know how to do it right! Avoid this location at all cost, not worth making yourself sick or wasting your money. And for any good reviews and five stars for this particular location probably came from someone that has zero tastebuds and never enjoyed authentic Hawaiian(island style) food. If I have to give this place a star it’s only cause they sell Hawaiian Sun juice. ATALLCOSTAVOIDTHEALMADEN L&L.

Rounded up from a 2.5 stars. This is an okay place for Hawaiian BBQ. I think the quality has decreased over the years, but maybe it just depends on the location! I ordered the chicken katsu(like always). I don’t think I’ve tried anything else on this menu. I’m always afraid to! But the chicken katsu is just so simple to eat. Fried chicken! Everybody loves that! I ordered the combo plate, which comes with two scoop of rice and one scoop of macaroni salad. Okay, if you’re like me and likes to save on money but still eat good food, here’s a great tip for you. Don’t eat in! Dine at home. Order the chicken to go! So instead of ordering the combo plate, just order the chicken on its own and go home and add your own rice to it! YEAH! And you can add a side of greens to this to make it more healthy! How great is that?! But anyways, the chicken was alright. And the sauce is the same. Nothing too exciting. I like to dunk my chicken in the sauce and then chili sauce for a little spicy kick. :) The service here is not that bad though. The cashier was very friendly and always smiling. He was patient as I read through the entire menu, even though I already knew what I was getting! So thank you cashier!

Stick with the regular Hawaiian favorites. Don’t try any of their«healthy» meals because they honestly taste like crap. The salmon patty is super dry and parts of the sides are almost rock hard… I’m not really a picky eater nor do I complain a lot but this is pretty bad LOL. My girlfriend got the healthy bbq chicken and that was actually decent because how do you mess up chicken? Oh and the rice sucks so bad. Trust me. Anywho, pass on the«healthier» meals and just get the regular ones because they’re probably healthier…

The food here is great. Chicken katsu done the same and perfect each time, which is a big deal for me. BBQ beef plate is fabulous. Rice is great and macaroni salad is one of the few that I will eat. Portions are also a great size. The setting here is clean with me an us fresh and clear and on big screens and digital… welcome to silicon valley. Its not a gigantic place, but it doesn’t need to be. I will say that the TV comment mentioned by others is true and annoying. It really plays whatever is on… from kids cartoons to random other movies that probably shouldn’t be played in a restaurant. Only downfall is it is slow to get your food, but I rather that then premade food sitting under heat lamps. Parking can also be bad since its in the Costco area.

Awesome Hawaiian Typical BBQ, great healthy plate & drink options. Makes me seriously miss the Islands! You can’t go wrong with any dish. Decent dining room & restrooms. Food is made on the spot so isn’t super fast but not crowded & very clean!

L & L is here! Located in the Costco lot, next to Starbucks, Trader joes, or a phở place. Ok, compared to the one on Campbell, it’s similar. The mono chicken and spam Musubi was a bit different. I like the Campbell location because 1) Mini chicken plate: scoop of rice and Mac salad was different. This location has a smaller scoop. MAC salad at the Campbell location is more authentic to Hawaii then the one at this location. 2) Spam Musubi: spam was sliced very thin compared to the Campbell location. Once again, the Musubi was smaller then the Campbell location. So, I know that this location may be new, but it still has a few kinks to get out.
