Cafe Quyen

We come to this place every now and again when I am in the San Jose office. The coffee here is actually very good. It is a diminutive, unobtrusive little shop on Tully Rd. that appears to be a converted house. The interior is charmingly cozy but offers limited seating. The service is very good as the baristas are quite personable. The prices are roughly what you would expect for a specialty shop in this area. If you are in the vicinity and fancy a coffee, I would recommend stopping here.

The girls were friendly enough and considerably enhanced (if you get my meaning) and cute. Definitely eye candy. And the coffee was actually pretty good. It was a new experience for us and not a bad one at that.

Okay… I admit, I’ve been here. But it honestly was a mistake, albeit… a mistake I made a few times.
Think Starbucks meets Hooters with a Viet flair.
The coffee is strong (and price reasonably) and the eye candy… well, let’s just say, don’t bring your kids.
A while back, I brought my Father-​in-​Law one time and one of the Coffee girls came over, sat on my lap and asked for my order… I swear I was thought I was going to have to call 911 to have the paramedics come with a defibulator for my Father-​in-​Law who was sitting next to me.
After coming here a couple more times, I honestly think it’s a great place to come, have coffee, shoot the sh*t, play card games and oggle the pretty girls. You’d be suprised at just how many women also come to this place. It’s not an uncommon sight.
I’ve never seen anything «nefarious» here so don’t think this is a hookers den and if you do come here with that intention, be prepared for some «schooling» from the staff and patrons that don’t appreciate that.
It’s been a while since I’ve come and seeing some of the reviews here, I’d be a little wary, but I remember this place was a cool spot to check out… I’d definitely do it again if I’m ever in the area again.

I had an absolutely awful experience yesterday. I was expecting some young half naked girls, but upon entering, there was only 2 women there, both most likely in their 40−50s. I asked for a menu and the gross old lady pulled up her dress, pointed and her hairy ass pussy and said, «This is the menu.»
After a few attempts at trying to get a menu, I just ordered 2 Thai iced teas as I had no idea what was on the actual menu. While waiting for my drinks, the gross old lady came up to me, pulled out her tits and tried to get me to suck on her nipples. I had to damn near push her off me. Absolutely disgusting. I literally wanted to puke and lost my appetite for a few hours.
They charged $ 6 each for a Thai iced tea, which was mostly ice. I will definitely not be coming back here. Also, they barely even speak English. If you want a cool place, with beautiful young girls that give lap dances, go to Ngu Long. I had a blast there.
DO NOT GO HERE. Don’t say I didn’t warn you.

Want to oggle one ratchet 40-​something server and another passably hot but bored server in lingerie while surrounded by a bunch of Mexican dudes drinking avocado smoothies? Yeah, our hero wouldn’t choose that either.
It’s really really hard to find this place, so keep driving if you’re intent on finding this curious Vietnamese café. It’s slightly less shady than other comparable places, definitely less «attractive», a lot less smokey, and way more crowded… so it’s definitely a bit skewed in the negative direction.
PROS:
— Okay, the avocado smoothies are actually pretty decent
— Service is fairly attentive and they actually greet you right at the door.
CONS:
— The servers are a bit odd. They’re either really bored, or making awkward kissey noises at you.
— Seating arrangement is pretty crowded.

Great place and a hole in da wall… So happy my friend brought me here… True Vietnamese Café Shop. It felt like I was back in home. Pure Asian Country!

great place to go for tea, in fact just a great place to just chill and be.

This place is utterly the most disappointing café ever. During karaōke nights, you can’t hear anything the waitress say. To make matters worse, the waitresses do not speak a lick of English. Finally, the pricing is ridiculous. $ 3 for water? Are you serious?
If you’re here for the scandalous clad women, be prepared to be disappointed once more. They’re all at least in their 30’s and try their hardest to impress you with their push up bras and pushy service. Sorry, but the only girl worth talking to was the one who gave us the check. Not to mention the only one who could speak English. Thank you. You’re the only reason why I gave an extra star.

Note they sure have changed since I was a regular. For those who complained (or because of those who complained?) how all VNese café waitresses are unfriendly and off-​putting, the waitresses here are super friendly and attentive.
And, it is not smoky nor stuffy if that’s your thing.

One small room. Poor quality TVs. Only one girl who is only okay.
Also all members of a group have to buy a drink to stay.

the menu does not exist. only a few drinks, coffee, mocha, avocado, and thai tea. all opted for for thai tea. more ice than anything else.wtf.really? it wasn’t bad. but it wasn’t great. had way better.
overall, free tea. free drinks.i think you just tip them. but eh.they didn’t even say when they close n started to close the lights. the bathroom door doesn’t even close… sad.

