The food here is good, as good as the Almaden one, better than the one in Santa Clara. The restaurant itself is small and dark and not very inviting. Otherwise, it’s good here.

This place is great! It is right by my work so I have lunch there like three times a week. I call in my order they tell me it will be ready in 10 minutes, and it is easy ready in five minutes so that by the time I get there I’m ready to eat. They have healthy options in the portion size is great for like $ 7. Keep it up L&L

They pack the food way more than any of the other locations I’ve been too! Also wait isn’t long even if they are busy, other places I go to have only one person ahead of me and the wait is even longer than what it should be. I would give this place 10 stars!

You got you try out the Katsu Chicken and Loco moco, this is my favorite place to stop for lunch. Located next to UbreakiFix, it’s a great place to fill up when you need your smartphone repaired while you wait. They have a great staff and the food hits the spot. They have a great selection of Hawaiian food that will fill you up. Highly recommended.

It is absolutely ok to have some greasy, junk food. .. . once in a while! In, of course, moderation. With that said. I love this place! If you are looking for a «bang for you buck» eatery, this is the place to eat. They portion size is huge. So much larger than Ono Hawaiian BBQ in Morgan Hill. I swear, with just a mini meal, I will have more than enough left over for the next day. I always get the chicken katsu with all mac! I think their food is a lot fresher and more well cooked than Ono and even their L&L branch in Gilroy. Ever since I found this place, I stopped going to the other Hawaiian BBQ places. It is worth the drive even though I have Ono a few blocks down from my place.

Came with the intention to grab something to eat to go like always & ended up with a fake $ 50 bill. My cashiers name was JJ& my total was 9.53 around there. I ordered #6 regular which was the chicken katsu, I payed with a $ 100 bill and got back 2 $ 20 bills and the $ 50 bill. I put my money in my wallet without checking it it was fake, it’s a restaurant they should know better than to check. I didn’t realize it was fake until later that night when I went down to 7eleven to get a drink. It was a very embarrassing moment when the cashier at 7eleven told me it was fake, never have I experienced that. I tried going back but the place was closed I waited till today to go. I asked to see the manager but was told by the same cashier that he wasn’t there but asked what the problem was, I asked if she remembered me from yesterday and she said yes and so on I told her about the fake bill and she got all upset saying it wasn’t there where I got it. But that’s the only money I had from that $ 100 bill. Another guy came along and asked what was happening I told him I wanted to speak to the manager and he said he was the manager. So the cashier lied!!! He repeatedly kept asking the cashier if she had given this to me & her response obviously was no, but did remember giving me a $ 50, but said she always checked the bills, uuh obviously not. He returned only $ 40 because he said he wasn’t sure if to believe me or not, as he was giving me the money the cashier was mimicking me & saying I can’t be going to a store doing that! Doing what? Getting my money back, I work my ass off for my money and best believe I’ll fight for my money !! Unfortunately I lost $ 10 but it’s better than losing $ 50. Very bad customer service from JJ, she should know her place & not act like she is the boss when all she is just a cashier! So sad to say and do this but never will I be coming back again!

We frequent this location since it’s by our house. Being a Pacific Islander it’s probably weird of me to say that I don’t like Hawaiian BBQ as much as I should LOL But when I do come here, the food is pretty good. My favs are the BBQ beef and Katsu Chicken.

I’ve had L&L in the past and the quality of food was at least 4 star. I’m giving 2 stars due to the fact that the girl handling the register tried to multitask and failed miserably. Don’t ask how I’m doing and not take my order and then leave to go bag 4 other orders. Who does that? Maybe they need to designate another employee to pack and call out numbers?

First time trying this place. The staff is friendly and the place is fairly clean. I had the #2 which was the BBQ combo if I remember correctly. Everything was pretty good, especially the macaroni side that they include with the meal. The reason for the 3 stars is the meat quality could have been better — it was pretty tough.

