Located right off of 13th and Taylor, this little market is a one stop shop for bomb ass munchies and everything that could give you the munchies *wink wink. I won’t go too much into the interesting things you will encounter in this little neighborhood market, but I will tell you how delicious their taqueria is. They have the traditional Mexican cuisine and have a ton of salsa options to go along with your meal. However, the reason I keep coming back here is for their orange sauce. Move over La Vics and Iguanas this spot’s orange sauce is epic! Overall, if you’re in the area and are craving some burritos or tacos with some delicious aguas frescas then defining check this little spot out. Don’t forget to load up on their orange sauce, because you’ll forget all about those other guys’ orange sauces.

I’ve tried«alot» of taquerias. The food here is great. All the food is the way it is supposed to taste(as far as all the ones I’ve tasted here). The main thing about Mexican food is that its not supposed to be dry, and this place is full of moist flavors. yumm.

Lived close to this place but never checked it out until now. Got a regular quesadilla with asada and it was really good. Going to try the other stuff too.

come to eat tacos out side El Sol market and had the best tacos ever!!! They sell them in a little truck that is very cool looking and the alpastor meat is the bomb. The last time I came 6 months ago and their food has not changed at all. I like the atmosphere of eating out side. They have a second location off story and king rd. Tacos nomas!!! I recommend them. Oh and there the best tacos ever.

Hell yeah. Came here after the bf’s rugby game just at random. As San Franciscans, we couldn’t possibly leave San Jo without eating their finest culinary cuisines! I wanted tacos, dammit. Oh hell yeah… I kind of assumed that a «super mercado» was similar to an «oriental market». In that the cleanliness was varying in different degrees depending on who you asked, all cashiers spoke very limited english, you went there for all that good ingredients and shtuff you can’t find at Safeway(Don’t you dare by Kraft Macaroni at Sunset super or El Sol Super Mercado!!), and lastly, a cafeteria-style hot food line was available for cheap eats. I was right. Upon entering the sliding doors, boyfriend went straight for the hot food. In my distractedness within a new environment, I beelined it towards the fresh cheese area. God, I love queso fresca. I can eat it by itself for dinner. But with all these variations, prices and such, damned if I knew how to order. So I just watched the old latin lady from afar to see what she got. She got an affordable pieced cheese, so when I was next in line, I confidently pointed to the cheese Grandma ordered. Passed by the pastry boxes, and picked up a few egg tart things and made my way back to the BF who had ordered a burrito and two tacos with some Agua Fresca. But that Watermelon tho… Burrito was delish, and sweet lord, that al pastor and carnitas tacos…

The Parking Lot! Very generous portions at a great price. Everything I’ve eaten here tasted great. I’m just not super fond of the drunks that occasionally hang around outside asking for beer money.

Im basing off the food ive eaten from the taqueria only. Ive only had the quesadilla here & seriously, it the only place that doesn’t over cook the asada. Its fucking huge too! It’s like they use burrito sized tortillas & fold them in half. I’m sure most of you that might read this review have eaten at LA Vics & had their ‘orange sauce’. Well, this spot claims that they’ve had they’re orange sauce before la vics even came with theirs. I don’t know for a fact if it’s true but I do know that I like el sol’s orange sauce better than la vics. la vics’ sauce is creamier. Therefore it’s less spicy. El sol’s orange sauce is less creamy but spicier than la vics! Again, I haven’t had anything else besides their quesadilla here but just based off of that versus all the food I’ve tried at la vics. If i were to ignore the sauces & pick by the taste of the food itself. El Sol definately serves better tasting food.

You want a huge burrito? Tacos? Maybe a quesadilla the size of a manhole cover? This place is a hidden gem! Disguised as a neighborhood supermarket with a million gumball machines in front, they’ve got a taqueria in here that gives all the local faves a run for their money. It’s also a carniceria, in case you want to take some meat home with you. Or buy phone cards. But I digress. Friendly family service, down to the six year-old running the register(is that a labor law violation?), with very nice people all around. Never mind the extremely loud Tejano music blasting from the loudspeakers or the occasional carload of sweaty laborers who choose to enjoy their meal al fresco, these are minor irritants when on a quest for a good burrito. Did I mention they’ve got an orange sauce that makes La Victoria’s taste like dog water?
