Nice little restaurant next to SJSU. I come by sometimes and I really enjoy most of their daily specials. They go through a paper and paper ordering system where you have to circle what you want which is pretty nice. Paying and dining is my prefer way of eating so I really enjoy that. Their rice and salad is always good and they have a nice selection of drinks too. Sometimes I just come here and order a glass of wine when I’m around. Definitely should check it out.

Been coming here since 2008. The Persian specials on Tuesdays are my favorite. Everything off the regular menu is good too but I usually go for the specials, which vary from chicken curry to Mexican and more, depending on the day. Also very good omelettes in the morning which come with potatoes and toast.

Love this spot, the owner and staff are super friendly and the food is good! Seriously they have the best side salad I’ve ever had! (this was from a long time ago???)

Super slow service with no one else in the restaurant and expired Unilocal coupon… boo. The coffee was mediocre. Veggie breakfast burrito was good.

I’m not sure if it’s the price of the food, the quality of the food itself, or a combination of both, but time after time, this place has never convinced me. My coworker seems to love this place, she loves the steak. I’m giving this place three stars mainly because the food is alright, and it’s a little overpriced. Plus I was charged for a side of sweet potato fries when it was advertised as $ 8.75 for two pulled pork sliders with a side of sweet potato fries. Pretty misleading in my opinion. Other than that, their service is pretty fast and great. Kind people for sure!

Meh, it’s okay for a café. Came here on Monday looking to snag a quick lunch before my workout. There weren’t a lot lot of people when I went in, in fact it was pretty empty. I ordered the beef skewer with rice and a side of fries. Fries were very bland and slightly mushy. The beef skewers were okay, I especially liked the seasoning. The rice shared the same fate as the fries, bland. Not much to say about the staff here, they didn’t say much to me at all. Service was quick though, got my food and was out of there in less than ten minutes. Might try eating at this café again in the future, not really sure.

Had Chilaquiles for breakfast, and it was as good as back home in La Manzanilla! Great capuccino too.

No stars for this place. In the morning I have gone there to get a bagel treat with cream cheese… the man that works the front always seems to be pissed, angry and put out by my order and today, 9÷10÷15, I ordered and as I handed him my debit card, he said it’s a $ 6 minimum with cards. So I looked around to see if that was posted and it’s not. He didn’t seem to care or give me any other options, like an available ATM near by. So I said that they should post that somewhere so that customers can be prepared. As I walked out he said, barely audible, «I’m sorry». Yea right. You don’t care, so don’t say you’re sorry! I told him in my out lout voice, «I’m never coming back here again». This was not the first time I’ve been treated badly there, but it was the LAST!

My 1st time visiting this café was this morning as it was the first day of school and I arrived on campus early for a 9AM class. Carlos, who was working at Café Pomegranate, greeted and treated me with the most fantastic service. The latte I purchased was perfectly made — exactly as I wanted, resulting in a very delightful treat that left me with a feeling of appreciation all day. Perhaps there is some secret ingredient included which causes joy… Thank you Café Pomegranate ~ See you again soon!

Simple ingredients for an awesome little spot. Great food, great service, amazing view and atmosphere, and a gorgeous ginger dog. Must see location.

I came here for breakfast, ordered a regular sized white mocha and a toasted bagel with cream cheese. Both were freakingggggg delicious. Bagel came as sesame not plain, I didn’t mind but ask if you want a specific bagel? She asked me how my weekend was, how I was doing, very sweet! I told her it was finals week and she upgraded my drink to a large :).