Honestly, never would have thought I would write a review of a coffee shop but got damn the level of misinformed/​stupid people is off the charts right now.
First off, to the people expecting just iced coffee… are you serious? You must not gotten the memo. People come to coffee shops for the entertainment, sports, or simply as a place to hang out and socialize. It ain’t your damn neighborhood Starbucks SMH
Secondly, Vietnamese coffee shops are a notch above Hooters but a notch below strip clubs. I hope that that paints a realistic picture for anyone coming in. The women working as servers are not the flirtatious hoes some people imagine. They are not throwing themselves on the customers but most of the time they are simply attentive and if you’re lucky for whatever reason they are a little flirty.
Anyways, back to the review. Ambiance and atmosphere is just like any other shop I guess nothing too special. I usually come here simply because of tradition. Coffee is okay in my opinion. It’s not give you the shits as soon as you step out.
And the girls? It’s been on and off depending on which shift you happen to come in at (Same concept as the strip club). I’ve never had a bad experience with a server in all my time here.

My friend is using my Unilocal account to write this review. He came on a random Saturday afternoon with another friend and it was kinda slow with only 2 females working the shift. They were very attentive, full of joy, and were very hospitable to every patron in the café.

I was giving a foreigner an All-​American tour, so what’s a San Jose tour without a pit stop at a Vietnamese coffee shop? We all know what this entails, almost naked girls serving us some beverages.
So I took him to this place, it was where I first experienced Vietnamese coffee shops. I’ve been told there are better places with hotter girls, but that wasn’t really what I was aiming for. I was aiming for awkward moments and a bit of a laugh. It was also convenient, as it was across the street from where we were eating banh mis.
So we walked in and you can tell we were both out of place; I was a girl and he was Hungarian. Let the awkwardness begin! A Latina girl served us and she totally broke the Latina stereotype. She had a flat butt, I am not dissing her, just stating facts. Hell, who am I to talk? She was sweet and took our order. The other two girls’ butts were quite nice. All the girls were attractive, at least to me. It was quite funny when they bent over to clean the tables and their butts were literally a few inches away from our face.
Let’s talk about the coffee and the atmosphere. The place wasn’t as grimy as it used to be. There wasn’t any smoking (there was a while back) and it was pretty clean. People kept to themselves but I did wish the hip-​hop music wasn’t bumping as loud so I could talk to my date. We ordered two Thai ice teas, which he enjoyed. Their Thai ice tea was good, not the greatest but still tasty. He stated he never had a tea so sweet.
What was hilarious is the fact that you can tell he was a bit uncomfortable. He went to Brass Rail in Sunnyvale a few days ago with his colleagues (a vendor paid for them) and he stated it was more awkward than anything. He’s pretty shy in general and I liked watching him squirm. He finally warmed up at the end when we started talking about the girl’s lower back piercings. We questioned how it was conducted and the technical aspects of it; he is an engineer after all.
How much did he pay? He paid $ 20 for two Thai ice teas and a hefty tip. He said he never paid so much for coffee in his life. I said he tipped too much! He’s planning on going to other coffee shops with his coworkers, I bookmarked a few more for him to try on his own. He thinks I am cool and it’s because I am.

After a day of window shopping with some buddies, one of them asked if we wanted to get some drinks at a Vietnamese coffee café. Expecting a place that served some boba and perhaps some froyo, I would find myself (delightfully) shocked at what we would find instead.
As it turns out, Café Quyen is one of «those» kinds of Viet coffee joints. The waitresses during the time we were there were generally pretty hot and their bountiful cups overfloweth with cleavage. Pasties were about the only thing between this place turning from a coffee bar into a strip club but even the powerful, but mediocre coffee, could distract my attention from the «show» if you will.
You can go here to play games or watch TV, but we all know why we’re here and it’s definitely not for the coffee. I’m also all about not smoking indoors so this was a welcomed relief too. My only complaint would be that the waitresses were more interactive and perhaps even crack a smile once in a while, but alas, when one is walking around in lingerie and serving coffee to dudes who are there for T&A, it’s tough to keep your dignity. Ultimately though, I’ve got to rate this a generally positive experience for me (I mean, seriously, lol). Coffee/​tea, «T», and «A»? What more could you ask for?
