This place has simply has terrible service. Recently, I ate here for dinner and there were clearly open tables for customers if they had only cleaned up the dishes. All the waiters and waitresses completely ignored the dirty tables and just left me and my mom plus a few other customers waiting for 15 minutes. Finally, as we waited for more than 20 minutes, we told the waiter to clean up the tables and he did. The food here is okay, nothing special. For the appetizer, I got the fried bean curd. There was no flavor at all, it was plain and bland. I got the Salty beef and Crispy pork Guilin Noodle and it lacked some flavor, however, the portions were generous. I also ordered the peanut chicken feet stew and when the waiter brought the soup, he instead gave us the ginseng slice chicken stew. We told the waiter of this accident, thinking that he would just replace it with the correct soup, but unfortunately after talking to the chef, he realized that they were not making that specific soup that day. This turned out to be a huge disappointment, but I was willing to let that mistake go. Upon paying, we totally forgot that you needed to order a minimum of $ 30 to pay with a card. However, the waiter was nice enough to let that go, perhaps because they gave us the wrong soup, so we ended up paying with a card even though our total was less than $ 30.

Food is ok. Very neat presentation, and there is no similar noodles place around the area. Food wise, worth to try. Our party was planning to revisit at the spot already! Too bad… we changed our mind right after we received our check! They pre-charge us for 20% tips! Their explanation was that we sat there for too long(about 2 hours)~ Without any proper communication about their seating policy, I’m totally disagree on how they handle the situation. We will be totally fine to leave if they come up to our table and let us know their limit! When I went up to ask about the 20% tips, the first waiter gave me an embarrass & mad look and asked his co-worker to explain. I felt upset that they seem talked about our party behind us previously and think of some way to «penalize» their customers…

Bad experience. We had a party of 5 for lunch today. 2 of us sat down since 1PM and waited for the rest to arrive. We left at 3PM. They ended up forcing a 20% service charge on the bill by default because they argued that we had occupied their table for too long. A lesson learned about its culture as a surprise. Food isn’t bad otherwise.

Came here for lunch with a friend because the poke place next door was closed. Everything on the menu was decently priced($ 8-$ 15). Our waiter spoke little English, but it was manageable, and we both felt that the meal was really filling. Food: The noodles were great! I got the Barbecue Pork Guilin Noodle, and there was slightly too much noodle of the amount of pork and egg in the bowl, but overall really satisfying and delicious. You also get a bone marrow soup with the noodles. Service: We dropped a spoon, and the waiter never brought another one over, and we had to ask for water multiple times before we got our waters. The service felt more casual than the restaurant environment. 1 star off because of this. Other things: I didn’t take my leftovers to go because they charge $ 1 for a takeout box. And minimum to use credit card is $ 30.

Today I tried this place It was horrible. I ordered the mushroom chicken with rice. The rice tasted like it was scraped from the bottom of the rice cooker. it was dried and tough. The mushrooms where hard and dry and way too much MSG. The vegetable was not fresh. The chicken portion was like where is it! Way too much rice! Come on man! Very bummed! Cost $ 8.95 For disgusting rice bowl!

Went there by myself. There was an empty table but the waiter wouldn’t give it to me. Practically ignored me for over five minutes. Then another group came and they were given the table. When I asked the waiter why he said he thought I’m with them even though I’ve been standing right in front of him for over five minutes. And the freaking noodle doesn’t even taste good at this place.

Came to this plaza to pick up a cake from 85 degrees for my dad’s birthday. Was about to head out of the plaza to get phở when we passed by this place and decided to try it out instead. We had no idea what this place was about and my BF thought it was hot pot place. We were hungry and went in anyways. I was contemplating on getting the soup noodles and I asked the waiter what was more popular the dry noodles or soup but he just told me everything was popular.(No help at all) After flipping around the menu a bunch of times, I went with the brisket and crispy pork noodles. The crispy pork was my favorite part! If I ever come here again, I am definitely going to only order all crispy pork and have it on the side cuz I love my crispy pork crispy and not soggy. The noodles are good, I love any kind of thick noodles. Only thing I can say is that they can add more sauce to the noodles but that’s an easy fix! Just ask for more. I wasn’t a fan of the soup that came with the noodles, it just tastes like bland bone marrow soup or something. I would skip it. The tea they serve is really funky but it tastes better than the gross SJ tap water they serve you. Tips: More noodle sauce & skip the side soup.