They weren’t kidding when they said this place was a solid 3.5. The ladies that work there are fairly nice, but they tend to be in the back most of the time. The guy out on front ALWAYS seems kind of Pissed with a rude tone to his voice. That or he just doesn’t talk. Other than that. The food isn’t too bad. The garlic mashed potatoes are pretty good. The chicken was alright. Nothing too amazing about this place, but a nice alternative if you’re an sjsu student that relies on the food court.

i usually go to Peanuts but i didnt feel like walking that far and wanted to try something new. nothing special here. staff is cold and the omelette is bland. i did like the quiet atmosphere. i also like that i can pay with my debit card instead of having to withdraw cash. they offer decent expresso drinksand teas. I might return to try their kabobs but Probably not because the service was so lacking. it was a little sad in there.

Terrible food! The pulled pork was the driest I have ever had. Customer service is terrible! Owner seems always in a bad mood and so does the staff. If I could give it a 1⁄3 star I would. Take a look for yourself how dry my food was.

One of my favorite places to eat near San Jose State. Food is always fresh and delicious. Staff is pleasant and helpful if you aren’t sure what to order. My favorite is the low carb salad with grilled salmon skewer.

Aside from the rice being a bit undercooked, the meal I got tasted very good and was very fresh. My biggest complaint is that the guy who took my order was either in a bad mood or totally hates his job. He was almost unwilling to give me the free side salad with check in…

This place is located right across the street from SJSU. What I like about the place is that it is a bit hidden and quiet. The food is pretty decent and decently priced. The only thing is that food isn’t really that fresh. I’ve seen them take out the food from containers already cooked which they then warm up for you. If you don’t mind that sort of thing then this place is for you.

Came in today at 10:40am for lunch but was rudely greeted by the lady that lunch is not served til 11am. At that point they only have pastries and coffee. We asked if they could make an exception to cook early at 10:50. Their answer was NO. However, I remember this lady five years earlier when we had lunch with grandma and how horrible she was about changing $ 1 in quarters for the meters. She said she was not willing to give me change because that would give her more work to do even though I was going to eat at her establishment. Needless to say, I will never come back especially after today. They don’t give a damn about their customers.

Solid 3.5! $ 8.50 after tax for the chicken platter which included white meat over a heaping mound of saffron rice, a vegetable kebab, AND a mini tomato cucumber salad? I’m in! For the quantity alone, I could easily forgive the underseasoned chicken and rice. Just make sure to ask for extra pomegranate sauce which adds a little bit(not a punch, mind you) of flavor. It’s a healthy, inexpensive meal. Have I had better Persian/Iranian/Mediterranean food? Definitely. But have I had all that for less than $ 10? Nope! Average, fresh, but not amazing food, large quantities, and inexpensive prices at a convenient location. (P.S. Unilocal deal of free salad/soup is outdated. Sadface. Bring your own Tapatio.)

Yummy mashed potatoes!!! And the rice is good too. But the kabobs are ehhh. Maybe because I get the tofu ones, but the salmon ones are okay. The mashed potatoes and rice are really good and their dressing are awesome as well. The lady that runs the place is really friendly too. But it definitely doesn’t fulfill my appetite for some reason. It’s just a nice place to have a full meal outside SJSU campus.

The café is low-key with a small rush at lunch hours. The menu is not large and if you’re looking for somewhere quiet to sit, you may have found the right place.

Tip: Have a pen or pencil ready when walking into this restaurant. It’s a little confusing when you walk in. You’re supposed to grab a menu ticket on the counter, fill out what you want on it and slip it under the glass sneeze guard so the guy can get it started for you. You walk over to the register, pick a drink from their cooler or select from their custom made coffee and pay. Pretty simple except you don’t see you’re supposed to utilize that piece of paper walking in unless you’ve been there before. So… You’re Welcome. I’ve spared you the five minutes of having that dumb-founded look on your face like I did. Food was pretty good. I had their Soup of the Day and Tofu kabob. Soup was hearty and perfect for the cold day. Kinda sucked that they didn’t have any other type of «hot sauce» besides Tapatio. I would have preferred pepper flakes even. But you work with what you got. Tofu kabob had like an olive oil/pesto marinade. It was yummy. I’m likely to make another visit back to try their other dishes. I’ll update more then.