12÷13÷15: Just want to write a quick review to reward this location for its above-average(for L&L’s) food. I’ve been coming consistently to this location for over an year now, ever since moving up North to San Jose. I like that a lot of the food is high-protein and you can pair the meats with fibrous and good-for-you stuff like brown rice to fill you up a bit better. I really wish there were more serious Asian or Chinese places around this neighborhood, but this is as close to healthy daily eating you’re gonna find in the cheaper region of your wallet. But anyway, that’s probably so for all L&L’s out there. The difference with this one is that the food is cooked significantly better than other locations! Compare with this one: I never knew until going to that other location a couple times that different stores can vary completely in the cooking of their food! I mean, there really is no comparison between the food of this location vs that other one. It’s like comparing a kid’s cheeseburger from McDonald’s vs. one of the special ones from The Counter. Really. That big of a difference. Alright, there are two things you need to know about this location: 1. It is COLD. Like REALLYCOLD, 100% ALLYEARLONG. In summer it’s a refrigerator inside, and during the winter it is a goddam meat locker. Bring a heavy coat here, even in summer. I know it’s gonna look retarded. But at least you won’t be shivering. 2. They are SLOW. It takes like 15min for them to get me my order, which is always a combo plate of meat or a masubi trio. Or even longer. But anyway, can’t beat the food here. The masubi trio is awesome – huge pieces of meat, and the fried chicken so perfectly made it’s better than restaurants. And the BBQ plates are great. Anyway, there you go. Just had to say it. 4⁄5 #hawaiian

Our first time eating this location on Curtner. Not too busy on a Saturday night which is good. We got the loco moco and bbq beef bowl. The food tasted great and who doesn’t love Hawaiian fast food. I always enjoy eating the hamburger patties with the extra taste of gravy. Yum! The employees were nice and great atmosphere to eat here.

Tried their chicken katsu curry and I was very disappointed. The pork was soft and crispy outside but the curry sauce was tasteless.(I couldn’t even finish it and I’m a katsu and curry lover) My friend liked the Kalua pork but they said it could’ve been better. Can’t beat the price though, they give big portions for a small plate. Place could also use more lighting.

This location is much cleaner and nicer than the others I’ve been too. Staff here is also very friendly. Food comes out in a timely manner. Review is solely based on the food I received. The thing I have to complain about is their short rib. I ordered a bbq combo plate which consisted of short rib, beef and chicken. All their meats were too salty for me, but I admit that I have a low salt tolerance. I had to eat an extra fork of rice to balance out the saltiness. The short rib however was so incredibly tough, my knife couldn’t cut it and my teeth wasn’t able to break it down. Every piece I chewed, I ended up spitting out. It was extremely rubbery and left my front teeth sore from trying to tear it apart. I even shared some with my two friends and they agreed that it was super tough. It was fighting me back and sadly, it won. I’d still come back, however I won’t be ordering the short rib again.

I came to this location before and the food was great for main land Hawaiian bbq, came back the second time it wasn’t the same. My boyfriend had ordered a mix plate and their ribs barely had any meat on it! As for my plate, I got a mini loco moco, their mac salad tastes horrible and tastes like low quality mayo. Their burger meat tastes just like the beef at McDonald’s, not even tender. Lowest grade in meat. I think Ill just gave up on all locations for L&L Hawaiian bbq! I understand it’s fast food, but have some pride in your food prep.

2.5−3STAR. Well, I’ve been going to L&L for years, and it’s always been one of those lunch places where you decide to go after you’ve exhausted all other options for lunch and just decide you want to get some Hawaiian BBQ. My wife and I try to limit our visits to L&L to about once a month(I think she sometimes goes for lunch by herself when I am at work lol). We always order the same thing — BBQ Mix Combo with 2 Spam Musubi’s. BBQ Mix Combo is $ 9.95 and comes with BBQ chicken, BBQ beef, and a short rib with macaroni salad and rice. Sometimes we get the Seafood BBQ combo where you get fried fish and shrimp and then you choose one BBQ meat. The meat itself isn’t bad though! Sometimes it’s a little overcooked, but sometimes they get it spot on. I guess it just depends on the day that you go, right? I just have to use Sriracha to add some flavor to the BBQ chicken. The BBQ beef is a little bit better than the chicken in my opinion. Spam Musubi’s are pretty decent too, but they do have a lot of rice in them. It’s always a quick $ 16 lunch visit, and it’s not mind-blowing and it’s not god-awful either. But like I said, L&L is one of those places that you know is there, and is only to be used as a last resort. My wife and I like to just share the plate there. It’s enough to keep us satisfied until dinner time.

Hawaiian barbecue? Nope, just the spam and rice please. Ordered: — Spam Musubi $ 1.59 each Tina’s Tips and Tantrums — Friend came in for two Spam musubis, which is spam wrapped in seaweed with rice — I didn’t eat here, but definitely had it before. I can’t say much about this store’s food because I didn’t eat it. — I was probably only in the store for a food 10 minutes to wait for the food — While I was waiting, I noticed that they need someone to really clean the floors, it’s pretty disgusting looking — Trash was overflowing, tables were not straightened out with chairs and the tops were dirty. — Good thing we didn’t study here…