I enjoyed this place, even though I’m not usually a fan of pickled vegetables. I got the crispy pork and barbecue pork guilin rice noodles. The skin on the crispy pork was actually very crispy, and it provided a nice crunch despite how thinly sliced the pork was. I also got the vegetable sampler, which contained 8 small vegetable dishes. Think panchan, but chinese. They had subtle flavors, but didn’t particularly go well with the noodles. The tea is fruit-infused and very good. The waiters basically did not speak english. My party spoke mandarin so this wasn’t much of a problem, but I could see it being difficult for non-mandarin speakers. I don’t think my waiter spoke cantonese either. The food was good, but service could be an issue, especially for non-mandarin speakers.

I don’t know where to start. Let’s just say my family left hungry and upset. First they brought out the soup pretending like it was hot when it was actually cold and had to be sent back. The the tendon soup was just«soup» water with a few bits of meat that did not resemble or taste like tendon at all. Customer service was horrible a bunch of I don’t knows. and pointing to the menu and each other which doesn’t mean anything. Asked for the manager who said that’s how the chef made it. I wish I could’ve talked to the chef and feed him that garbage cause it was a ridiculous meal. Note to the owner: hire some competent English speaking employees who understand what good customer service is.

Not bad. I can always admire places where their menus are full of photos… makes it easier(or harder) to choose what to order. They have a good array of noodle dishes — from dry noodles to noodle soups, to dry noodles with«broth soup» on the side. I ordered their #24 dish(Crispy Pork Rice Noodle Tomato Sauce) & it was pretty flavorful and was one of the few dishes that served the thicker rice noodles. It came with their broth soup on the side but I didn’t need to add it to the saucy noodles. plus the broth soup tasted like milky bland water. pass. My BF ordered the #6 dish(Salty Beef & Crispy Pork) with their default thin rice noodles. It wasn’t bad, but lacked flavor after eating #24. The noodles were lightly salted and dry so the broth helped the dish taste a lil better. The crispy pork in both dishes were delicious. Great crispy/crunchy flavor. The dishes were reasonably portioned and will fill you up quickly; we took the remainder of #24 to go and ate it later as a midnight snack, but it does not travel well… got too soggy, so it’s best to just eat what you can at the restaurant.

After a nice badminton session, my friends and I were hungry for noodle soup. The driver suggested GRN and I thought out loud. what the heck is GRN? When he said Guilin Rice Noodles, I was still confused. but I was hungry and willing to try anything so I was in favor of going. Upon being seated, we were offered tea all around. Water is given upon request nowadays. The tea was quite interesting, it had a faint sweetness to the taste. When we asked the server, he mentioned that it was fruit infused! Yummy! The menu is lovely, lots and lots of pictures for reference. It even has history of how GRN came about. I vaguely remember it dating back to Qin dynasty eaten during breakfast. How weird to have noodles for breakfast, but who am I to judge! I ended up ordering number 7 from the menu, which includes Beef brisket and beef tripe. The noodle comes with half an egg so I ordered an additional whole egg for $ 1.50. I also ordered the Chinese donuts to eat on the side with the noodle. The menu has a simple direction of how to enjoy and eat the GRN. I simply followed it step by step and thought it was silly to smell it first before mixing. But I had a good laugh while copying the instructions. The Large bowl is only a dollar more, I recommend going for that upgrade. Mine got me filled so quick, but I didn’t want to pack a small leftover to go so I forced myself to finish the bowl. The soup that it comes with is very light and you can use this soup to give the noodle a more soupy feel. Overall, the noodle soup had a delicate flavor to it. Very different from my usual Phở or Ramen. I will definitely be back here again when I am in the area and craving noodles.

