The Birria was delicious! Hand made corn tortillas were very tasty as well. The place has a quaint, old Mexico feel, and the place is small small, hole in the wall, but those tend to be the best. I will be back

Woooohhhhooo! 2nd review. My friend and I came to this place on one of those lazy Sunday mornings after a night of drinking. Phở is my usual go-to, but we decided to switch it up. This place is definitely a hole in the wall. The only thing that made it stand out was the giant red flag outside. The moment we walked in, we sat where we pleased. The waitress quickly gave us menus and brought us bottled water when we asked for waters. I found this a bit odd, but at the same time amusing since other places just give you a glass. We each had the order of birria. I personally thought the flavor of the meat and the broth was on point. But both had their own setbacks keeping them from being really good. The meat wasn’t tender enough. I didn’t have a bone that came with my meat, but meat wouldn’t have fallen off. The broths consistency is pretty similar to water. Again the flavor was there, but it didn’t feel like a hearty meal. If I came here on a cold winter day, it wouldn’t have made me feel warm and fuzzy inside for long yknow? I do have to give credit to the portion size. The thing that displeases me most about this place is that they DIDENDUPCHARGINGUSFORTHEBOTTLESOFWATER. Maybe I was a bit naïve to think that they wouldn’t(or it could have been because I was so amused thinking that free water came in a form of a bottle that I wasn’t thinking straight). I didn’t read the first review by the time I sipped on my bottle, but I don’t believe in paying for water at a restaurant. I also was not a fan of them not informing us they would charge us for the water. The standard of water in any restaurant you go to is regular water in a glass unless you specify otherwise. This seemed more like a sneaky tactic to earn a couple of dollars from unknowing patrons. I would have given them three stars if not for this.

Been here twice. The carne asada tacos are so good that I set up a Unilocal account to tell you about them. Awesome homemade tortillas, too. So cheap. So good. So full.

I’m not sure how new this place is but there is no sign on the outside with the name or anything. You have to look at the menu to see it. It’s a pretty small place, only about 8 – 10 tables, one TV, and a kitchen. Walked in for lunch and no one was there but the hubby had gone before with some coworkers so I trusted him. Service is quick and friendly, we sat where we wanted and were quickly brought menus. When we asked for water, they brought us 2 bottled waters. We had to ask for tap water since we weren’t sure if we were going to get charged for the bottles or not. I don’t believe in paying for water. Chips and salsa come to your table. The salsa has a kick so beware. The place is known for their birria as their name indicates but I wasn’t feeling it so I ordered one of their combo plates with an enchilada and chile relleno. I got a chicken enchilada and asked for some sour cream on the side since it didn’t come with it. My plate was pretty good. Everything tasted fresh. I even ate all the rice and beans which I generally don’t do. The rice is the classic Mexican rice and it was subtle tomato flavor. The beans were refried and topped with cheese, I think mozzarella. $ 8.95 for combo. The hubby had the birria which came with tortillas, onions, cilantro, lemon and salsa. He said it was tasty and had good flavor and was a good portion. $ 9.50. I used his onions and cilantro to add more zing to my combo plate. I love cilantro. I would go back as it’s close to work and the food was good. I’m tempted to try their other items.