I grew up in Guilin eating Guilin rice noodle everyday for breakfast. Ever since I came to America 11 years ago, I haven’t had the chance to taste the noodle I been craving for. This place taste very close to the traditional Guilin noodle. Except the noodle is more on the dry and plain side. The noodle taste like store bought instead of freshly made, and they did not put enough sauce(卤汁) in the noodle. Crispy fried pork taste like the real thing, so is the salted beef. Service was bad. We went around 3pm, there was only 1 table(leaving). We waited for the crispy pork & salted beef noodle for more than 10 mins. I have seen how the noodle is prepared in front of me thousands of times. It does not take that long. The waitress was sitting there, did not bother to ask us if anything was okay. I try to get her attention to add more sauce in my noodle, she ignored me. So I have to get up, walk across the restaurant, for the service. I ask very nicely and she give me a stink face. My brother had to get up to ask for a cup of water.(Btw the water taste like chlorine). Later an old couple came, and they had to get up for their service too. No Credit/Debit card under $ 30 Over all. I’ll come back ONLY for the noodle and ask for extra sauce. Not the service.

Guilin Rice Noodles are delicious and unique! There are very few locations and this one is my new go-to place and the place that introduced me to Guilin Rice Noodles. My favorite dish is Crispy Pork with Guilin Rice Noodles Soup. 5 stars! The place is in the corner, near the 85 degree bakery. It is super cute with elegant, chinese characters on the wall, and beautiful wooden chairs and tables. The staff? They don’t speak English that well, but they provide okay service, always get the job done. **But if you are calling for take-out, make sure you know the name of your item or the item number, if you describe it to them, they won’t understand you. This is a must try unique and delicious specialty. TIP**: Ordering take out would cost you an additional dollar per item. :(IT sucks, but their take out boxes are good quality! LOL!

Clean stylish restaurant that serves guilin rice noodles. I’m not familiar with what guilin rice noodles are but it tasted like spicey tasteless thick noodles with pepper. I ordered the sampler platter the first time and then the beef noodle soup the 2nd time. I thought both were tasteless and just filling up with thick noodles. There used to be a line here all the time, but there are no lines anymore. Service is good, restaurant is clean, price is decent. If you are expecting Liang’s Kitchen style beef noodle soup or even Orenchi Ramen, go elsewhere.

CLASSICGUILINRICENODDLES Interesting dry and greasy noodles with a myriad of toppings for everyone’s different taste buds. First, mix the noodles and meat, then finish off with the broth. The Crispy Pork was the best. Good but nothing memorable compared to other Asian Noodle styles.

I came here with my mom for dinner around 6. There was a decent amount of people here already, but we were seated immediately. A lot of Unilocalers mentioned bad service, and I have to second that. The woman who served us looked irritated and had a stink face. We ordered the large Guangxi beef rice noodle soup, Seasonal vegetables, beef tripe, and number 4 for take out. DONOT order the seasonal vegetables — it is literally just overpriced cooked lettuce. The rice noodle soup was just average. The noodles really had no texture and did not strike me as anything special. I did enjoy the soup base since it had sliced ginger and a hint of bamboo in it. The large noodle soup bowl was enough for my mom and me. When we brought our take out order back home for my dad, we found out that the order was completely wrong. Really? This was did NOT impress me at all.

I have had Guilin Rice Noodles when I traveled there as a teenager. Since I am not a local Guilinese, I can’t tell if this place is authentic or not. However, who cares about authentication? It’s more important if it’s good or not. We had the combination and the noodle soup. The noodles in the soup are too soft for me, they are not as chewy as the combination noodles. Also the portion in general is small for the price. Combination is a good choice if you just want to try it out, but yes, get ready to pay $ 16 after tax and tip. Not really worth it. The only thing I like might be the uniqueness of this place, and the chilly oil they have.

Came here on a Friday night close to closing time, I was worried that they wouldn’t take us in since it was about 15 mins to closing. There was still a wait to get seated, and we were able to get seated in 5−10mins. There were others that came after us and they got seated as well. I haven’t tried Guilin rice noodles before so I was intrigued to try it. I ended up getting the rice noodle«sampler» so I’m not committed to just one dish. My favorite was the Crispy pork and salty beef! We also got the spicy beef rice noodle soup, my boyfriend thought it was really spicy, but I thought it was just right! He also said that they weren’t skimpy on the meat. There’s a $ 30 minimum to pay with a card.
